💯 it’s when they keep their mask off and act like a totally different person. My ex covert narc had a used civic Honda, wore gym cloths, never acted materialistic. Then 2 years later, leasing new Luxury cars, buying expensive clothes, just all around weird as heck. I have read where they try and switch types. Coverts turn to overtake and vice versa. Why do I think this happens? Becuz deep down they never have and never will ever know who exactly they really are.

Narcissists who at their place of employment make believe that they are big shots and power-trip, will try to punish you if you do these following things: You win an argument with them. You inadvertently or purposely cause them to remember that they are average or below-average Joes. You do something that they falsely think means that you are immoral and selfish because you don't think that you should be putting their lives before yours. You make them insanely jealous of you for making more money than them or because you come from an affluent family and they don't. You cause them to feel out of control. You do any miscellaneous thing which makes them hate your guts and liver.

I’ve totally experienced this “flip” in a person recently with a person I saved from a bad situation. I hired this person to help with my elderly dad. They became demanding and coercive to me when my dad had to go to the hospital. I feared for my safety and was alone with this person in the country. He wasn’t even a lover. Just my late friend’s son I had known since he was 12. I saw an opportunity for both of us to benefit from our alliance and he saw someone he could mine for a payday. When that didn’t happen and he thought he was going to have to pay for something himself he became menacing and scary. It blew my mind that it even happened.

Bought myself your Slay the Bully book for Christmas. I do believe it is long overdue for Justice and Child Protective Services to read it as a mandatory requirement for active work. In 2024 there is absolutely no excuse to keep looking the other way and allowing for evil to thrive. Whatever made Rebecca Zung follow this path, we are grateful. I just wish her assertiveness could brush off on all of us fighting this losing battle. Most of the times we can't afford an attorney half as good as her. And we are also in a state of permanent shock that is severely debilitating.

Thank you for this post. They get worse as the relationship develops and every time you leave and go back, you’re giving them the okay to treat you worse. In the end I called the police, because I told him that if he ever beat me up again, I’d report him. I don’t think he thought I’d follow through. When it happened, I knew it was time. He was arrested and charged with a felony charge. He was eligible for 3 to 7 years prison time, but he was only given 60 days. I wasn’t allowed to enter in any other evidence of previous abuse, just the last time. He threatened to kill me a few times and when I told the sheriff this, that he had lost his foid care, had illegal guns in the house, they did nothing, later I was told they should have removed the guns. Our laws in Illinois need to change. My counseling just informed me, police are going to be required to get more training in domestic violence. It’s a start I guess, but, it doesn’t bring me peace. He’s vindictive and vengeful. So I worry, even with an order of protection in place, mainly because he violated every condition and nobody did anything. This is why people end up dead. You sharing this gives people the signs to be aware of and make a plan to get out

I am so sorry that you are experiencing such evil. My abusers (multiple), keep changing their names, changing their appearances, etc and coming back after me, literally over and over again. It isn't me going back to them. It's them tricking/deceiving me into believing things that are not true with intent to cause me catastrophic, permanent physical, financial, emotional and mental harm, which they have absolutely, undeniably done, for years and years. I had a Restraining Order in place against one of my abusers AND was put under "State Protection" in the State of North Carolina (Address Confidentiality Program Code #146), yet he and his many flying monkeys/criminal co-conspirators just kept coming after me. So I moved 4 1/2 hours away and they kept coming. Then I moved literally almost 1,000 miles away and they stalked me every step of the way. Using Force, Fraud, Deception and their Corrupt inside law enforcement connections, I was forced, against my will, back to the State of North Carolina and into the apartment of one of them, as an unwilling domestic servant/Slave/unwilling tax deduction, AGAINST MY WILL, where I now can't escape, without help. My abusers have me surrounded 24/7 (ie False Imprisonment), completely and totally destitute and physically sick by depriving me of proper/correct medical, dental and eye care and treatments, for years and years. I am a Former Federal Employee and a very credible Whistleblower against Corruption/Organized Crime and they are retaliating against me personally in the most cruel and inhumane ways imaginable! I have reported all of them, giving over 3,000+ pieces of actual, hard evidences, thus far, but they have never been held criminally or civilly accountable for anything they have done and are doing to me personally and/or to this Country. I would strongly advise you to take several self defense courses to protect yourself both with and without a gun. Take a class on how to SAFELY handle and use a gun for self defense and get all of the proper permits needed. Hopefully, you will never need to use it, but in my personal experiences, it has taught me to be well prepared for literally anything they may come up with. Better to be well prepared than dead! Document any and everything that you can SAFELY document and back up documentation in multiple places. I have discovered that Restraining Orders won't keep a true abuser from contacting you. Restraining Orders just tell the Police who to go arrest after you're dead. Don't depend on anyone else to protect you. Take extra precautions to protect yourself in any and every way possible. Even if it seems silly to you, take those extra precautions! It could literally be the difference between your survival or your death! Malignant Narcissists believe they are above all laws and they are extremely dangerous people, as are their flying monkeys. Do not underestimate them. Yes, the laws need to be strengthen, but you need to protect yourself against your predator. I hope this helps you. Wishing you a safe, healthy, long, happy life full of much love, joy and respect!

Mine was finally arrested after he chased me around the field with an axe, left huge bruises on my arms, disabled my car, and stole my purse. He was in jail for a week. He was supposed to do domestic violence classes, anger mngmnt., and pay a bunch of fines. I heard he was braggin about them not being able to do anything to him. So, I called the prosecuting attorney and asked if that was true. The lady said, "unfortunately, yes". I asked why and she gave me some speech about budget cuts and stuff. I was devastated. He got off completely free. I was so upset. The law finally worked in my favor and then he walks? Right into the bed of a friend of mine of the last 20 years. If that didn't hurt . . . . Good old triangulation. That's when I went no contact.

I’m just curious regarding your inheritance, if you have a copy of the will or trust that indicates that you are a beneficiary how can your husband claim it ? Unless he is also a beneficiary, if not then he has no obligation to claim what is rightfully yours. Inheritance is a gift from the principal who created the will or trust that goes to the beneficiary named in the Will or trust Laws very in some jurisdictions but I think it would be safe to say that if you received an inheritance before or after you were married it’s separate from your marriage. Unless there is language including him in your inheritance, if not then go and file a theft complaint yourself, you don’t need an attorney

Yes it is! I set a firm boundary and told him he could not see me anymore he told me he would give our son to me to prove he would get to therapy. I still told him no and he blew up just like he always does when he doesn't get his way. He totally turned around and said he would fight to the death for our son and I would never see him again. I could show my son and maybe he would want to leave but I wouldn't want to hurt him, knowing his dad would give him up like that. I also don't want him to be in that toxic environment but he's in a place right now where he's blaming me because he listens to his dad and all the things he says and does to me. I'm worried now about what he'll do because he is physically violent and abusive in every way as far as abuse goes. I live with my mom now along with one of our two sons. It took several months for my youngest to fully realize what his Dad was doing was wrong, then he decided to live with me. My oldest seems to get more and more distant, living with his Dad. I have educated myself with countless hours and tears. I can understand why he feels the way he does but it doesn't make it any easier. I have a good support system but not knowing what he will do since we haven't been in this particular stage before, Im a little worried. We have been married for 21 years and i didnt know this evil existed so i didnt atart questioning it till 4-5years. Thats when the physical abuse started, slow and built up till he was strangling me telling me I was going to die. My kids have seen what he does on a small scale but they didnt seem like they felt it was bad till my youngest got out of the clouds of his manipulation. How do I (manipulate) him into seeing abuse for what it really is before its too late? Narcissists are very predictable but i haven't delt with the no contact ans final discard before. I wouid expect though, that he wont hive up easy. The #1 thing that has helped me sonmuch through all this heartbreaking trauma is the wonderful people that share their stories, research, insights, advice and help. If not for educating myself and the fabulous unending amounts of information out there, i would have felt so hopeless and crazy. So thank you!

I divorced my narc in 1994. He's had no vontact with my two kids since 2004 when they told him they don't ever want to see him again. They were 12 and 14. They had to spend two summers with him and they saw how he was. But he threatened to put me in prison for parental alienation, got lawyers, etc. So I went through a couple years of trauma. The kids as well. Fast forward to 2020. My daughter is 31. I had to cut off contact with her because I feared for my life. She beat me up. In FRONT of one of her small children. I went no contact. She moved several states away, back to where I raised her. And looked up her dad. She's buddy buddy with him despite knowing he SA'd her when she was 13. She also knows what he put me through. He's been on drugs and has done several prison stints. She knows all of this. She herself, I came to the conclusion is a narc. I only looked into it because she was calling me a narc. Uupon studying, I figured out that it's her. She was a horrible teenager and only got worse with age. She's been a beauty influencer on line. Spends hours a day looking in a mirror and has tens of thousands of selfies. Who does that? Bottom line. My daughter turned out like her dad. My son did not. They never got along as children, either. I raised them the same. They're close in age. But there was always drama in the house with her. As a teen, she became promiscuous. She got married at 18, it didn't last. She's married again. She had three children in that marriage but only one belongs to her husband. She cheated, he took her back. The last time I heard her talk (brag about her exploits) she sounded just like her dad. I say all this to say, a narc will side with the narc and LIE about you. You may have a narc child. It's agonizing, I know. I've come to peace with it. My life is peaceful without her now. My son and I call her an emotional vampire. She is also a financial vampire and owes both of us a ton of money.

I could write a book about what she's put me through. My son works in mental now. I'm pretty sure he chose that due to his childhood. I discuss these videos with him occasionally. He tells me that I did the best I could with what I had to work with. I didn't want to give up on my child and I completely understand that you don't, either. And I don't regret it. But, she's in her 30's now and worse than ever. She showed her kids how to disrespect me and I can't stick around for that. I think at least one will turn out like her and I pray for them all. But I can't hang around and have them beat me up as well. Good luck and I'll pray for you. Just know, you're not the only one who has went through this and is going through this.

His followers have burglarized my house for about 20 times and stole ridiculous things like clothes. But burglaries are terrible scary, don't think easily about that. Now I have safety installations with cameras. He and his parents have also told stories to my neighbours and after that the neighbours started acting very strange. I can't go to the groceries without being yelled by those stalkers. This is the revenge of my former partner, and he thinks that it is okay to do this against me for 30 years!! His parents have power and money and they have manipulated even the police and my rental house boss. I would think that if he hates me, and he surely does, he might use his time by moving on with his life. Why focus on me, the person he hates!! But he lives for the revenge and enjoys when I suffer. Thank you for the informative content!!!

That s why I ve decided to take legal action. Seeking help and advice from DVH,just finished the safety plan .Only problem..we don t belong in a shelter( wheelchair). What does one do when you ve tried going to the police n found out they ve been clued in to the targeting and will change the narrative and side with the abuser? Have been recording and documenting everything.

I'm in an environment like this. It's pissing me off. They'll try to abuse their authority when they know you have no help. As a targeted individual I don't have the luxury of getting help. All I have is Jesus. 🙏🏾

@witnessofchrist2524- I've seen intervention that could only have been orchestrated by a Living God, when I was in a situation with a person afflicted and operating with active negative npd traits, and while they were an "enemy against" me in their active discard-phase. The person had set-up sabotage against me at the destination of a trip. The person only went to watch their set-up against me get revealed- yet within a couple of hours, the person was literally moved out-of-the-way, and stopped. The person hadn't considered who else they had shown what they had done against, and step by step the person was SHOWN what they didn't get to do, nor continue to get to do against me. By the time the person had returned, the person found they were banned from the organization by the ones in authority who had seen what happened, and the person was no longer allowed to use my account, nor had access to it. I basically didn't have to do a thing- and the person couldn't get at me again. Thankyou God. God bless, protect and prosper you.

YES, all of this was very familiar to me. I'm 3 and a half years no contact. The discards were so mentally taxing and the rages had me fearing for my life. Every point you've covered is so familiar. For you ladies out there who have just been discarded, it's excruciatingly painful to go through, but you can do it. If I can do it, so can you. I think it was about the one year mark of no contact, that I realized I wasn't thinking about him every day. It gets better. Idk what I'd do if I saw him again - I'd like to think that I would just walk right on by, but that trauma bond is a super strong brainwashing. I just hope I never see him again. Sorry for the novel, but this has been therapeutic for me to write it out. Thank you for letting me do this 😊❤️ God bless every one of you ❤

I notice that most of the narcissist rage events are saying that women should get to a safe place to protect themselves. But in my case I had no where to run. My narc wife wanted me out of the house because she wanted to start seeing her new friends. She’s been cheating, lying, and being real toxic. She told me she wanted a divorce in a text. I talked to a lawyer and was told not to leave the family home because of the fact that she would say I abandoned the place and she’d get the property. Do I stayed. It was horrible. She was blatant in her betrayal. One morning after she was out all night , I had enough. I told her I’m out of the marriage snd she would be paying for her actions in court. I left house and went to a different place most of the day. I went by the house and saw she was gone. Do I went in and gathered some cloths and items I needed. And left. Later in the night I got a call from local police saying they needed to talk to me. So I went to the station to see what was going on. They arrested me and sent me to a hospital and admitted me as mentally unstable. I never hit her , I never did anything but ignore her abuse. She lied I guess and made up a story. I never found out what she said exactly . While in there for thirty days she filed a PFA on me. She came to hospital and testified that I was crazy and would kill jet if I got out.?the judge ruled I need to stay ninth more days. I was fuming. The doctor took me aside and told me that I was fine and I’d be let go the next day. When I got out I went to the property she was not at. She was taking slk my stuff and putting it in a dumpster. She was pissed that I got out. She was mad as hell. She contacted me and said she would bring my stuff to my house on Saturday and don’t be there . I replied okey. She took that to the police and had me arrested for a Pfa violation. She badmouthed me in court. And I ended up getting six months in jail over it. And also accused me ofother crimes. I ended up in jail for almost two years over her lies. Playing the victim. I did nothing to her. But she was a professional and they believed her. It cost me so much. She used the system to screw me over and they were tripping over themselves to protect her. She was an evil deceptive person and they didn’t see it. I’m still paying for it. When I got out. I took her to court and got support. She testified that I never touched her and never had any violent actions. At 53 years old and never in any trouble. However people still see me as the bad guy. I have a record. I’m was in the system. She was out Scott free.?when the Pfa was over my kids arranged for us to talk and we made a settlement. Now she don’t want a divorce snd wants me to be her friend.!she’s nuts. Now I need to take her to court to get what I deserve. The system is set up for women to be safe but men get screwed. There is so much more to get into but I won’t. For my kids I stayed social with her but told her the trust is gone. She won’t even see what she did was wrong. She wants to forget about all of it. And just get along. She almost destroyed me and feels no guilt. No blame. To me it’s unthinkable to be anything to her. And I’m still the bad guy. Narcs!

I am sorry you went through this. I feel like the children are always better with the mentally and emotionally healthier parent or next of kin family member. Unfortunately my Ex stalks and smear campaigns any area I go to. How people fall for information about someone they don't know, beats me 🤷🏻‍♀️. I was in a state that required parents to live two years apart before divorce. That creates a long term battle for the kids. I hope it has changed. 😢 Good luck gentleman 🍀🤞🏻. There are some really good fathers out there. It has to be an individual case basis.

I hate my ex would try to intimidate me with laying around weapons. He never hit me or anything during the marriage. But afterward was a nightmare. I'm a very strong person. So I was able to defend myself. I had to physically make him leave the home. But he wanted his belongings. I had an awful gut feeling but just wanted him to get his things. So I could be done. So I got my pepper spray. Started out cordial. Then out of the blue He laid a knife right in front of me and two big zip ties. I immediately stood up and went outside. And asked what he was trying do. I told him I was calling the police. He said I was going to fix the sign outside. Lol never thought about fixing it during our marriage. I told him if he touched me he was going to meet his maker. He left screaming "you win". Didn't know we were in a competition. These people are a piece of work.

Yes it is. I am so scared. My husband of 20 years is getting progressively worse. I am in fear of this man. We own a home he didn’t put a dime into. He took a large amount of money from our account. I don’t have a money to hire an attorney. I am in fear of my life and he isolated me so I don’t have a lot of people to help support me. I’ve been ignoring him and he’s getting worse he also started drinking heavily. I pray I can keep safe because I am disabled.

Yes it is, however it’s my son doing it, not a boyfriend. He is doing a lot of what you’ve said except putting a tracker on my car. He doesn’t call me mom, he disrespects me and calls me “hey lady” or by my first name. He gets up in my face and verbally threatens me. My mother lived with us until she died a year ago. He was treating her the same way, she was scared of him. After she passed away he got worse. I use to have a best friend I could text with a message if he ever did anything serious (he hasn’t yet). However, my best friend died just before my mother did, so not I have no one to text 😔

My sister who is 10 years older than me and tried to harm me numerous times when I was younger gave false medical information about me when I was in critical condition at 57 after which I went code blue 3 times. She seems to be very upset that I came back. Even "threatening" 🤣 legal action if I try to communicate with her. She's tried to control my extended family and was even successful at isolating me for a time as I was recovering. All I wanted was a good relationship with her but that's just not possible which is painful to me as she is the last one still alive in my family.

Beware of the person who says that they are so bored when you aren’t around them. They are an empty shell of a person who needs to leech supply and energy from other people in order to feel as if they are thriving. It’s not personal. If you’re not available, they’ll replace you at the slightest hint of distancing. Run! Run away from this pathetic and abusive shell of a person. They can’t love or care about you. They only care about themselves. Run!

This information is lovely, but we need to start banding together as survivors to help others get out. So many in the comments have stated the same thing...information is great but without any way to impliment this when court is brought into play and trying to navigate the court systems is a PITA and the courts also usually serve to propogate the abuse. Pain is profit and all of the professionals that are speaking about it but wanting hundreds of thousands for a consult aren't really helping the victims. Theyre helping the abusers get better and more covert with their movements.
