Salazzle is a great pokemon on mono poison in general, but especially VS mono steel with it’s fire stab and corrosion ability.

True! If you were to replace nidoking, I think it'd probably be in favor of salazle. My problem though is that HDB salazle isn't nearly as effective at stalling, and no heavy duty boots puts so much pressure on weezing to keep off hazards

@@NathanLikesChicken Fair. Maybe replace weezing (as a defogger) with crobat to more reliably keep up rocks (and add a non-levitate ground immunity, for moldbreaker EQ Pokemon) and try to run black sludge salazzle. Food for thought!

The Nidos will force switches, plus it's stall, so wouldn't Stealth Rocks be necessary? Nido will take care of Steels/Poisons with Earth Power and tag on BoltBeam for flying and levitating coverages

Honestly between amoonguss and weezing, so long as they have no gravity lando, you beat ground. Edit: you’re using like every set I would lol, except for pex in which I would use sludge, and the nidoking set (I run a fire move, timid, and rocks). Nice

I just faced this exact same team on the monotype ladder! It wasn't you though but it was fun to win with a ghost monotype team. I think their mistake was letting their drapion get sacked really quickly.

Since Nidoking is gonna be clicking pretty much one move the whole game in this meta, I really think Specs would be SO GOOD. I honestly think it would be better than Life Orb the majority of the time since prediction is pretty much unnecessary in most matchups

Drapion can run a lot of sets, including the typical copypaste ones, but for my money, I absolutely love running Acupressure Drapion. Unbelievably high-roll: you can lose a ton of matchups when it decides to boost Accuracy or SpAtk, or the opposite defensive stat of what you need for that moment, but the chance that you get that Evasion boost makes it all worth it. Nothing is more satisfying than making your opponent just ragequit cuz absolutely none of his attacks are hitting. Rest + Sleep Talk also keeps Drapion alive and Acupressuring longer, until you just 6-0 sweep with a +6 Atk, +6 Speed monster that's virtually untouchable with max evasion and defenses. I wouldn't recommend it for serious competitive use, but it is hella fun to play like nothing else.

Hey Nathan! I use the team, thanks for the amazing video, but in a server which encourages gyms and I'm the poison one in there! Gyms there offer a thing called offtype! And you're only allowed to bring two steel/poison/psychic/ground type pokemon against the gyms! Seeing, Mandibuzz/Skarmory is my usual offtype! We're even allowed to ban three pokemon, and legends and mythicals are banned, along with ubers, but the leader may use one non legend uber! I was wondering some suggestions to deal with Alakazam on the team, thanks! Also Dragonite is way too threatning as well! Additionally fortunately swift swim is banned, no Swampert threats! I currently ban Kommo-o, Celesteela and Scizor! Any ban suggestions/or team function suggestions? Thanks!

On Nidoking or Drapion, Toxic Spikes plus some forced switch like Roar, Dragon Tail, or Whirlwind, you can frustrate an opponent by spreading poison to their team. Also, I tend to run Salazzle with Corrosion and Toxic, it runs really nicely aginst the Monosteel match up.

I love poison typing but he didn't use two of my favorite poison pokemon. Why no salazzle for a wall breaker and no alola-Muk? I believe that a salazzle would have carried you through the mono steel match up, if you ran toxic, protect, substitute. Then muk would be your special wall that soaks up everything and kills all psychic types with pursuit trapping them as well as just poisoning and knocking off anything and everything else. Just my thoughts ya know 6 months late.

While I agree that both of those pokemon are viable options, they both have some problems. Muk has the problem of... Not being available in this Gen! Sadly it's National Dex meta only and as such isn't an option for normal Mono-Type. If it was available it would certainly take Drapion/Skuntank's spot. Salazzle on the other hand has the problem of being kinda one note. It's for the Steel Type match up and almost only for that. It's fragile and usually only has Toxic + Flamethrower meaning it's has a hard time mattering in some situations. It's still not a bad pick because Steel is a very bad match up for Poison but it's not an auto include either.

@@Murkglow I agree with your assements I still have to disagree with the salazzle. While she is a one trick pony what she does is decimate nearly all the popular walls of the meta. And how is muk not national dex? Unless you're talking something I'm not understanding I have muk on my national dex team and he is the best. Honestly just needs some sustain and he's the perfect special wall for everything not ground. But back to salazzle she is perfect at what she does and that's about it so use the right tool for the right job and no issues. But yes she has faults too.
