Dude, In general, I love that more and more bands are doing 50/50 split clean and heavy vocals nowadays conpared to before where it was one or the other 👌

What a f***ing beauty of a song. Phil is, hands down, the most versatile singer in heavy music. I love his vocal range. Its unreal. And that solo...OH MY F***ING GOD! ♥

Orphan has to be my favorite song of the three singles we got from Whitechapel. Phil’s clean vocals are really good and it’s cool to see him use his clean vocals more. But I can’t wait for the new record and I’m so excited to see what else Whitechapel has in store🤘
@Unknownusername10043 жыл бұрын
I hope there’s cleans sprinkled throughout but I hope the last song is reminiscent of older albums when he kills his evil side and moves on

Love this band, listened to them for years, love all their music, this may be my favourite song by them ever. Phil continues to blow me away with how goddamn talented he is, fave vocalist in the game right now.
@Unknownusername10043 жыл бұрын
I hated the song bring me home because of basically bias but after getting used to hearing Phil sing clean damn he’s held back he’s easily my favorite clean vocalist now I wish he’d have started a solo project before incorporating them to WC so it’d have been an easier transition for old fans
@Unknownusername10043 жыл бұрын
He was also a Monumental influence on my gutturals and lows when I first started vocals his high scream tone he used in a new era of corruption was also a fantastic high tone
@Mighty_Bangus3 жыл бұрын
I get that, and I would love a side project for his cleans, but the whole band seems to be well on board to change it up, so if the whole band agrees and they don’t completely forget where they came from and the deathcore die hard fans that got them there, I’m all for them doing whatever style they want.
@Unknownusername10043 жыл бұрын
@@Mighty_Bangus fuck deathcore diehards dude they’re literally one of the most metal elitist groups on the planet whitechapel are one of the titans of deathcore their new progression is an evolution of them getting older. The same thing happened with rise against. They still put out banger ass albums but the OG fans usually bitch that Tim doesn’t scream now even though he does it’s just not siren song or RPM levels.
@Unknownusername10043 жыл бұрын
@@Mighty_Bangus also that’s not fair to the band though dude because until orphan was out they were still pounding the deathcore vibe hard so I’m hoping for an even mix. Had you told me 10 years ago I’d have cleans in my whitechapel I’d have called you a moron but now after hearing it I wouldn’t want it any other way

Such a good vocalist! It's like singing is so easy for him that he only has to lean into the sound to get grit and gravity 🔥 loved this

I don't know what the interpretation is of this song. But the title got to me very quick. The first time I heard it, it just clicked. I was an orphan until I was 3 years old. And the vibe, the singing, the feeling Phill gives to this song with so much emotion. I've cried many tears already to this song. Sing/scream as loud as I can when I hear it... To start crying again. When a song does that to me. I know this is an exceptional, emotional and amazing song.

Absolutely loved this!! I'm a huge fan of their heavy stuff as well. I enjoy both styles of music and being able to get both from the same band just staples how great of a band they are and Phil is one of a kind.

After Bring Me Home and Hickory Creek I was expecting another softer song for sure but I definitely was taken back by this one. Most people seem to love it. They're still mostly a death metal band so I think they have built plenty of equity with the fans to have songs like this on occasion. I've lost count of how many times I've listened to this song. Good music is good music.

I think people forget about how long WC have been around for.. Of course you want a new sound along side your iconic voice. I first heard this band when I was still a teen.. I'm 33 now lol
@Serasu333 жыл бұрын
I actually got some Seether vocal vibes on this one at a few points. Either way it's great to see Whitechapel show how talented they are with a song that is so far out of their norm like this. People often harp on bands for being one dimensional until they release songs like this. Most of us know how talented these bands are already, but this helps those types of people respect their talent more, which is a nice bonus.

I don’t even regard Whitechapel as a “deathcore band” at this point. Their last two albums confirm they’re just simply one of the most kick ass American metal bands of the late 2010’s and 2020’s. No need to put them in a genre box that’s any more specific than that.

So nothing to do with this vid, but you two should finish up the Lorna Shore EP with the live version of “Of The Abyss” from the Revolver show they did in Jersey. It’s totally worth it Also, you should check out the new EP/long form animated video from Knocked Loose, “A Tear In The Fabric Of Life”. It’s one of my top releases of the year and relentlessly heavy while also being atmospheric and eerie. Take care gents!
