Increase potassium is iffy, but take in trace minerals and take CoQ10....zero fruits, fructose is highly toxic. Lots of water, never any other type of liquid.

Omg just came in at 183 right now and I’m so worried!!! I use to clock 145 most 175 but then started fasting, I did the master cleanse and started jogging well that helped bring me down to 128. I am cutting out all salt just sea salt and doing the master cleanse wow I’m praying GOD keeps me here long enough to bring my BP back down because I have a 2 month old and I had noticed that her keeping me up, crying just over all colicky symptoms that I did not experience with my first one has me feeling so bad. I agree that doctors are too quick to give prescription medicines. And I found out the reason is because mostly all of them own pharmaceutical stock companies. The more prescriptions they write the more money they make. I asked one doctor about taking some herbal or natural medicine, he said why would i tell someone to take that there is no profit in that !!!!

I bought a walking treadmill (£200) and walk about 20 mins a day ,start at 5 mins and work up to 20, I use a mp3 player and play some music which is reasonably fast enough to get you slightly out of breath, your the best judge of how fast it is for you, it keeps me in step and makes it enjoyable rather than boring,it works a treat at lowering my blood pressure.

I have reversed my recently detected Hypertension 140/97. Trust me, I am someone who wants results with little comfort and here are the things which I did and if I can do it then I am sure everyone can.. 1)I like meditation or rather you can say going into trance, thinking about good things or your dreams. Do this for at least 20-30mints. I put on music and just dream with my eyes closed. I also do 5mints of deep breathing, remember to hold your breath each time when you inhale and exhale. 2) Be positive and keep on affirming good things throughout the day. A few days can go bad and it might be difficult, but still fake it just recite. 3)Walk or Do a little cardio you can even do at home 20-30mints is okay in the beginning. Better if you can do both. 4)Last but not the least your diet, food is the major culprit here atleast in my case it was. I started doing intermittent fasting 16:8. No meals means absolutely nothing after 6pm next day around 9-10am morning I will have a little breakfast. Throughout day also do not eat all those nonsense and crappy food. Try these things for few days and see the results. Work on your belief and keep saying to yourself that you can do it.

How long/far would you run a day? My worry is that I will drop dead from trying to lose weight. I'm not a very heavy guy, but I smoke a pack a day, which I've begun to quit as I write this. My BP today was 147/90 and was just pounding. And if you lowered it within two weeks like that, then I'm going to go for a run first thing tomorrow morning.

It is not about the weight. It is about the insulin resistance and the metabolic syndrome. Weight is just one more result of metabolic syndrome. Sodium is not a factor unless you have kidney problems. Pressure diuresis and other regulatory mechanisms completely adjust for sodium. Your taste and your desire for sodium regulates how much you can have. If you get too much it taste bad.

Im 32 my blood pressure was around 145 ish over mid 90s and sometimes my readings would creep into the 150s over high 90s... They put me on blood pressure medication( I was not planning on staying on it.) I switched my diet around completely. I eat whole grains, munch on cheerios and almonds as a snack, only eat white meat mainly chicken breast and sometimes some lean porkchops, eat broccoli, take red beet juice, fish oil pills and hawthorne berry pills.. So anywho i took the bloood pressure meds for a month and they did absoleutly nothing... I stopped taking them (spoke to my DR first) started my diet and started running and walking almost every day. Needless to say just took my blood pressure today and it was 114/69.. Which is where its been sitting at. I can take it at anytime and the highest reading ill get is like 131 over like 80 but thats usually midday when i get back from running other than that its like 112 to 117 over 68 to 78... Oh and ive been smoking cigarettes for years and have 2 to 3 drinks a night.... Ohh and my resting heart rate came down from high 70s low 80s to low 60s.

I wish I started sooner but grateful to have the opportunity to now. I started hawthorne berry like a week ago & had great results but I think I need to add potassium & magnesium as well. Plus my vitamin D was super low which can cause high bp too so I got a prescription for that. My bp is higher than yours started. I have completely cut fast & fried food & i'm eating more fruits & veggies plus getting at least 30 minutes of exercise a day now. I just started but I have faith & determination to turn this around. I'm only 32 as well.

I’ve had high blood pressure since I was a kid mostly because of genetics inherited from my dad who also had high blood pressure since he was in his late 20s. Unfortunately he died at 82 due to a cancer and this also proves that you can live a long healthy life with hypertension.

I'm not on medication. I started drinking low sodium V8 (1200 mg of potassium per 12 oz can) and magnesium supplements (just because I probably don't get enough of either in my diet). That combo has significantly lowered my BP - on the order of -20mm/-10mm.

My BP every day is approximately 140/70. I stopped salted snacks, alcohol and simple carbs. I’m 5’4 114 lbs. I read it takes 4-5 weeks after quitting alcohol to see a drop in BP. I just completed week two. I am 75 years old. I read that we need 4700 mg of potassium a day and after looking at food content their is no way I could get that.

Coffee & caffeine in individual who are sensitive to caffeine, *me* can raise blood pressure a lot / I am coffee addict so this a tough one. I wake up 4-5am naturally & drink coffee or espresso first thing & its my favorite time of day Alcohol. Gin & Tonic are my favorite adult beverage, but they raise blood pressure, so I need to cut back I take Lisinopril 20mg daily now to further lower blood pressure, but stopped for a week to see how that would work Getting enough physical activity good. I workout 3x per week for 25-40 min, weight training & doing cardio for ~15 min at an intensity enough to make me hot & sweaty & make it hard to speak more than a few words before breathing again, with HIIT in mind, so harder intensity for shorter intervals. With strength training, I do sets of 8 reps 3x so 24 total reps. I gradually increased resistive masses on the machines I use until the given weigh was easy, now at 90lbs :) I alternate muscle groups & take a rest day between workouts where I only do a few alternate muscle groups. I feel a lot better since starting deliberately weight training 3 months ago My body mass 165 lbs, been about the same for 15+ years. I found that skipping breakfast or eating a smaller dinner earlier or both really helped to lower my HbA1c & fasting blood glucose levels. I had developed pre-diabetes at one point & have been taking metformin to address this, but starting cutting back because it was making me tired all the time. I also felt thirsty all the time when I was taking metformin every day. So dosing medications very important. I went from 1000mg metformin per day to 500mg by cutting them in half & that helped reduce the tiredness a lot. I also switched to taking the lisinopril at bedtime. Everyones body different, but key take home are / Eat less, smaller servings, skip meals, do not eat when your not hungry Stay well hydrated by drinking enough water Not too much salt Get regular physical aerobic exercise & resistive strength training Cut back on coffee & alcohol consumption Do deep breathing calming exercises & focus on staying chill or calm Go to bed earlier & wake up earlier naturally

A lot of these meds especially beta blockers decrease sodium, magnesium, and potassium. If you’re in a diuretic as well you get hit twice by these drops. You can get leg cramps , peripheral constriction, dry mouth, etc. Try and get 4700 mg per day which is the target! It’s very difficult. Diuretics also eliminate salt. Good luck!

Yes, you might die from that. If you feel hurt in the back of your head, it means that there's a constriction of blood vessels in there because of high cholesterol.
