I’m totally doing this bone broth fast. Thanks for the great tips and guidance. I’m looking to detox and begin losing the weight I gained as a result of depression. Thanks beautiful women! Let’s see how this week goes! I have 5 days off from work, so it’s perfect for taking on this challenge! And I’m starting a new career! Wooo!

I did a bone broth fast for 3 days. I got terribly hungry. I'd have a small handful of nuts at night, because I have a hard time sleeping if I'm hungry. I didn't see any down side that I know of...I lost a ton of weight, but and this is a huge but!!! I lost my intense sugar cravings!
@naturallynourishedRD4 жыл бұрын
Whohoo!!! Yes totally fine to do those nuts kinda like adding fats to the broth. 🙌

I plan to make my broth in the pressure cooker to save time and I don't want to lose any weight so will fast for 36 hours. Thanks so much for the information and inspiration, I've been feeling like my system could use a break after so much indulging.

She talks about calorie deficient but when you do a bone broth it doesn’t matter it’s not calories in calories out because there’s no carbohydrates in the fast,. I’ve been doing bone broth fast and I never drink more than 2 to 3 cups a day sometimes 2 cups sometimes one cup even! It’s how my body feels I lesson to my body, if I feel hungry I drink more it’s simple has that. Even one cup a day is healing I would go to quarts shssss I be boiling bones 24/7

Thank you. I can't wait to begin this! My Naturopath has warned agains not eating breakfast due to cortisol spiking. Can you shed some light on this please, and would it be more appropriate for me to begin my fast at say 3pm so as to be able to have my first broth at 8am to blunt the cortisol spike. TIA
@naturallynourishedRD3 жыл бұрын
I would recommend having breakfast of protein and veg to aid in cortisol regulation as over fasting can drive cortisol stress response

I have Crohn’s disease and have an ostomy as my large intestines were removed. I was diagnosed with crohns about 25 years ago as a teenager but have had the ostomy for around 7 years now. I was recently hospitalized for a flare up and I’ve been home a couple weeks now on my own struggling to stay hydrated and keep my electrolytes up. My potassium, magnesium, and chloride levels are chronically low and take prescription pills for it, but I’ve really been liking bone broth to help as well. I actually need to salt my food heavily as I didn’t get sodium chloride as a prescription. My friends think it’s crazy I’m on a high sodium diet but it is what it is. Sometimes I get confused because they say bone broth is a big immune booster, but I’m also on immune suppressant medications (remicade infusions and immurane)…. Soo…. Is bone broth a good idea? I’m assuming it is but it’s also confusing lol. Anyways I’m really enjoying the various videos on your channel during this hard time. I’m not feeling well enough to make my own broth yet but hopefully will within a couple weeks. I’ve bought several store brand broths that are pretty good that I picked up at Natural Grocers. So far I like the “boneafide” brand. I like the frontier blend. Also I like the “Fire and Kettle” brand, the chicken and mushroom flavor. If I want a meal out of it I’ll add either diced baked tofu, or shredded chicken, sometimes I add a little brown rice (I buy precooked, rice cups you microwave for a minute), I like adding nori (dried roasted seaweed) and diced fresh parsley and chives. A squeeze of lemon or half a packet of that “true lemon” powder. Yum. I saw your recipes for broth and I’m dying to try the one with miso paste. 👍 Anyways, thanks again for the great content.

Bone broth would be highly recommended and no not a concern with the immunosuppressants. We talk about the immune boosting benefits in terms of aiding in gut integrity which you definitely want support for!

I’m trying a one day bb fast with only water and black coffee. 3-4 12 oz bb servings. It’s lunchtime so I’m having my 2nd bb with some herbs and Himalayan salt. If it gets rough I’ll try a bb latte with coconut oil frothed in. Trying to rest after my Thanksgiving indulgences.

Such good info, ladies, as usual! I've been suffering from some weird digestive issues the last few months, and being an FNTP I've tried tons of options to correct it, including your Bacteria Rebuild program (which actually helped a ton). I do have lingering issues though, so I think I'm going to try a bone broth fast this week! I have tons of cartons of Kettle & Fire on my shelf that I can add delicious herbs and spices to. Thank you for sharing! You sent the motivation I needed to just bite the bullet and give this a shot :)

Will it be any benefit to me to do a one day bone broth fast? I am struggling with skin issues and think I may have a messed up gut lining because I have lots of inflammation, but I don't think more than a day with no food is realistic for my lifestyle.

Sameee my psoriasis is horrible right now. I know its my gut. My advice is to stay as busy as possible and keeping flavored water with you all the time
@naturallynourishedRD2 жыл бұрын
Yes a bone broth fast or even a short term carnivore approach can be helpful for skin issues BUT for true long term resolution I would recommend you complete our 6 week Beat the Bloat Cleanse as we know skin issues are typically microbiome driven. During that cleanse you eat food the whole time!

I heard you say in this video, not to have dairy products, is that correct? I thought high fat like cheddar cheese and ranch dressings were good with high protein diets? Also can I use honey in my tea? Lastly is this diet suitable for ppl with kidney conditions?
@naturallynourishedRD2 жыл бұрын
We are talking about during the bone broth fast. I would not do honey during this time as you are aiming to reduce insulin demand. Consult your practitioner if you have a kidney condition but a bone broth fast typically contains 60-80g protein.

Yes, you can do the detox packs. But also, I highly recommend taking our Digestaid which has enzymes that support digestion. Try taking it with each meal especially if it has fat which will help break it down. alimillerrd.com/products/digestaid

@naturallynourishedRD3 жыл бұрын
Autumn, you may see weight come back up by a couple pounds of water but ideally during a fast like this you are seeing body composition shift with fat loss and muscle maintenance. I would consider transitioning from the bone broth fast into our keto program if weight loss is the goal.
@markeisharobinson64372 жыл бұрын
For weight loss and gut reset for a woman with PCOS/hormonal issues, could you do just veggies and grass fed meat meals 3x times a day with bone broth 4x times a day?

Sure if the meals are calorie restricted enough you will likely still see weight loss. Keep your eating within an 8-12 hour window.

Does broth break a fast? (no added fat) I thought/heard it doesn’t but I get conflicting information. (try to do intermittent fasting and am trying to figure it out)
@naturallynourishedRD3 жыл бұрын
Anything with calories technically breaks a fast but there is a lot of benefit to adding in the broth and you can still see autophagy, fat loss etc. that you are looking for with fasting. Check out our video on types of fasting for more.
