Supplementing Ginger in your diet will help heal and repair your body...
1. **Anti-Inflammatory Properties**: Ginger contains bioactive compounds such as gingerol, shogaol, and paradol, which have been shown to inhibit pro-inflammatory pathways in the body. These compounds can suppress the production of inflammatory cytokines and enzymes, thereby reducing inflammation at a cellular level.
2. **Digestive Aid**: Ginger stimulates the production of saliva and gastric juices, which can enhance digestion by breaking down food more effectively. It also helps relax the gastrointestinal muscles, promoting smooth movement of food through the digestive tract. Additionally, ginger can reduce intestinal cramping and bloating by exerting a calming effect on the gut lining, making it beneficial for individuals with digestive issues like indigestion and irritable bowel syndrome (IBS).
3. **Anti-Nausea Effects**: The anti-nausea properties of ginger are attributed to its ability to influence the nervous system and digestive processes. Ginger acts on the gastrointestinal tract and the brain's vomiting center, helping to reduce nausea and prevent vomiting. It also accelerates gastric emptying, which can be particularly helpful for individuals experiencing motion sickness or pregnancy-related nausea.
4. **Antioxidant Properties**: Ginger is rich in antioxidants, including gingerol and zingerone, which scavenge free radicals and prevent oxidative damage to cells. These antioxidants play a crucial role in neutralizing harmful reactive oxygen species, thereby protecting cellular structures and DNA from oxidative stress.
5. **Immune-Boosting**: Ginger's immune-boosting effects are linked to its antimicrobial, antiviral, and anti-inflammatory properties. Gingerol, one of the main bioactive compounds in ginger, has been shown to inhibit the growth of various pathogens, including bacteria and viruses.
6. **Blood Sugar Regulation**: Studies suggest that ginger may improve insulin sensitivity and glucose metabolism in cells. Gingerols and other bioactive compounds in ginger can enhance insulin signaling pathways, leading to better uptake of glucose by cells and improved blood sugar control. By regulating blood sugar levels, ginger may help reduce the risk of insulin resistance and type 2 diabetes.
7. **Cardiovascular Health**: Ginger's cardiovascular benefits are attributed to its ability to lower cholesterol levels, reduce blood pressure, and improve blood circulation. Gingerols have been shown to inhibit cholesterol absorption in the intestines and decrease the production of triglycerides in the liver, leading to improved lipid profiles. Additionally, ginger's vasodilatory effects can help relax blood vessels and enhance blood flow, which supports heart health and reduces the risk of cardiovascular diseases.
8. **Pain Relief**: Ginger's analgesic properties are thought to result from its ability to inhibit pain-causing enzymes and reduce inflammation in the body. By blocking the production of inflammatory mediators like prostaglandins, ginger can alleviate pain associated with conditions such as muscle soreness, arthritis, and menstrual cramps. Ginger's pain-relieving effects may be comparable to nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) but with fewer side effects.
9. **Brain Health**: Research suggests that ginger's neuroprotective effects are due to its antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. Gingerol and other bioactive compounds in ginger can cross the blood-brain barrier and exert protective effects on brain cells. By reducing oxidative stress, inflammation, and neuronal damage, ginger may help preserve cognitive function, enhance memory, and protect against neurodegenerative disorders like Alzheimer's disease.
10. **Weight Management**: Ginger's potential role in weight management is linked to its thermogenic properties and effects on metabolism. Ginger can increase thermogenesis, which is the process of generating heat in the body by burning calories.
11. **Expectorant Properties**: Ginger contains compounds such as gingerol and shogaol that have mucolytic properties, meaning they can help break down and expel mucus from the respiratory tract. By thinning mucus secretions and promoting their clearance, ginger can aid in relieving chest congestion and cough associated with respiratory conditions like colds, flu, bronchitis, and asthma.
12. **Bronchodilator Effects**: Some studies suggest that ginger may have bronchodilator effects, meaning it can help relax and widen the airways in the lungs.

@droccult700 2 table spoons in a small like whiskey glass. Then fill to about a quarter with water & drink through a straw to avoid contact with your teeth. I drink it about an hour before food. But since my diet is full of meat fish vegetables & just a little fruit/kiwi & lemon only my acid reflux as gone. It only comes back the day after drinking alcohol. Whole natural foods is definitely the way to sort acid reflux. Just takes time I guess for your gut to actually make its own acid.

I just happened to buy about half a pound of ginger yesterday. I enjoy eating it plain by itself unpeeled because I view peeling it as a waste, I like it as a tea, or with some other foods, mainly meat and fish, or sometimes as a treat with honey if I occasionally want something sweet or chew on it while drinking beer for a better flavor (lemon and lime juice make beer taste pretty good too and I assume should help the body cleanse from alcohol consumption better).
