City to vote on clearing graffiti from downtown LA high-rise

The Los Angeles City Council is expected to vote on a motion that would force the owners of the Oceanwide Plaza in Downtown LA to clean up the graffiti that is now covering three towers top-to-bottom.

There were problems with theft of recyclables for years, but it wasn't visible. Now the problem has visibility, and the Grammys were right across the street, for the world to see. I don't know what's on the calendar for the Staples Center, but the next big do I think is right around the corner.

The food, the culture, the nightlife there's something for everyone here. You don't have that in the rest of the US.

Homeless lining the streets, illegal food carts, trash, graffiti, high cost of living, true you don't have all that awful diversity everywhere, most places are more civilized and don't support the democratic party, which has destroyed, the once beautiful state.

Re security: Another one of those public pronouncements the media does not challenge officials on. There WAS security at the site, but with a two-person team to guard the whole three-tower complex it was woefully inaedequate. Security called the cops when taggers first appeared, but the outcome is obvious. According to CoStar news, another security company filed suit for unpaid bills against the property's management company. What DeLeon fails to mention is that any security company, as well as any company tasked with the graffiti clean-up, will want to make sure they are getting paid before they lift a finger. "There are already $50 million of liens on it. No company now will want to have to get in that line while chasing after their money.

The artist are not taggers they are ARTIST, a tagger is someone who uses a marker and lives a name. Graffiti artist do color abstract and put a name on it, its been going on for years!! Let me explain the difference to you, Professor. A hi-rise, even unfinished, blends in with the architecture of its surroundings. It doesn't stick out, it its what you would expect to see in a city's skyline. A graffiti-marred structure is an indicator of urban blight and neglect. It is the signal of a community on a down-slide. It clamors for attention and refuses to be ignored. And yes, graffiti culture travels hand-in-hand with gang culture. People have been killed trying to eradicate gang graffiti. It's a distinction without a difference.

That MSK in the background is the 2nd dopest graffiti piece on that building. There was another graffiti artist who had the #1 piece captured on a youtubers drone video footage. It was like a rainbow mirage fill in / hella dope. The rest of the pieces on that building are not that good. There's only like 2 out of 200 pieces that I rate an A+.
