The EPA is expected to announce new emissions standards tomorrow. The Biden administration wants to accelerate the green revolution by requiring that electric vehicles make up at least 54 percent of automakers’ new car sales by 2030, according to industry sources. NBC News’ Tom Costello shares more on the transition from gas to electric.

If we transitioned over to 100% electric we would be using double the amount of fossil fuels that we currently do to power ICE‘s. Not to mention the nonexistent charging infrastructure to handle 278+ million operational register vehicles in the United States. We would need 4 to 5 times the amount of charging stations as there are current gas stations just because of charging time.

EV’s weigh up to 40% more then a gas powered car of the same size. You’ll need to replace your tire’s about twice as often and because of the extra weight the roads Will need a lot more maintenance. Also going out in the National parks will be more difficult because you’ll need to charge your car/truck and btw the USA could shut down completely and it won’t make a difference china and India have almost 65% of the world’s population and unless they make the changes needed it won’t matter

FIRST of all, you feature a Hummer EV, which is THE LEAST green, sustainable or economical (think SUPER $$$) choice by far. SECOND, the manufacturers, like VW are producing small electric vehicles in the states, like the iD3 as a prime example, but only selling them overseas. WHY are we they not making small sustainable city cars, exceptional public transportation, or even great mid-size EVs? Make a small to mid-size EV that is accessible and affordable, actually BUILD the infrastructure (charging stations) AND sue the oil/gas companies for knowing about climate change for DECADES (by their own wrong-doing) and not changing their behavior. The ONLY reason VW made investments into charging infrastructure (electrify america), was due to a lawsuit that FORCED them into it.

There is some disingenuousness in this reporting. Yes EVs are currently more expensive overall than ICE cars. But parity is close. So highlighting a $93k EV as the de facto price is sensationalism. You can buy a GM Bolt for $30k. Not mentioning the savings accrued through buying inexpensive electricity is also conveniently omitted. I spoke to a ten year EV owner who has calculated he has saved $20k in that time. Why didn’t you mention that side of it, MSNBC?

Here we are approaching the end of November 2023 and car lots of every brand sit packed with EVs that they cannot sell because nobody wants them! Also this video outright lies, there is no way that even if you combined new EV sales and hybrid sales that they sold 7% of the market. These things are rotting on the lot and it isn't just due to Bidenomics and Inflation but also because people do not want them because the consumer is smart enough to know these will not work for them in their daily lives. Also American's don't like being told what they can and cannot drive, own or buy by the government. They can keep these overpriced glorified golf carts rotting on the dealership lots, let the dealerships go thru the trouble of seeing how quickly even with nobody using them they experience battery drain and let them keep them long enough they'll need full battery pack replacement which is around $20,000 and cannot be performed by most mechanics or dealership service centers. Meanwhile when I put gas in my 2001 Chevy S10 ZR2 it doesn't vanish if I don't drive it for a few days, it stays exactly at the level I parked it at. Also if I need a battery for my truck one is $70 at Walmart and I can let them install it or do it myself.

We don't have the electric grid to support the vast increase in the number of electric cars, and we won't have it by 2035 either. Also, how many people like me could never afford a 64 thousand dollar car? O yeah, that is right, I can just walk 50 miles to work. Or take public transit that doesn't come out to our rural area. And then of course there is the fact that 90% the rare earth minerals that are needed to build these cars come either from China or Russia. But none of this matters to the left-leaning politicians for whom "climate crisis" functions as a neo-pagan religion. If it hurts the people (the poor) that they claim to be so concerned about, well, that is just the price that the poor will have to pay for the elites to be able to congratulate themselves that they are "saving the planet."

California had the most automobile registrations: almost 14.3 million such vehicles were registered in the most populous U.S. federal state. Watching what happened this week with the extreme rainstorms and flooding, my question is: When you have 14. 3 million electric cars that are to bevdriven in the future due to the elctric vehicle mandate, how may amps/watts will they produce to fry everyone in that state when they drive through the water and the + and - terminals short out?
