Calling something an incestual “relationship” when it started with one brother abusing the other is not right. It implies that Erik was consenting, he was abused by his father and his brother. Sexual abuse by a family member is insidious and akin to brainwashing. And sibling sexual abuse is more common than you think and not talked about enough. I respect Netflix for trying to highlight this.
@arjaygeeАй бұрын
The word is "incestuous," not "incestual." An incestuous relationship does not imply mutual consent, any more than any other type of sexual relationship does. When any type of sexual relationship, including an incestuous one, involves a partner who does not consent, or who is not capable of legal consent (due to age, mental capacity or other factors), that relationship involves abuse.

Because the only "victims" we 100% know are actually victims are the parents. They were shot multiple times in the face at close range, and the brothers have admitted to it. The murderer is now accusing the victim of a crime and the victim being accused is not even here to defend themselves. The burden of proof shifted against them once they accused their victim of a crime. And the standards of proof of that have to be very high, considering the accused is not even able to defend themselves against the accusation. That is the way the criminal justice system should work.

The way they were spending money and already getting into trouble. That money would have been long gone in a matter of years. if they're released I think that they did enough time. But I don't want to see them vindicated for Murdering their Mother. They planned the whole attack and replicated that movie the Billionaire Boys club almost exactly... buying a Jeep Wrangler and Rolexes. Yeah I've watched several documentaries on the case. I also watched the first trail on TV when it happened. I've also read the legal definition of self defense in California at the time of the crime. They were not in "imminent or immediate danger" so their self defense argument is not valid. You can't kill someone because you think they might kill you in the future, you have to be in danger at that moment. This was a premeditated ambush & execution of two people. Even if the victims were terrible abusers that doesn't justify the brothers actions. 2 things can be true at once. For instance the brothers can be both victims of abuse and murderers just as the parents can be both terrible abusers and also the victims of a homicide. In reality they killed them for money and revenge, not in self defense as they argued at trial

You must understand how experiencing that from the age of 6 at the hands of your father for more than a decade consistently… is inhumane. Death for the victim of that even moreso. Their upbringing was tragic, but they were both adults at the time of the premeditated crime and had other options than to murder their parents. At 18 years old, you are an adult in this country and can move out of your parent’s home. They had access to therapy to work through their trauma which many hard working middle class people don’t. I feel bad for the trauma they went through, but ultimately they made a choice and have to live out the consequences.

They had the mind and emotional depth of a 8 and 10 year old according to physiologists. I love how you identified the tragic story of their upbringing.
