Because Parkinson’s involves dopaminergic functions and thus many brain/body regions, it seems like a neuralink device (which to my understanding connects a few different regions, but doesn’t act directly on complex, dispersed activity…?) might be too clunky for treatment of the dopamine issue directly, but maybe could be used to treat especially problematic disease outcomes that impair quality of life, function - specific paralyses, specific areas of brain function…? This is the most hopeful and inspiring - appreciative! - comment thread I’ve read in a good long while. Great stuff! Keeping fingers crossed for Godspeed and no bullshit in making healing technology available. Super important, in ways that extend far beyond the incredible quality of life benefits that may be possible for people who are sick, their families, and communities - who will get to spend time with their friends again and people will get to get out and enjoy being alive more. I have panic disorder/agoraphobia. It’s getting worse overtime. For the last 10 years my comfort zone is within 10 miles radius of my home. I don’t want to go anywhere. Even thinking about traveling would trigger panic attacks. I’d be the first to volunteer if they are doing trials on this issue.

Quit the dangerous psych meds, they are killing you.
@Asun8882 жыл бұрын
@@moonglow6639 i know. That’s exactly the reason I stopped taking any medication 10 years ago because of the side effects,. That’s when my comfort zone became so small. It took me 3years to slowly quit the meds. I am lucky because my husband is ok with me not traveling. I choose stay home forever over taking medicine. The sad thing is I can never go back to HongKong where I came from.

Question: Why is the Neuralink getting so much more attention than BrainGate, for example? Is it really just due to the Neuralink being invisible to the eye when implemented, as opposed to the BrainGate BMI?
@NeuraPod2 жыл бұрын
That is probably part of it. Also largely due to Elon Musk's connection to Neuralink imo.

*From the moment I understood the weakness of my flesh... it disgusted me. I craved the strength and certainty of steel. I aspired to the purity of the blessed machine. Your kind cling to your flesh, as if it will not decay and fail you. One day the crude biomass that you call a temple will wither, and you'll beg my kind to save you. But I am already saved. For the machine is immortal…*

I’m definitely on board with this device helping the paralyzed and other health issues. However if you have listened to Elons long term goal for the product its to give us better interface with AI. That part could be really bad. It could potentially give the computer the ability to control us. I know Elon thinks it’s the lesser of evils to join the computers, but I’m not sure about that.

Statements like “smartwatches and phones are yesterdays technology, neurolinks are the future” which is him indicating that we ALL will have chips implanted in us. This isn’t good, let’s just perfect self driving cars and then send Elon to mars and call it a day

I'm not sure. However, I recommend reaching out to Neuralink and/ or BrainGate directly.

The type of intelligence we currently value has a specific perspective its isolated, pin pointed, focused, it is about drawing your attention to and manipulation of the finite rather than the infinite. Which has created the disability of what happens when your nose is to close to the wall paper to see the pattern in front of you... this observation is the genuine pandemic we need to tackle to ensure our survival on this planet.... FACT!

I have a solution regarding the Neuralink chip. Why don't they invent a device that analyzes risks in the human brain chip, for example, I analyze the chip and tell you that green appears, which means the chip is safe from dangers, if you find red, then the chip is dangerous if you encounter orange, it means that There are some risks. This device is only for analysis and teach you how to solve it by artificial intelligence
