My grandmother, who was the seamstress in her town, taught me about quality fabrics, quality clothing construction, how to care properly for your clothes...so I loved this discussion about timeless elegance and avoiding trendy fashions. That having been said, I will be glad when the trendy beard and half-beard look is over. Timeless elegance includes being well-groomed and clean... scruffy or God forbid LONG facial hair downgrades even the most expensive outfit. Sorry Mr Tailor Guy! You would look so much more elegant clean-shaven. Show off that youthful face while it's still young! 😉

I lived in Bogota (Chapinero) for 6 months and completely enjoyed it. Love the cool weather, and yes it has a strong European feel to it. Andrew, always enjoy these types of vids! One of my ex-business partners has a men's clothing store in Dallas (University Park) and experienced tailored suits for the first time in my 40s.

Rarely do you hear men discuss fashion with other men, or discussing it at all. It’s okay if they don’t but I’m deriving some enjoyment from hearing their dialogue….and they aren’t any less manly for doing so. 💚 Here is one thing I like that mom’s stopped teaching their boys: wearing a ribbed tank undershirt beneath dress shirts. It’s old school but I still like that. Its ‘proper’. By the way, his English is excellent.

I disagree with the tailor! I’m Colombian 🇨🇴living in NY 🇺🇸metro area married to a Turk 🇹🇷and I can say that I have gone to restaurants or even small restaurants in the outskirts of bogota because they sell an amazing cuchuco ( specialty Colombian soup) or caldo de papas 🥔 amazing potatoe soup with Colombian potatoes that are usually not found overseas. I think your tailor should live in NY or Milan instead. I love the simple life in Bogota. They have amazing restaurants, exceptional nightlife, beautiful people, and very intellectual folks. I love Turkey 🇹🇷 and I love Istanbul, Antalya and believe it or not ANKARA the capital of Turkey 🇹🇷 reminds me of Bogota!❤❤ çok güzel

I agree with not chasing trends after 30, but that didn't stop me from abandoning pleats when they went out of style. I'm surprised the whole Pee Wee Herman look in European-cut suits has held on as long as it has. Dark suede during pollen season is a big mistake btw.

I think the tailor would be a lot more credible if he cleaned himself up a bit. Get that hair washed, cut, and styled nice, and trim up the facial hair. It just looks like someone who hasn’t shaved or trimmed in two weeks. He needs clean beard lines without scraggly hairs up his cheeks and down his neck. Comb the hair, get a little product. Bed head isn’t a refined look. If the face and hair are all messy and unkempt, no one will notice how nice the suit is. The look needs to be consistent.
