I leased a half acre of irrigated ground in South east Washington this fall. I am a Forester by trade and starting a small farm is a new endeavor even though I've been exposed to farming. Your videos have been very insightful. It will save me from countless green horn errors this upcoming growing season. Thank you!

I enjoyed watching those cucumber tips! I usually grow slicers but I got a pickling crock for Christmas so I want to add some pickling cucumbers next season. I have noticed that tilling the soil before planting does away with cutworms. Klaus

To stop cutworms my father taught me to use strips of news paper . You wrap a piece about 2 inches wide around the stem about 1/2" below the soil . I do this to my tomatoes also . Great way to recycle sale flyers just do not use gloss paper does not break down fast or hold water.

You could pre sprout your seed then direct seed them. I don't know how this scales but it seems like it would work.
