Its on C class level and not on E class level when driving on the highway, wind noise is still too high. But in town or when you drive below 60 mph its on E class level.

Yeah, I noticed that there is no more front axle differential ball that you will quickly see in a solid axle in the new G-Class. Sad this might affect the off-road capability in deep ruts. They should just transform it to fully independent with portal hubs, and put the lower arm right at the centre of the wheel, in that way it will preserve the ground clearance that you will enjoy in solid axles.

Not sure some gravel roads qualify as really challenging. And come on, why would you need diff locks on those? Plus, you forgot to mention the biggest change the car has undergone, it lost its front live axle. Another one bites the dust sadly.

Alan Bowers - Absolutely. It makes sense from a marketing and business perspective, but not from an engineering one. Independent front suspension is better for road use but much worse for off-roading, which is this vehicle's niche. Look at vehicles like the Land Rover Defender and Jeep Wrangler - they consistently out perform more modern off roaders purely because they're built like trucks. There was even a video recently where the Suzuki Jimny fared better than a Range Rover.

I hope it doesn't have the very harsh ride and truck like feel of previous generations. This is the most overrated luxury Suv in the world, there's nothing luxurious about this truck's ride. Any day any time full sized Range Rovers and Lexus Lx 570 are both a better balance of luxury, comfort and off road performance. There's a reason this truck isn't a top seller in any market really. I have been in so many of them and I feel worse each time I get out of one than when I got in. I hope this 2019 model's ride is improved though, if not it's just a waste of time. If they want to maintain that harsh ride they shouldn't sell it as a luxurious vehicle, it should be marketered as an off road monster or truck. Those who buy this do so for the name nothing else. I can't imagine travelling in this thing for long distances.
