Added this to the face to my rims with two layers and one layer in the barrel and did not wipe off. Also it work well on the plastic cap where the brands logo is on. This product looks so nice!

I would buy this product. If you use it on light wheels of metal finishes you can add a Second light layer to the barrels and back if the rims and it cures to a clear finish. Makes it to where the barrels last just as long as the faces will in theory.
@ssing7113 Жыл бұрын
Been loving the product. I’ve noticed a 2 min work time before it gets real grabby. Obviously can’t say. But they say you can do barrels and leave without wiping. Super simple as all that requires work is the faces then. And doing barrels takes one minute then

If you choose to do multiple layers, how much time should you wait in between layers? And when can you start mounting them back onto the car and driving?
@Esotericdetail Жыл бұрын
I usually like to give about an hour between coatings. You can re-mount the car immediately, and drive within a few hours...just try to keep them dry for 24 hours.

How often do you recommend using the Supersport on truck wheels that isn’t driven very often but is always parked outside?
@Esotericdetail2 жыл бұрын
You can kind of gauge that when you're washing. If it looks like hydrophobics have dropped off a bit, then apply more Supersport at that time.

One thing I don't see is a "layering" recommendation or requirement. I see you mention durability as corollary to layers, however it doesn't mention if this is a "single layer" coating or not. Many newer products are only using one, while many are still REQUIRING two. Thanks!
@Esotericdetail2 жыл бұрын
If it would require multiple layers, we would call it out accordingly. This is a single layer product, and you can layer if you so desire.

The constant struggle to keep wheels clean is tiring but it makes the vehicle. I’m looking forward to trying this. How’s it work in high humidity?

The higher the humidity, the quicker you need to remove the coating.

What should you do when replacing tyres once applied?
@Esotericdetail2 жыл бұрын
As long as it isn't in the first month or so you should be good to go. Trying to apply wheel weights on freshly applied coating is where you may run into a problem.

The instructions state that on the backsides of the wheel the coating can be left to cure naturally without wiping for a thicker layer. Is this something you recommend or have tested?
@Esotericdetail2 жыл бұрын
Try at your own risk! They say that you can try that on lighter colored wheels since it would be more difficult to see any high spots.
@leviwashburn68292 жыл бұрын
Many detailers with the facilities spray many of their wheel coatings as they have self-layering properties. Goes on thicker and with proper spray settings, no noticeable orange peel.

I use Gyeon Rim to protect my alloy wheels which has good hydrophobic properties. How does this compare with Gyeon Rim?

In the Good / Better / Best realm, Stance sits above Rim (also twice the price).

Hi Todd, I noticed that you said NOT to apply wheel coating before mounting the new wheels with weights. What can I do to fix that problem? I applied the Gyeon wheel coating but have not mounted and added weights yet. (I have my new wheels coated and store for a year in my garage)

If you can't polish the entire wheel barrels, then your other best option would be to hand-polish the specific areas that require wheel weights, and wipe down that area with alcohol. This is assuming that the place mounting your tires will allow you to be part of it.

Thank you all for the replies. I’ll do that.

Great video as always from you guys! Quick question, I'm just about to coat my aftermarket wheels before they go on and was looking at Mohs EVO. It seems like a lot of the wheel specific coatings only last between 1 and 2 years whereas the likes of Mohs which isn't area specific would be upwards of 3 to 4 with multiple coats, is there any benefit to going with a more expensive product like Stance which doesn't last as long? Thanks!
@Esotericdetail2 жыл бұрын
Mohs is a good alternative for wheels, but it's not designed to take the kind of abuse that a dedicated wheel coating like Stance. For my wheels personally (unless I'm testing something), I'm going to use Stance 100% of the time.
