A vehicle of this class with a factory 4X4 system is a good idea and move on Ford's part because this type of vehicle has many uses like fire department and ambulance and tow truck power companies and other utility companies like cable telephone and natural gas and great fit for tree removal companies. The down side to vehicles classed like the F-650 and F-750 is that a factory 4X4 is not even a option and when you install a after market 4X4 system it's not matched up right for the type of vehicle it's used on.

We have Ford super duty 450s and 550s,all gas. They last 5 years in the Northeast.First the small stuff goes,then the drivetrains whine and finally the 4 wheel drives hardly work.Not bad for 60,000 smackers.

Those 7.3 gassers maybe good as heck because they are trying to copy they're legendary 7.3 Powerstroke, but they must swallow gas as a mother beeper as well because the legendary diesels kinda hogged (well then most other trucks). Comment if you agree?

Well, in some parts of the country Diesel is almost 1 dollar more a gallon than Gasoline. So you can get 5 mpg less on average than a diesel engine and still save money especially after counting in the extra diesel engine upgrade cost and maintenance like oil and fuel filters, and diesel mechanics charge more in labor.

Yes, I agree they are trying to cash in on the "7.3L” naming. Make people lament the old days of the "good 'ol 7.3L diesel." You can't tell me it was just a random happening. They literally could have chose any other displacement. I think reinventing the 460 would have been a better move, calling it a ”7.5L.” in memory of Ford's long lived big block.

This truck uses the Silverado cabs on a lower center of gravity chassis vs the older taller true medium duty Topics of the last models offered but they are rumored to be coming back later on to that larger class 6,7,8 trucks. Nope. The old F650/750 had either a Cummins 5.9, 6.7, or even a Cat engine for awhile. They are all a derated Ford 6.7 now.

I see Ford is going to give Chevy some competition in this new lower GVW class 6 range since Chevy debuted the Silverado 6500 trucks last March at the work truck show. The 2019 Silverado 6500 trucks are rated at 22,900 GVW and 4x4 options compared to the F600 rated at 22,000 GVW, so Ford is not creating a new class as what was said in the video but is in fact a year behind Chevy since the Silverado 6500 is already on the streets as we speak.

Commercial vehicles are slow for adoption of technologies. They are cost effective, it’s too much for all those gadgets when buying 5-6 trucks at a time. Then the cost of repair is just out of the box. A simple radio and simple controls is easy and cheap. Atleast they get Bluetooth now.
