New JL Wrangler Ram Assist Steering Install

I'm doing the same setup right now. I've been working on it for a couple of hours over the past two evenings. I was hoping I didn't need to remove the fender, but in order to get to the lines, it looks like a must. Any idea if you can get those caps locally?

@@davidcollins2219 I looked around at several places by me but no one had them, I would try your Jeep dealership if you have one close by. I usually order mine ahead of time from the link I put in the description, they seem to be the best price last time I checked. Good luck with the install and enjoy the new steering!

Yeah it’s been a great setup so far, I definitely will run one on all my future Jeep’s. The amount of stress it took off the stock setup is very noticeable, no more getting stuck because my wheel won’t turn on a small obstacle. Only thing I’ve done so far was upgrade my HEIM ends, the RNR ones were starting to get a little loose after a year of wheeling. Any chance you took pictures of their steering box before you put it back in? I am drilling my own box, and yours looks like they drilled in different spots than the LiteBrite video

Hey I'm interested in this but how does it do for a daily with the electric pump and what's going on with overheating do you need a cooler for this system?

I daily my Jeep everyday and it’s been totally fine. It really helps with bump steer type stuff when hitting potholes, it feels a lot firmer in that regard. One thing that is noticeable is when you turn quickly and then back again it is a tad slow but I’ve adjusted my driving habits a little, definitely not a deal breaker. In the rocks this ram is amazing, I’ve had my steering move big rocks where before it would seize up and I’d have to back off the obstacle. I haven’t noticed any overheating issues. I think it’s a good kit for what you pay for it, and their customer service is great! Let me know if you have any more questions, thanks for watching!

What diameter ram (1.5, 1.75 or 2.0) and what length did you order (6,7)? Getting ready to do the same upgrade. Thanks in advance

I have their 1.5” ram and my steering measured close to 7” so that’s what we went with. You’ll want to measure your setup though so you get the right ram the first time. Enjoy the new setup and thanks for watching Spencer!

How much does it slow down your steering when trying to turn the wheel faster than normal?

It’s only noticeable when turning one direction then back the other way super fast, think swerving around a object in the road. It isn’t bad at all, just noticeable in certain situations. After the first couple day’s driving I got used to it, now I don’t even notice it. I think the benefits you gain in steering large tires on the rocks is definitely worth the upgrade! Do you know if those lines and ram assist work with the PSC big bore gear box?
