Bill and Lisa I bet you couldn't wait to get back to Willie Mae's. No other channel promotes New Orleans better than your channel. Thanks for doing my hometown justice. In New Orleans, we love our snoballs, but the French Quarter has never been known for quality snoballs. Unfortunately, you didn't get the best New Orleans has to offer when it comes to snoballs. The best places are located away from the FQ. Be careful with those hurricanes, I've seen a bunch of lightweights have one too many and end up sleeping on the corner. Lol.

I'm from the UK and I'm not a vegan or a vegetarian but I was brought up on butterbeans! We weren't poor but most definitely weren't rich and they were a cheap filler that my mum and Grandma used to add to their stews. I still love them to this day and consider them a comfort food. Luckily my 3 children do too! Xx

Btw, very close to Willie Mae's is Loretta's Pralines for some incredible beigneits (they make a crab beigneit if you're in the mood for something savory), there are 2 locations (the other is in the French Quarter)

I went there last year for the 1st time and I agree… it’s the best fried chicken I’ve ever had . The breading is so light …nothing compares . Can’t wait to go back .

So true about the butter beans...I went there for the fried chicken and ended up obsessed with the butter beans. All in all the food there is SO good. The PG part was the best part BTW! You guys crack me up when you're drunky.

Both are pretty good. Can sometimes be a bit doughy in the center, some prefer or like it like that. We like when they’re fried a bit longer. Pretty sure you can request a ‘fried well’ beignets when ordering.
