I’ve shot Prime bows for about 4 years now. I picked up a Black 3. It shoots a 455 grain arrow 300 FPS at 70lbs and 30.5 dL. The only thing I have found is they seem to run short by about 1/2 “ on the draw length.

"this is a 420 grain arrow, a little scared to see what this is going to shoot!" - that was hilarious. Always heard the Prime cams are very efficient and your speed tests seem to agree. If I didn't have Black5 in Morel on order I would be giving you my CC # to send the one you have!

The draw at 27” was the worst I ever felt, I have a 29” draw so it wasn’t ideal but it felt wrong like something was broken or a string was dragging, when I drew it back it sounded like strings dragging over metal. I was told it was supposed to be like that. And that turned me off. I am hoping it was a problem with that one bow. If so I will be buying a black 5
@HPD25 жыл бұрын
That doesn't sound normal, I have a Prime CT3 (Previous version) with a 27" draw and its smooth as butter. It also doesn't sound or feel like some thing is dragging in the draw cycle. I would see if you can find another dealer around you and try it again.

Not sure what prime I shot, but I may have felt something similar to what you are describing. To me it felt like the serving was rubbing against itself. It was not, but that's what it felt like. It was only for about the first 2-6" of draw. Other then that it felt great in hand and through the shot. I was between the prime and a vxr. Now 9 weeks later I'm still waiting on my vxr.

To be honest .... I’m pretty used to free tune ups from any shop I buy bows from. Probably the unfortunate demise of many shops in my part of the country. I have no issue paying , none .... but it does seem to be the going thing in my neck of the woods as long as you buy from them.

As somebody who shoots Prime CT9 I'm glad to see Prime bow with rotating mods, I just didn't expect 7 piece string kit. On Prime string quality, I like the strings but I had to replace them after 6-7 months because of the serving. Serving was chewed up by small tube connectors between string and cam yokes. I wish they replace that tube with PSE like crescent moon connection.

@rickl7844 жыл бұрын
My Black5 shoots bare-shafts tilting them to the left(right nock tear}. Took it back to the shop and rest adjustments are not fixing the problem, [neither do spine changes} I shoot the same bare-shafts with my other bow. My dealer refused to make any cam shimming adjustments. They keep telling me they never paper tune nor bare-shaft tune their bows las long as fletched arrows are hitting the target straight, which mine is, too. What should I do? This is really bugging me. I went to a different shop, same thing. Third shop didn't want to mess with it , either.
@InsideOutPrecision4 жыл бұрын
Man, those are some lazy pro shops. You really can't tell anything by how the arrow is sitting in the target. You need to shoot it through paper to see what its doing, then use the different size shims instead of moving your rest all over the place. If they don't believe you, tell them to talk to their Prime rep and he should set them straight.
@rickl7844 жыл бұрын
@@InsideOutPrecision Thank you for your response. I did paper tuning and as expected I was getting right nock tears. Just can’t find a good pro shop to help me.

The Klutzy Outdoorsman have they switched to making their premier line of bows with a machined limb pocket yet? It seems kind of lame to charge $1100 for a bow that is still using plastic limb pockets. I know it doesn’t matter strength wise but it should be reflected in the retail cost

40lbs 26" draw 900gr's 700 fps Haven't even tuned it yet, id expect fps too turn into meters per secong when i do 🤣🤣🤣 I get that impression from alot of bow videos, not so much you guys here at InsideOutPercision but ive definitely seen some high and low numbers depending upon brand and which KZbinr it is. But i have never been able too get 340fps with a bow at 29"/70# especially with a 7 inch brace height. Maybe 72# at 30.5" draw with no nock, string loop or peep out of a shooting machine..... all im saying is some companies DRASTICALLY exaggerate their IBO ratings, Prime have usually been as close as anyone. (For the record, props too PSE for turning it around and being honest with their IBO ratings, like they have in the past)... and by over rating IBO numbers, yes I specifically mean Obsession, they've been the most optimistic like 25fps or more in some some cases, but all companies do it, even if its just too round off... maybe this decade will change that, we're off too a good start with more and more companies being honest or more honest about the speeds they've actually getting
