I think that the real problem is there are too many people that can't just leave other people alone, including the ones that really SHOULD be left alone. And if there is another Civil War, it would be decided with guns, it will be with WMDs. For hundreds of years, people died so that our nation could remain. Let's not throw it away because the guy next door won't use your pronouns or doesn't like guns. The USA is uniquely nearly immune to actual physical threats (outside of nuclear) due to its geography and its control of the continent. If it were to split into two nations, a war could easily broil over hundreds of years. If we can't work in unity now, there's no guarantee we ever will. Differing opinions makes the country better, not worse, and splitting it up is just a bandaid. After a split, it's only a matter of time before the Left half becomes a debate between Liberals (like Maher) and Wokeists, and the right half becomes a debate between Libertarians and Fascists. Do we just keep subdividing down until we're 50 tiny countries? That is nonsense. America is BETTER for having more views. Disagreeing with people and finding compromises is not a downside.

People open up to sincerity and honesty without manipulation and hidden motives. That is why Jordan Peterson, Joe Rogan, and Russell Brand have such large youtube audiences for just having 3 hour open, transparent, and thought out conversations with people that many times have contrasting views to themselves. The last politician that has changed my views was Ron Paul, specifically because he painted how horrible it is to send just one person to a death sentence for a crime they didn't commit, which has been an issue even up into the modern era. I had to rethink my views on the death penalty realizing I too would rather people have life in prison rather than the death penalty if it just save one person for dying for something they didn't do. He also radically changed my view of drugs from taboo for irresponsible idiots and criminals to a civil liberty that rational free people of the proper age should have the freedom to partake in, accepting all the consequences of course. If you didn't notice, Ron Paul was one of the only politicians that was known by both parties as being genuine in his beliefs and convictions, and overall, uncorruptible.

The problems in the USA/ the planet aren't the political beliefs of people, nor their outrage towards evil minds. It is messages like his here to ignore the vile actions of rich elite men. Killing people isn't an answer to take unless it's a life and death situation; "forgiving" them isn't enabling and or ignoring them, forgiveness is a personal feeling that shouldn't be confused with opening the facts of the horrors, addressing them accordingly. Defending Bezos because you don't like Musk, is ignoring the horrors of both each of these people that contribute to horrors in politics, etc. It's a club, and they depend heavily on misinformed people and those ignoring injustices. I disagree heavily with his "STFU" stance on the actions of Bezos, but then they have Yang on the same segment who was promoted by Musk and who even after the facts has continued to promote Musk and Grimes, both who are very vile and thoughtless people, making the point, ironically. It is ignoring injustice that has gotten society where it is at; it is the same stances of ignore this here now that got each of the horror world wars to go where they went. The difference in this time is, you have a lot more to lose, and a lot worse to gain / unleash. It is not the time to ignore anything or anyone, anywhere. They sat for three hours around the breakfast table talking about positivity, social justice & socialism. At one point I heard one of them start to talk about her cat's vet visit & the conversation turned to veterinary doctor income. The last thing I heard before it became apparent that they were totally lost in their political identity was; "well the suicide rate of vet's is so high because they make than 100k a year!" The inconsistency of their conversation & stance was lost on them entirely. Ultimately I think republicans are frustrated because they want things dealt with in a straightforward manner without all the of emotion, victimhood & chaos. If your idea of "getting things done" means you'll do anything and crush anyone standing in your way to do it, you're doing a bad thing. And that's what the Republican party is doing right now. Many of their policies are based on propaganda, ridiculous conspiracy theories, and other lies. Getting those things done will only harm the people, but yeah, "things" will be "done", so I guess it's okay, right? Take abortion, for example. I have never met a person who wanted there to be more abortions in the world. Both parties want there to be less of them. However, the Republicans are stuck in their simplistic religious view of sin and outlawing the sin, while the Democrats actually go and ask "Is this the best way?" And as it turns out, no, just flat-out banning abortion is not the best way. That's not just an opinion, we have tons of studies to support that conclusion. Without thinking about what they're doing, the only things the Republicans "get done" are suffering and misery of the population. I fail to see how some women thinking some weird stuff about the connection between the salaries of vets and their suicide rates could possibly balance out something like that.

Most republicans have moved to the middle and their views align more with old school liberals. That’s why people get confused to which side Bill is on. I see so many say that Bull has taken the Red Pill, but that’s not the case. It’s just the political shift has moved left, especially socially. Drama and woe is me is their drug of choice, the methadone of a good man who values her just doesn't offer the same kick (or punch) as her addiction. To be honest, there is great fun and humor watching her frantically try to convert a good man to drama giving, victimization, abuser, but no matter what she says and how hard she goes with attempts at physical abuse, he doesn't bite and she ends up tiring herself out after a relentless pursuit of abuse conversion. I will say that not everyone who lives in the country is right-wing & not everyone who lives in the city is left-wing, so if he's talking to a group of right-wingers, like ya'll, of course he's going to get applause trashing a city. Right-wingers today always attack cities as "cesspools" b/c city governments tend to be overwhelmingly controlled by Democrats & in their mind (your mind?), anything associated with Democrats is bad, stupid, evil, deserving of scorn, etc. P. S. Having grown up in the country & now living in Columbus OH, I can say that there are wonderful things about both. In the past 12 years at least, Columbus has often won recognition as the best library system in the country by the ALA, has had the best zoo in the country the last few years, & the best science center. We have an outstanding Metro Parks system, and green spaces everywhere, including downtown. There are deer walking through neighborhoods in Clintonville & Worthington. There are plenty of free community meals offered by churches, open to anyone, and it's nice for those of us without families to have somewhere to go on Thanksgiving Day & Christmas Day. There are community vegetable gardens, pollinator gardens, & "Little Libraries" everywhere. Fireworks on Independence Day & Christmas light shows & displays are spectacular. Every year the Convention Center downtown hosts the Origins gaming convention which I attend for all 5 days every year (not this year b/c COVID), to play the newest boardgames w/ other enthusiasts. If I didn't live in the city, I'd have to pay for a hotel to attend all these things. But getting to all the fireworks & Christmas light displays & the Convention Center is easy once you develop a habit or tradition re where to park & what buses to ride, as I have. So I do love Columbus. Like every city, though, the downtown & poorer parts of town are dirty & I see homeless people all the time. Many are mentally ill. Some are addicted to alcohol or drugs. There are areas where it's safe at night & areas where it's dangerous. I also don't like trans ideology on display everywhere. I'm lesbian myself, and I'd be relieved if they NEVER had another Pride event in Columbus. I haven't gone to one of those in probably 15 years. Pride is well past its expiration date. So is Stonewall. The T has completely taken over to the point where there is now hostility toward ACTUAL gay people like lesbians who don't want to have sex with men who claim to be women! And now every other letter of the alphabet wants to glom onto us. The T should never have been added in the first place b/c it's completely different from the LGB. LGB & heterosexual are sexual orientations. Fetishes occur among people of all sexual orientations, and "gender identity" has nothing to do with sexual orientation! In fact, the language is changing so fast now among the woke that people are using the term "gender orientation" instead of sexual orientation b/c they want to treat biological sex as not being real while "gender identity" is what people really are. W.T.Actual.F?! To them, sexual orientation is MEANINGLESS, so if you're lesbian & don't want to have sex with someone with a penis, then you are a bigot & transphobe. This is just a way for hetero men to finally get into lesbians pants by claiming to be women & therefore claiming they are lesbian. It's all an absurd, bizarro world where women no longer exist as biological adult human females but only as an idea about himself in some man's mind! Stonewall, HRC, & Pride should have been dissolved when same-sex marriage was achieved. Now it's "all TQ+, all the time." Now, instead of helping LGB people in places where there is ACTUAL hate & persecution, like Russia or Iran or Uganda, they make up oppression in western countries that isn't there. (This is the favorite passtime of millennials & other woke enablers of the crybully culture.) Pride has become so corporatized with businesses virtue signaling their support, and it's been taken over by furries & men of all sexual orientations parading their fetishes where children can see. Take that garbage out of here & don't you dare associate ME with that shit! The Library system, with it's many services & affiliates, Metro Parks, & annual events alone make this a great city in which to live. That doesn't mean I'm blind to its faults or that I can't laugh about things we do or allow that are ridiculous. Cities have personalities, just like individual humans or animals. Some are more pleasant than others.

On the reverse side of the spectrum, I read about vaccinations being mandatory in healthcare fields and tried to understand what the issue was. No question Social Media and the 24 hour news cycle has hastened the discontent with each other in this country by a couple of decades. But, the root cause has always been the ever increasing hostility and partisan one-upsmanship our "two party" political system has been experiencing for the past 40 years. This 2 party democracy has come to it's logical head and that was predictable and scholars have predicted it long ago. After enough friction....there will be fire. No, you can't, not without losing your whole reason for being. Trying to dominate others and impose your vision of the good life is what gives you a sense of purpose and mission. Look, we can be friends as neighbors. You can be friends with all kinds of people provided they don't control your life, so let's get an amicable divorce and part ways as friends. The U.S. is a ridiculous continent nation. Let's break it up and celebrate difference the only way that matters or works, by letting people **actually** **be** **different**!! No, we don't need another "Confederacy". Thanks for that cheap shot, Maher. We need to break up the U.S. into 100 Swiss-style cantons. A "nation" of 330 million is a ludicrous absurdity.
