So I've been applying the Gold Bond retinol overnight cream to my face at the end of the night as a last step, about 3 hours after I do my main skincare, in which I have also used a retinol. So far so good! My skin feels softer and smoother than ever. I know Dr. Dray doesn't recommend this doubling up but in case anybody was interested in trying, so far I haven't experienced any irritation and it's been about a week. This Gold Bond retinol is worth its weight in gold!

22:07 Hair becomes more curly with age for some people (if you have heterozygous genes for curly hair...which if you have wavy, then you could). :) Same thing happened to me. I'm 44 so I now treat my hair more like a wavy to curly type. I have a wetbrush in the shower, only brush it when it has conditioner in it. Flip hair and scrunch wringing out the water, put in microfiber towel while getting ready. Don't brush...you can blow dry with a diffuser or air dry.

I really love the Timeless Co Q 10 serum. I think it is really making a difference. This is my dermatologist rule. Whatever I use on the face use on my hands. My age spots have faded and I haven’t had eczema breakouts for a year now.

My hair have gotten more textured with “wise” age. (As a side note, I still wash it every day, something that has eliminated 99% of the scalp itch I used to have when I washed it 3 times a week. )

Right?! I’m so done with the new trends about not washing your hair every day and that it’s bad for your hair and blah blah blah 😑 We don’t all have the same hair type and we all have different hair requirements.

Plus, if you really have issues with dry ends...you can always lightly oil them or put on some hair mask before you wash. That way, the shampoo has something to grab on to, as you rinse out your hair. This worked really well for me, when I still had my long mane. I always had to shampoo 4-5 days/week because of heavy exercise.

I solved the scalp itch, (and worse, the hives, gross) by changing to shampoo with *no* sodium laureth sulfate. I had tried washing with apple cider vinegar rinse - to no avail - but SLS-free products work like a charm. I further stopped using shampoo at all, and instead use one of those "conditioning cleanser" products, and only wash 2-3 times a week now and my hair is soft and not oily. No more scalp itch or hives, and now need just one product in place of using a separate conditioner, win-win!!

Wanted to share my reasonably priced makeup remover. I use Pond’s Cold Cream Make-Up Remover -Amazon has a 6.1oz jar for $9. It removes every bit of makeup including eye makeup. It’s not messy…doesn’t run off face. Apply all over face brows eyes and onto lashes like it’s mascara. Leave on for 1 minute then just tissue off. Follow with a gentle liquid face wash.

Love your comment about the Apple power cords. I think we all share the disdain for Apple on this one. My father is really old and well past retirement but he was always encouraged to have secretaries and research assistants do the computer work for him. He is a metallurgical engineer and has an MBA. He was slow on the computer yet very accomplished in his field. Every assistant went on to greater things. I think this was old school mentoring.

My mother is in her 90s and has been using crystal deodorant sticks for the last 30 years. It works well for her. I tried one for a few months and the crystal salts did not stand up to the Texas heat and humidity. I don't mind sweating but it did not reduce or prevent underarm odor for me.

Lovely as always to spend time with you. Imo, you are kind, wise, and generous, so when you "keep it zipped" as we all must do, I'm sure you're only keeping rational thoughts to yourself. I feel like I did that all my life and it works for getting along with people. People like you. But it's harder and harder to stifle exasperation as you get older, mainly on things that cause harm to us all. In "wiser" years, a lifetime of experience makes harmful things easier to recognize. And after a lifetime, it becomes harder to stifle. A recurring thought is "don't you see where this is leading?" Then you feel like you're becoming old and grumpy. I admire people who handle this well, and I'm trying. Still enjoy when you call things out because you care.

Hi doctor I have gotten much wave your hair over the years as well so I am not too happy about it since I straighten my hair. I would think what you do to your hair when it’s wet by twisting it and putting it up would cause it to really get wavy on top of your natural waviness. Maybe you should try a different way like either drying it with some heat or just letting it dry down and straight. Have a lovely day

I'm pretty sure that, if push came to shove, a person has a First Amendment (Constitutional) right to take photos in public places, including parks - any park anywhere in the US. But, you'd need to go through the process of refusing to stop photographing, get arrested/cited, go to court, etc., to get the policy rescinded. Not everyone is willing to push back like that.

Hi Dr. Dray, I'm very new here and new to any kind of skin care. Been binging on your videos and think I'm off to a good start! "Keep it simple, guys..." - I get it!! Kudos! While my question is a little off topic, I MUST ask: what's the name of that little ditty you play at the end of each video?! Thank you soooo much!

I believe you can use alpha Arbutin and Kojic acid long term. Hydroquinone can only be used short term

Oh my golly I was just in Whole Foods yesterday, which is a rarity (the 365 frozen broccoli is the best frozen broccoli I ever had so that is pretty much the sole reason I go, to stock up on it) and there was this palm reading device at the cashier. I was wondering what that was, and here you are mentioning it.

Have you had any issues with the Undefined R&R sunscreen separating? I had to shake the bottle way, way too long to get it to come together. I shook it a bunch, then left it upside down (not easy with the pointy tip) shook again. I did that like three times. What is up and does that affected the protection ability? What a pain in the butt.

I had the same problem with the last two bottles of R&R after really liking the previous two bottles. I returned the last two bottles to ULTA and they refunded those purchases. I'm using CeraVe tinted SPF 30 and it's good.

@@judywerderits3147 I don’t think I’ll repurchase it. I’ll stick with the colorscience and elta md elements. Both work well for me. I wanted to try the Cerave but was hoping they’d come out with a higher spf. If I’m working out in the yard I’ll use the Australian Gold. That doesn’t budge.

I wonder if it’s because of all the record heat. Maybe it’s getting cooked too much during shipping to stores. I would expect that would affect efficacy

@@Hemmyii that’s not the case for mine because I’ve had it a couple of months. It was fine at first but then became harder to shake it.

I went into whole foods for the first time yesterday and boy was I out of my element. Growing up on the edge of lower middle class suburbs I grew up going to Walmart and aldi. The prices are exorbitant, the "no toxins, clean, etc," and the people stared at me like I didn't belong. It was an unsettling experience.

It's ok if the Apple power cords fray and wear out - because they keep changing the connector on their devices and you need to buy a new one anyway. Yes, I'm mocking them - see my other comment about being blunt.

@@21972012145525 Well I meant it as sort of a joke, but in fact, iPhones are now mandated by thr EU to switch from the Lightening connector to USB-C by sometime next year. The MacBook switched in 2015 and the iPad in 2018.

Hello! I wanted to know your thoughts on people using ivermectin on their face for rosacea. I’ve been seeing a lot of videos of people saying they have gone and bought it from a tractor supply store. Not sure how true this but people believe the mites we have on our faces can be a cause for rosacea?
@keekeejenkins6162
@keekeejenkins6162 Жыл бұрын
Soolantra is prescription ivermectin in a cetaphil base and it's $$$$$$.... It's prescribed to rosacea patients-so I get why people buy hp at tsc. The demodex on skin is a thing, some people have more demodex than others b/c of genetics, the mites like a certain flave of skin oils and cause irritation when they creep out of pores at night. I guess that's gross sounding😅 NatGeo had a really good article about it, it's behind a pay wall now though.
