However you look at it, from either side of the fandom, it's only a minority of the fandom that are vocal about it online. The silent majority spoke loud and clear though, the Acolyte was 🐕💩 or they would have kept watching it. When the viewership dropped by about 60% within the first 3 weeks of release, you failed. SWT has 3+ mill followers, Nerdrotic 1+ mill. The Disney Star wars shills channel SW explained has a 800k+ following The Acolyte had a 6.8 mill viewership on the season finale. Mando S2 had a viewership of 27.2 mill. Sometime between Mando S2 and The Acolyte, approx 21 million people in the US alone silently checked out and didn't come back. There are no 21 million people around online giving their opinions. The Acolyte had like 50k audience reviews on RT, the "renew the Acolyte" petition has around 70k signs and The Force Awakens sold 111 million tickets just to put it into perspective. There is without a doubt a silent majority within the fandom

in all fairness, part of the equation in that regard is/was SW fatigue, or rather a different way of saying it is that the stock was already dropping. and in that sense, basically her project was EXTRA poorly positioned as a follow-up to Asshoka…. 😅 *edit for context: that show had majorly lost A LOT of goodwill with the fanbase by putting out a really flawed product with poor writing/acting, girl bossing, and really odd lore-building (primarily jumping the shark with a crude climax of questionable force abilities granted to an unlikeable random mandojedi 🙄); basically, that show had set the latest precedent for questioning the integrity of the SW product at this point, given how it squared a completely unique niche IP audience’s good will, too (clone wars fans) gotta be real about some things: ANOTHER female lead etc etc basically doubling-down on that by making it space lesbians & doing a press-tour about how it’s literally “the gayest ever” was just absolutely setting it up to fail… and that’s wholly logical and reasonable without any bigger conspiracy theory - ie the PREDOMINANTLY MALE FANBASE simply didn’t watch it at that point AND she has no one but herself to blame for her ties to the infamous Harvmister, which ALSO truly doomed her own public image, too… … and then sweet summer child twerking up a PR sheetstorm was REALLY a nail in the coffin moment 😂 … ALL OF THOSE THING are simply in conjunction with the fact that the actual story, characters, and acting were an absolute abomination 😂

I was first introduced to star wars as a child when the phantom menace was showing in cinemas. I loved it, and as a girl I can't begin to explain how amazing Padme was to me. She's a wonderful female character, and strong in the right ways, plus her outfits were so beautiful! Then later seeing Leia in the original trilogy just made me feel so happy to have these well written beautiful and strong characters in movies. I even named my old dog after Princess Leia. I want more well written women characters like Padme, Leia and Ahsoka (clone wars). I absolutely hate the new female characters in star wars (well besides Shin Hatti) and Cara Dune :(

There is a behavior that you will see in a person every once in a while - it follows this form: they will announce verbally or in writing that they think they are evil and they like it. After watching the show, and listening to her in interviews, I am convinced Headlamp is a sociopath. The Acolyte is the equivalent of making a show about the BTK killer and trying to make him sympathetic. She is trying to humanize monsters, which is interesting considering she was the personal assistant to one. On top of that, the writing is similiar to 4th grade fan fiction. It has more plot holes and contradictions than any other piece of media I have ever seen.

I actually enjoyed the Acolyte for what it attempted to do - tell a new story. It was deeply flawed, but the actors and crew did put their all into a lack luster script.
