Hello all, if you wish a new stucco finish over your existing stucco by adding a new color and texture.
If your stucco finish is close to 50 to 80 years old and beat up by dirt, dust, or wear and tear for a thousand different reasons, you have options other than painting.
The best choice is to apply a new stucco finish to freshen up your existing integrated stucco finish with a new color and/or texture, as we did in this video.
They had painting estimates that were more expensive than our coat to apply another color finish. However, painting enhances flaws, which they had many.
Most homeowners are unaware that they can have a new stucco color applied at a less expensive coat than a painted finish and that the colored stucco lasts decades.
We are trying to educate most folks on their options through our video.
The advantages and benefits of spreading a stucco finish coat colors are fifty to seventy times thicker than paint deepened on the sand grit chosen.
This is why stucco medium or heavy sand finishes cover/hide imperfections in existing stucco finishes and why painting enhances these flaws.

When applying a brown coat over existing (painted stucco) is it important to pressure wash the house first? The house is 30 years old and the heavy finish stucco was painted. My stucco guy says he's just going to wash it down with a hose (before putting brown coat on). And he will put the bonding agent in the mix (not on the wall like you suggest). Does the bonding agent go on the brown coat or the color coat? I'm afraid he may be cutting corners and I should find another contractor?? His price is good...but... Thank you for your input :)

Hi guys! My home's 50 year old painted stucco exterior that I'm going to refinish has prior surface and crack repair work done with what appears to be a chalky white product. When I scrape through the hairline or larger cracks in the painted surface, it comes off like sheet rock mix/joint compound. It's not rock solid like a presto patch. Is this shoddy work, and if so, what should I do to remediate before all the great techniques you've show us here? (base, tapping, bonding agent, and finish). I'm unsure how far the extent of it is under the paint.

You right Kirk what a country. But we have people trying their damness to take that way of life away from us. When we become a communist country, we will no longer that freedom of work and enjoyment to life!

can you change the color of Portland cement or rapid set if you add a particular sand to it ? Because I used rapid set and that stuff is super white when it dried. Its so white now it looks like I painted it.
