Dr. Dray, I'm wearing sunscreen every day for the first time in 34 years because of you! I've never found one that worked with my sensitive skin (I break out with everything, including anything with niacinimide so yay for these Eucerin ones) until I tried the La-Roche Posay Melt-in that you recommended in your favorites. Now, I feel like the skincare I do is actually worth it because I'm protected from the sun!

I used to love those formulas but now (I'm on a anti acne traitement that makes my skin ultra sensitive...) I can not use it anymore... And it is soooo hard to find a sunscreen that is ok with sensitive skin, but which is not heavy/white/ultra thick 😅!

In case anyone was wondering, the only difference between the Age Defense and Oil Control sunscreens is that the Age Defense one has hyaluronic acid and the Oil Control one doesn't. For the Oil Control sunscreen, L-Carnitine is a bit higher on the list. Otherwise, the ingredients lists are identical.

I can't wait to try the Age Defense, fingers crossed it won't bother my eyes. It looks beautiful on you, and great price! My fave is the EltaMD UV Elements. That's the one I use when I'm running errands or have to be around people other than my family, the finish is gorgeous on my mature skin. Most days when I'm just around the house I look for cheaper alternatives. Currently using Isntree Watery Sun Gel (love, but a bit too glowy for public use) and DRMTLGY Physical Universal Tinted Moisturizer (love that it's super moisturizing, but makes me look really greasy). I've used DRMTLGY for a few years now but will not repurchase. Also, the price keeps creeping up. Hoping the Age Defense can replace this. When walking the pup, I'm in the Australian Gold tinted. It holds up really well while sweating and although a bit drying for my skin, it's only on for an hour per day. I also throw on my neck garter from Coolibar and that has been the biggest gamechanger for my neck skin. Truly one of the best things I've purchased. Thank you Dr. Dray, your work is amazing.

@@sakuramessage I purchased the Eucerin Advanced Hydration sunscreen as well, have to say I agree with the commenter. Glowy but not oily or heavy even after reapplication, granted I have sort of in between skin where some days I'm an oil factory and other days I'm dry as the desert. Generally didn't find it burning my eyes unless I was too heavy handed (ie. smeared about a tablespoon on at once in a rush because I was running late). I think it does have a bit of an odd smell though, almost reminds me of tires, goes away pretty fast as long as you're not sitting in a car(small enclosed space) or wearing a mask soon after application which I think goes for all sunscreens (at least for me personally). Also I got it at CVS and it was more like $19 than $13, thought it was on sale but it wasn't, needless to say better to get it at Target or Walmart if your in the States.

I’ve been using Eucerin Oil Control Dry Touch sunscreen (EU formula) for a year. So far it is the best sunscreen for oily skin in humid climate. The ingredients of the USA version are a bit different from the EU version. There is wax and Vitamin E in the USA version but not in the EU version. Maybe these two ingredients contribute to the shininess. While EU version has tapioca starch which may help reduce the shininess. EU version also has more UV filters. By the way, after this video was published, I noticed the Eucerin sunscreen ran out of stock here in Malaysia’s online stores. Probably many people purchased it after watching the video :)

I LOVE the hero sunscreen! Found it a couple months ago at my local Target. I have super dry skin so during these winter months (which are quickly getting behind us at this point), I have to first put on a moisturizer before putting on the sunscreen. I think during the hot and humid summer months of GA, I will not need any moisturizer before the sunscreen. This isn't heavy at all, it spreads really nicely, and it basically disappears on my skin (no whitecast) within minutes of applying. I am very fair-skinned, so I'm not sure how people with darker shades of skin would do with this one. I have sensitive skin and have not had any irritation from any of the ingredients, but it's good to know that some of them may potentially cause irritation.

Dr Dray we can finally buy CeraVe in The Netherlands, not all products but it is a start. I am gagged.

I hear ‘Eucerin’ anything, and I immediately go to look it up. Thank you so much. We usually skip or have a short Spring here, and jump right into awful heat and humidity. I always have hope, though.

I love the cosmetic elegance of alcohol-based SPFs. I suffer from facial eczema and the alcohol in it has never triggered any flares for me, it doesn't dry my skin out at all. My favourite is Ombrelle's Ultra Light Face SPF (I'm in Canada)

I may have to pick up the first sunscreen for my mom (and myself)! I’ve been nagging my mom about using sunscreen (especially since she picked up gardening last year). Last week we were in Target and picked up two Eucerin lotions so I think she’ll like the sunscreen too 🤞

I'm so glad you love the Eucerin sunscreens, I live in Scotland so they've been available here for a while. I've been using the oil control one everyday for a year now, I love it so much that I've been nervous to try anything else but I'll give the age defense one a go once I've used up the 3 bottles I have!!

Great vid ! Thank you.....BTW, one of your favs, is now one of my favs, and that would be good 'ole Cerave in the tub! I'm in LOVE. When I'm at work, (none sterile procedures,), I slather on this stuff and thrown on 2 pairs of gloves, and it's fantastic. It has a faint smell that I love, and it's so good on the face ! Oh, and the Aveeno Restorative Balm. LOVE !!! Have a great day 😃

Hi there, I‘m from Germany and the Oil Control has been my absolut go to product for many years since they released it. But the US formula is totally different. The German version used to be very lightweight like a lotion and was not waterresistant. They reecently changed the formula for German market - again, not like the US version. It claims now to be water resistant. I bought a bottle but haven‘t tried it out yet. Hope I will still like it…

Thank you for sharing! I was curious about a couple of these. I’m currently using and loving the Eucerin Oil Control Sun Gel Cream SPF 50+ (not a US sunscreen though).

Just started to use very moisturing sunscreen because my skin on tretinoïne is so much dryer🔥! I Love the fact that on busy morning I can just wear my 2 sérums and my sunscreen as a day cream and I'm good to go👍🏻💫

Dr. Dray, have you heard about EVY sunscreen? It is from Sweden and they claim they have a patent that the sunscreen penatrates deeper, therefore is effective for at least 6 hours. I bought it for my kiddos, as they cannot reapply sunscreen by themselves at school, so that can be a big relief for me, knowing they are protected from 8am -2pm. They don't sell in the States. I bought it from an online UK vendor, and the shipment to CA was not expensive. Would really appreciate your thoughts on this product, as reapplying sunscreen is a big issue to so many. Thank you!!

She has a video on it, why you need to reapply sunscreen. Lab Muffin has one as well.

EVY is my favorite sunscreen. I have super sensitive, temperamental skin. I have never broken out from it which is a miracle. I don't even use a moisturizer underneath and I have dry skin. The Kids 50 version works best for me (though I am 63). It has the least amount of ingredients. Cuz it's pricey, I only use it on my face, neck, upper chest, hands, feet. It has kept me white as a ghost (the regular 50 I can use on my body, not my face. For body: I use Altruist 50 (though it irritates my face) or Blue Lizard 50 for sensitive skin (also irritates my face) or something local. I was suspect because EVY is a foam but it is a sheer delight to use. I will say, it might take some time to learn the proper amount. Your face will tell you if you've used too much. It will feel icky. I think EVY's Instagram account shows the right amount - golf ball size. I reapply, despite claims, wear big glasses and hat. I order from Ifsogo (an EVY-approved retailer to the states. I live in NYC) but you have to buy six bottles at a time...water-resistant, no scent. You will need an oil cleanser to remove. I use Apothaka Comforting EO Free Oil Cleanser (which I was also skeptical of but never has it broken me out) and follow it up with Vanicream Gentle Face Cleanser (only use a little or it will dry you out. But after the oil, it never feels drying). And then retinol and Vanicream Moisturizing Cream (if you find that too heavy, on wet skin, it's not).

i absolutely LOVE the hero cosmetics sunscreen! i go it when it first come out and have loved it ever since. chemical sunscreens make my skin really itchy so i’m glad it’s 100% mineral! i will admit i’m not fond of the long ingredient list but it hasn’t irritated my skin
