Took me hours to figure out how to actually "hear" my Zoom sound coming back to OBS (CABLE-B). To anyone else on Win10 struggling with this, here's what worked for me: 1) Right-Click on the Speaker icon in the bottom right corner of windows 2) Click "Sounds" 3) Click on the "Recording" tab 4) Find "CABLE-B Output" and right-click then go to "Properties" 5) Go to the "Listen" tab and check the box for "Listen to this device" 6) If you're not getting sound, check what is selected under "Playback through this device" but for me leaving it as "Default Playback Device" worked. Video doesn't address this at all, neither does their write up...many hours of frustration for me, hopefully this saves someone else the trouble I went through!

The video interface into Zoom works fine, but a lot of people can't get the audio to work. There is a referral to the full blog tutorial for more information, so I will go there. Like many, if not most of the commentators, I can't get audio to work working just from this video. I appreciate and like the video. This video is a great concept, I watched it through 3 times because I was sure it would work. However, I'm sad to say this did not work for me. I've followed your steps exactly and have two big issues. 1. My mic doesn't seem to pick up at all through the virtual cables. (I'm able to directly access the microphone, but not by selecting the cables.) 2. And this wasn't addressed at all in this video. I cannot hear other person I'm zooming with. Martin Hanson It seems every computer is a little different, if you’re not even picking up your voice thru the mic, my guess is that you need to play with how you’re routing your audio. Like I mentioned in my comment, I had to manually adjust a few things for my setup. It took some time, but it was worth individual testing my audio routing. (I’m still not sure how to get audio from another individual to come through zoom.. but hey, one problem at a time. Lol.) I hope that helps a little.

Did you turn on the Monitor and Output via OBS Audio Mixer? If the audio levels are moving then the suggestion above is the only fix. Alternatively you might need to connect your PC to an external speaker to hear the sound. Generally, I setup zoom to send audio and video into OBS, I rarely send back OBS Audio into Zoom (since it doesn't make much sense unless you are playing music or a video, which in this case I would play directly from Zoom).

I've been working on this for quite awhile. Zoom actually seems to give OBS a hard time trying to stream a window capture. Anyways if you livestream your ZOOM call with OBS, it streams the audio from the other person's microphone, but your audio isn't sent to the livestream. The easiest way to fix this is let Zoom use your built in mic, or cheap mic. Your friend on the other side of Zoom will hear that audio. Now you need to add a second mic to OBS for your livestream to send to KZbin. So, one cheap mic gets sent from Zoom to your friend. Another mic is added to OBS and that gets streamed to KZbin,

Awesome tutorial! I'm a little confused though. B is the speaker output of Zoom thus giving the ability to connect it to OBS. In OBS A is an input to receive sound from B. Then A is used as the virtual audio cable that connects back to Zoom. My question is: "Wouldn't there be a feedback loop or echo sent to the people in the conference?" Your pumping Zoom's audio out of OBS. Then Zoom's audio out of OBS and back into Zoom. Is my understanding incorrect? I understand with the Advanced Audio Settings you can select different audio input and output capture sources you may monitor and output. I would assume I'd disable any devices that I don't want streamed or outputted back to Zoom. Did I miss something in the video tutorial? If I did understand the connection scheme correctly, is there a technical reason that the Zoom users won't hear an echo of me or themselves? I'd really like to avoid capturing Desktop Audio and wearing headphones to prevent feedback. I really like the approach you are explaining. I have a final follow up question. When I stream this to Social Media, will there be any technical issues I may run into? Thanks a lot for your great information and tutorials! Thanks in advance for any answers! I have done this and I have concurrent zoom and obs sharing but have a video feedback loop thus: Video from the zoom window is captured by obs using a 'windows capture' feature in a scene. So the zoom video is sent to obs and streamed. And the obs virtual camera is capturing obs output and taking that to my zoom video input. So my zoom has the current overall zoom display output fed back to it via obs virtual camera. This feedback adds to the image input which again goes to the zoom output, into obs, and back via the virtual camera and so on. This causes an infinite set of nested images on my particular window. Other zoom users are not replicated they just see my window having the replications (and I am not using the zoom on the obs machine for my zoom attendance as it is only used to link into obs). If we put the speaker in speaker view (not gallery) then the replication is not noticed in the thumbnail image. EDIT : I have since seen the zoom option to turn off my self view. This suppresses my window which is the one with the multiple video recursions. All sorted now.

Great content, saved me some time. One question, I am able to get my virtual camera going and see what I want broadcasted in Zoom, but I have another camera to focus on a peripheral device as well. Every time I enable OBS in Zoom, I get the non stop infinity action in zoom. I am stuck here. Any suggestions anyone? This is my first time using this. Thanks again for your content!

Looks sophisticated, but how is this different than combination of - window capture (zoom) - desktop audio (record everything plays from computer?)
@karmakaaja4 жыл бұрын
Well, I am not sure but I think that when you use window capture in OBS, this way you only get the screen from Zoom to OBS not audio, right? And in case that you want to re-stream to other platforms from OBS everything what is happining in Zoom then you won`t be able to do that only with capturing window because you will not have the audio from Zoom. Or how would you like to get the audio from Zoom to OBS other way then through virtual cabel? I am also not sure how it works with Virtual cam plugin and desktop audio. I tried to get the desktop audio from my laptop via NDI plugin to my streaming pc but eventhough I am able to get the desktop audio from laptop to streaming pc, I am not able to get this audio to Zoom just using the virtual cam plugin. So if anybody knows how to get NDI source audio to Zoom without virtual cable then let me know. Thanks.

The only thing is that everything was great except, I had no way to hear what my computer was doing. No sounds whatsoever! I can hear people on the other side and I can listen via another device/computer but obviously, that is delayed. No local sound, at all! If there is a way to have everything following this video gives and also get local sound I would be grateful if you could share it, otherwise this is pointless.

Is there a benefit using VBAudio Cables vs using OBS’s native desktop audio capture to bring in Zoom audio into OBS? I find using OBS’s native desktop audio capture easier, but if you can explain what the benefit is from one vs the other, I’ll consider using your method.
@jedlicka12274 жыл бұрын
im assuming that if you just use desktop capture you would get a feedback loop from the zoom audio. but if you do it this way, you can choose to only monitor your mic (not zoom audio) and send that through the cable. the problem is that you wont be able to hear your zoom audio with this setup
