Upgraded gears are important on the XMaxx but mod 1.5 isn't necessary. High quality mod 1 gears are good for most applications

Agree, traxxas brand spur must be upgraded esp when upgrading motor and esc. When u look at the prices at the aftermarket m1 gears...they are expensive and alot of those after market m1 gears start having issues down the line.. mod 1.5 gears cost are similarly priced with the mod1 aftermarket gears and mod 1.5 gears are stronger and they don't have the issues of the mod 1 gears with aftermarket setups....not speaking from opinion these are my experiences . If you're upgrading to a powerful motor the mod 1.5 gears should be considered and really are the better option .

Nice video. I’m running 39/39 with the. PPS motor slide and stock mount. Will this work for 25/25 mod 1.5?

Just like with 39/39 watch your temps and also I don't reccomend 1:1 gearing with a high kv motor. 800kv or lower is what I'd say 1:1 is ok.

You can get away with the 1:1 gearing on the 1100 as long as you run two 40mm game changer fans. Personally that’s what I run with a xlx2 and 25/25 mod 1.5 and good basher and hit 72mph all day long and couple 75mph on fully charged cnhl 9500mah 90c packs

Question I have a K8 with a Castle Creations 2028 800kv. I'm installing WFO MOD 1.5 25th PINION with 20th spur. Should I have any issues? Oh I have Castle MMX esc.

Yes that mmx8s can't handle that gearing. U should buy the xlx2 and consider 1:1 gearing.

@@ArticSun I wouldn't reccomend that. The mmx8s cannot handle 1:1 gearing. Spend the money and buy xlx2 or don't be surprised if the mmx8s blows up with that gearing. Good luck with whatever your final decision is.
