Steve, I know you do the NHL worst plays of the week, but I think you need to give an honorable mention to the college hockey's CCHA championship game between Minnesota State and Bemidji State. The game went into overtime tied at 1. About 4 minutes in, Minnesota State "scored", and being a championship game, pandemonium ensued. The trophy was presented, and everyone thought the game was over. The only problem with that happy ending was the review that lasted roughly an hour. Then it was determined that the net was off prior to the "goal". The game had to be restarted. Minnesota State eventually did win, but talk about a DANGIT.

I was at the Kings-Predators game. I think Markstrom had the right idea.. in that 3 on 3 situation, the goalie can create many opportunities. If he had been able to throw the puck up as he intended, it could have been a hat pick. Risk reward situation.. but yeah, it's pretty bad when it doesn't work...

About the Fleury Dang-it: A goalie losing any piece of equipment other than the helmet doesn't result in the play being blown dead. Goalies have had to play without gloves, blockers, sticks, and skate blades, but only helmets will lead to a stoppage of play. Chicago chose not to challenge it, because technically this wasn't goaltender interference. Fleury was able to play his position at the time the goal was scored, since it was about 10 seconds between when he lost his glove and when the goal was scored. All that said, it was normal interference, and the play should've been blown dead with Wheeler going to the box for a 2-minute penalty, but the refs just didn't call it. That's a dang-it

That Sabres Calgary game was the Sabres first shutout since 10/25/19, it had been 174 games without one. Also apparently the only 1-0 OT win by the Sabres in regular season franchise history, & 2nd overall, the other was the 4 OT game where Hasek made like 70 saves in the playoffs

I did not know about the latter two stats, but I would not have guessed the first one. I knew my boys were bad but I didn't realize that their last shutout was that far back. All the more reason to have actual hope for this young core, I think. I'm not in a hurry to get there this time like I was with the Eichel build, and it helps that the Sabres are playing hockey that's actually watchable this time even if isn't great still.

I like how the two Hurricanes dang its really summed up their 4 loss streak Anderson laying on his back flailing and not being able to stop a puck and eventually losing 2-0 while massively outshooting the rangers and then Niederreiter showing how a top contender team has been massively outshooting other teams hasn't been putting points on the board I think there should be an offensive version of "if you're a goal tender, tend the goal" that's "if you are shooting, SHOOT AT THE NET!" cause, my goodness, the number of shots that have been either center mass of the netminder or wide and off target is just astounding

The Devils no luck stems from injuries across the team, including to the G tandem Blackwood and Bernier, as well as Hughes and Dougie, which then led to the shuffling of lines each week and generating little chemistry. At least now, you see consistency in the 1 and 2 lines, but not the goalies (and sloppy defense).

Niederreiter missing the empty net perfectly describes the last few weeks for Canes. Just look at how they outshoot their opponents yet lose every game because they can't put the puck in the net. Not even an empty one.

I was stunned when my Sabres beat Calgary. I've had Markstom all year in one of my fantasy leagues as well as Lindholm and Johnny Hockey and they've all combined to make my team gross levels of good, so I thoroughly expected the Flames to run circles around them. Tokarski and Anderson have been far better this year than we had any right to expect, but even so that was super human on Tokarski's part. That game winner, however, was something else. I honestly feel bad for Markstrom. He had the same body language that Nedeljkovic did when he slapped that own goal in on his own five hole: "Should I just hang it up and go hide in the mountains for a few years?"

I wasn't at the game, but I'm willing to give Markstrom a pass. Given the situation, I don't know any goalie that wouldn't try and play that. If Markstrom doesn't whiff on the pass, Gaudreau has a breakaway at the other end and it's a potential Hat Pick candidate for the Flames (or a Dang It for the Sabres). It was a tight game, where both goalies were in top form, that ended in a Dang It for one of them. At the end of it, it's one point. Flames are still sitting comfortably on top of the Pacific Division. No point in losing your mind over one game against a non-conference rival. That's my opinion, anyway.

What I'm talking about is in response to his "freak out", that I watched the game from home. it was a really good game and I feel no shame giving Markstrom a pass over losing it. I've seen games end and game losing goals happen way stupider than that. He made the right play that was executed poorly. @@aaronsebastian5156 I’m as big a flames fan as anyone. I was simply “arguing” that the “freak out” is part of the Channel and what it provides as entertainment. You made a critique that it was overblown. But that could be said for any of the clips presented any given week. For the record I think it’s kind of funny and a little bit humanizing to know the guys i cheer for every night are indeed human.

Honestly if I was Dadanov I would be ripping Vegas apart right now and honestly I would probably refuse to play. Don't think u can do that but man talk about a slap to his face esp since there's a report going around that DADANOV TOLD VEGAS HE DIDN'T WANT TO GO TO ANAHEIM AND VEGAS SAID SHUT UP U'R GOING!

I’m a rangers fan, during this clip with the early whistle I just screamed “NO NO NO NO NO. WHY. WHY.” Instantly after hearing the whistle live.

Steve, you need to look at the Hockey East Semi-finals between UMass Lowell and Umass Amherst. With about 5 minutes left, Mass Amherst had a 2-1 lead and Mass Lowell had great momentum going, and Mass Lowell scored on their own net making the game 3-1 and never getting that tying goal
