That throw from Sidney Crosby really changed my perception of him from victim to dirty player. As a Caps fan, I always try to cut some slack because the Pens are huge rivals. But that play is unacceptable. No one's talking about the fact that it's his first game back from protocols, the Pens were on their way to getting blown out and he has to take a hurried shot cause some kid defenseman is about to take away any shot he has. Martin Fehervary has been so good on defense he's making John Carlson look bad and all he's doing is preventing Sid from any rebound. Crosby then sucker throws him head first into the boards. The Dang-It is that Crosby wasn't even fined for that dangerous non-hockey move. At least Artemi Panaran was a willing combatant when Wilson threw him down.

@nathanbrisebois87562 жыл бұрын
Just to preface, I am NOT defending or siding with the refs here, but they don't have the birds eye broadcast/press box angle that the fans do, and the game moves quickly, alot of penalties happen just behind the play as it shifts so the refs are looking to follow the play. I wholeheartedly agree with your statement about enforcing and calling all penalties regardless of who or how, but it's a big ask
@SquallLionhart4092 жыл бұрын
@@nathanbrisebois8756 I understand that its a difficult job, which is why I'm always looking for a way to use technology to make it easier. I'm hesitant to make anything subject to review, as any lengthy break can shift momentum. It also hurts the spectating aspect, which is vital considering the NHL is a business. Why not have an official that's able to watch from the pressbox or the video feeds, able to call down if something egregious is missed? The other aspect, the one I was talking about originally, are those penalties not called because that's the game now. When a player is cross-checked 8 times 2 feet from the goalie, you KNOW someone saw it. Similarly, when a player breathes on someone during an oddman rush, you know that arm will be raised.
