I love that she said she doesn't want to be another Sassy black character. That stereotype is tiresome. Could you imagine walking into a store hearing people speak in their normal vernacular and as soon as they see you, its head rolls, speaking loudly with broken language, annoyingly reciting a rap song or mentions of twerking?...yep.

Yeah.....but not every black person (specifically American) talk like her 😕 Many do, and many don't "heavily" use ebonics. I understand her point, but while she was talking, I as a black man (dark as Bernie Mac) had to really "read" some of her word choices. She called the Central Park 5 "babies" and never clarified her word usage. She's clearly over 50 years old so, I had to view her word choices from her perspective. She just left that brain work to those listening to her. I think that's one of the most graven mistakes we can make when communicating... Your "norm" may in fact not be another person's norm.... Therefore, you should/could attempt to clarify your thoughts/word usage for others.
@wanZ...
@wanZ... 5 жыл бұрын
@@Delroy61 alright I'm not understanding...she speaks quite well. Not heavily punctuated with "ebonics". Was not hard at all understanding her either. The "babies", not at all hard to understand as to who she was referring to. She is a mother. She portrayed a mother. She was feeling what the gentleman endured at such a young age. So, I get it.

JHarrel Jerome who played the character of Kory Wise did the dam thang. I don't care what no one says. He closed the curtains sort of speak. The last time I seen a performance so compelling was when Miss Jane Pittman walked to drink from the white water fountain. And that music was playing. Now, Mrs. Cicely Tyson is a heck of of an actress too. That's how Kory role hit me straight to the heart because it was real.🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🏅🏅🏅🏅🏅🎺

It looked to me like she was taking the information in. Michelle Williams has been on her own since she was 15 years old and spent her entire life being an advocate for people of all colors and especially for women. She's never been in the tabloids for doing anything or saying across word to anyone. And because someone don't understand expressions on her face someone called her a miserable wench. Wow. Women can be so hateful against each other. And for a black woman to do that it's more important because we are always treated or soon-to-be something because of how loud we are, I'll buy basis we are, how our bodies move when we walk, what are hair looks like. But this woman is sitting here in a Roundtable discussion which is heavily edited so we're not even seen the entire interview and has a stoic look on her face and now she's a miserable win.
