I think this joke would have played out better if they cut to him and you get the visual. Then Dan says, "be grateful it was your mouth" and then he blows out through the harmonica.

I wonder if that was a prosthetic or if make up and visual actually found a harmonica. Imagine the casting call : "We need a caucasian male who can stuff an entire harmonica in his mouth". Yea. Good luck with that one, Central Casting.

The Danish comedian Amin Jensen did an act where he played a harrmonica in various funny ways. He ended with a "solo without hands" where he stuffed the entire normal sized harmonica into his mouth. So for some people it is possible.

It seems like Night Court just found talented comedians and workshopped bits with them. The court cases, which were often the best parts, were generally pretty detached from the rest of the episode. I wouldn't be surprised if someone called up the guy, said, "I hear you're funny - want to come on Night Court?" and then found out that he could do this and wrote a case around it.

Night Court was that one show that hired people who strange abilities and talents. I wouldn't be surprised if they did hire a man who could craman entire harmonica into his mouth sideways.
