Clive Barker may have had an infant filmmaking career in Hollywood, but even then, it was more influential than many directors with dozens of films. No doubt his literary career was equally impactful, and some may compare him with the king of horror fiction-Stephen King himself. But we are not here to make comparisons and start a war between worshipers of Pinhead and followers of Pennywise (Reference from the film IT). We only intend to celebrate and appreciate the battle between the Tribes of the Moon and Sons of the Free, in other words, monsters and demons vs. humans. The 1990 film revolves around a man named Boone who transforms into an undead beast or a Nightbreed. After his transformation, Boone starts living in an underground town called Midian, the residents of which are monsters from your craziest nightmares. They live peacefully, well figuratively at least, but their existence and home are under constant threat of being revealed to the world. However, the sinister intentions of Boone’s psychiatrist, who practices serial killing when not doing his day job, and Boone’s love for his girlfriend, the worst becomes a reality, and Boone will have to rise to save the day, or… may be the night!

I've always been a huge Clive Barker fan. I wish they would have followed through with the movie version of Weaveworld. I saw Night Breed in the theatre and it is why I started reading Barker.... I just looked it up and actually leave world might be coming as a TV series soon. According to the internet, the CW is working on it now.
@jamiebraswell5520

Don't hold your breath. They have talked about Weavworld ever since it was first released. To this day, they announce Barker projects, but they never happen. Even the Nightbreed TV show has nothing going on. Names like Michael Dougherty come and go, but nothing ever happens. If you search for any real news, it never goes any deeper than mentioning his name. There isn't even a script written. All any of these TV and movie people really care about is regurgitating Hellraiser over and over again.

As a child of the late 80s early 90s I grew up both watching and being utterly terrified of horror movie villains like Chucky, Freddy Kruger (his theme song with the counting "one, two Freddy's comin' for you" straight up HAUNTED my adolescence 😆) and the like. However, I'd somehow seen this movie around that time (I was 6 or 7 maybe) and it was my first experience in which the scary monsters were the heroes. It completely changed my outlook on things and horror being subjective instead of objectively terrifying to me personally if that makes sense. It was actually really therapeutic to watch it over and over especially when I knew it was bedtime soon and all the tropes of checking under the bed and in the closet were less dyer. I'd never knew the name of it until about 3 years ago and the nostalgia flooded back seeing the cover photo that was on the VHS. Thanks for this breakdown and I love your content. 👍

Paused at the start. Just wanna say thanks for the video. Nightbreed was a part of my life growing up. Being mentally unwell and self hating. Mideon is where the monsters are and where I wanted to be. It helped me massively growing up and will always have a very special place in my heart. Also fell for Shuna Sassi big time. I'm glad we didnt ever get the sequel cos it will never have the iconic cult status it has now. It's a special movie. Just a quick one. Would you be up for doing a live video stream chatting about the movie one night ? Let me know on here or my channel. Be a great chat to geek out too.

The series, like anything Barker related that is not Hellraiser, has been in development hell for years. It getting mentioned in this video means nothing, as it is all old news. No work has proceeded, which is always the case. Michael Dougherty will eventually leave the project because, like always, no one will pick the series up. It gets mentioned in a news blurb every once in a while in an effort to try and woo a studio or network. It never works. It has been going for 7 years now. Do yourself a favor and don't expect to be getting a series, or you will just end up being disappointed.

Yep. Nothing ever happens. If it isn't Hellraiser, then the studio or network doesn't care. All these announcements do is regurgitate the same old junk, repackaged as if it were new developments. They are just trying to put it out there in the hopes that someone will pick it up. It never works and I have learned not to bother getting excited. Only when cameras roll will I believe it.

You will never see a Nightbreed TV series. They announce it every once in a while, but the idea never gets picked up. All any of these studios and networks care about is regurgitating Hellraiser. Michael Dougherty has been attached for over a year, but a more recent article actually revealed that no work has really happened on Nightbreed. These news bits get put out there in the hopes that someone will pick up the series. 7 years of this nonsense and nothing.

Marvelous Videos, to whom it may concern, Instead of pumping out video after video in a bid to post 1 a week or 1 a month, take the time to watch the movie and don't just give us the 'Cliff Notes' version of the story. There are quite a few omissions in the explanation of this particular video and a few down right errors made. You glossed right over the parts where Boon is affected by the smell of blood and how he begins to change against he control. He's accused of the murders in the hotel because the police find him in the same room as Decker's victims with blood on his hands and mouth. When Father Ashberry is reading a blessing for the posse from the bible, it doesn't mention Midian by name. That is part of the blessing. A blank line is left in the blessing to have a name substituted in there. If they were attempting to bless the posse in a holy battle against Decker, the blessing would have been ...'prepare yourselves for war and go and take vengance for the lord, on [Decker]...." That is why he pauses when he speaks the blessing. It had to be added at the end. There are all sorts of blessings and exorcism rites in the bible that work this way.

So...I am beginning to think that you mispronounce things on purpose. I mean, clearly you watched at least some of the movie for no other reason than to put video clips together. A clip right at the start clearly says the name "Cabal", which is also the title of the book. Yet for some very weird reason, you call the book "Cabell". In your previous video,, you kept on calling Baphomet "Baphomite", lol!! Go on and admit it...you mispronounced things on purpose, right? Also, you said you were going to discuss the Director's Cut, but then mentioned the after credits scene. That is only in The Cabal Cut (or Cabell Cut for you). The Director's Cut does not feature an after credits scene.

In their mind, they did nothing wrong, meanwhile the evidence still bears repeating that we're doing all the work, Millenials, cause Previous gens are the baddies which IS ESTABLISHED, and Z are worthless humans, completely just hanging around and not likely to do anything to better the world.😊
