OMG can we just take this time to appreciate @aurora spiderwoman for all this extremely rare yet beautiful content that we wouldnt get anywhere else on youtube for free. Honestly like ive been searching for a filmed version of Eartha Kitt's Folies Bergre number forever as well other content from shows that i didnt even know were filmed and its legit all here. Truly you are the KZbin Saint for all musical theatre lovers out there. Really apreciate the content and hard work!

I heartily concur. Aurora spider woman may know, but I think all Broadway productions are filmed at some point in their run. I’m not sure when they began doing this, but there was often a camera set-up, for example, at A Chorus Line in the rear orchestra in the 1970s and 80s (I went often.) Recordings exist out there!

How lovely to see Marni Nixon as herself and not dubbing Debora Kerr (The King & I) Natalie Wood (West Side Story) or Audrey Hepburn (My Fair Lady) amongst many others. She was known as the Ghostest with the Mostest as she truly was the voice ghost for so many Hollywood ladies who couldn't sing. Thank you Spiderwoman for this great montage. I saw the original show with Raul Julia back in the early 80's and loved it. I wish I had seen this production.

Thank you for this. A negative….those costumes are in no way an improvement from the brilliant black/white ones in the original production. Is there some explanation? An updating of some sort?

I saw the original musical twice in 1982 and 83, once with Raul Julia (perfection) and then with Sergio Franchi (great voice but not really an actor). First musical I had seen where every single musical number stopped the show. It happened again in 1985 with the Follies Concert.
