I love how Bill Zito just did what Steve has been struggling to do for nearly 3 months since the Leafs have been eliminated from the Playoffs, in striking a good analogy to make the people terrified of losing a Marner trade understand that you can lose the trade on paper and still drastically improve the team composition, and Steve couldn't help himself but to make himself the star in the moment and prioritize his Lazer Eyes Bit, over getting the point across that has been eating him alive for months. Oh Steven, we love you buddy.

Quinton Byfield at age 21 (will be 22 heading into next season) since people don't want to do there research. - One of the fastest players in the entire NHL at 6'5 (look at NHL Edge's stats) - Is 6'5 220lbs (in itself that is worth something) - Was a second overall pick but it was during the weirdest draft of our generation and he fractured his ankle in the 2021 pre-season - Just had the first healthy season of his career (fractured ankle in 2021, COVID in 2022 & lost over 20lbs) - Scored the best goal of the 2023-24 NHL regular season (Kings VS Blue Jackets Feb 20th 2024) - Had 20 goals, 55 points, and was a beast in the playoffs for the second straight post-season He's doing all of this while having a very unlucky start to his career, being younger than everyone in his draft, and being MASSIVE. That contract is def worth it right now and will become unbelievably good value as soon as this season.

1:02:51 So something I'll always remember is in 2014 when the Sochi olympics were on there was a situation where Canada made the gold medal game which was going to be on at 8 am Sunday morning. The problem was back in the 1800s Bars werent allowed to be open on Sunday before 11 am or something like that and its a law that just never went away. So when this happened the Toronto council had to have an emergency Saturday meeting to repeal that law so that the bars could be open for the gold medal game.

As a nucks fan whenever I see the leafs cap structure or management decisions, then look at my nucks it blow's my mind how insane JR and Allvin are. When they took over we were one of the teams in cap hell despite sucking. As of now with a 24 man roster which includes poolman at 2.5 , we have 200k in cap space. The fact we could play out the season without using LTIR and carry 24 players is absolutely insane. Then when you look at who's locked up long-term and just as importantly not signed long-term it's even more impressive. JT who's a stud is the only player over 30 with more than 3 years and not one contract that you would say will hold the team back. What's impressed me this summer is after finally breaking out, Allvin not only managed to keep all of our own UFA's that were part of the core that was the best team in hockey in January, he somehow made the team younger and didn't commit term to any player over 30 and somehow the team on paper is better than the roster we had in October. Many will say well losing Zadorov and Lindholm was a miss but they were both given way too much term and really didn't do much in the regular season. Who would of ever thought that Vancouver would be one of the best run teams in the league after the Benning years😂
