What a great video thank you. We have some little tips to show off the dehydrate setting. Firstly. We made some old fashioned orange slices to go in with the little Christmas treats bags we made up for the family. Secondly by far the best tip if you have dogs. Is to make them high protein healthy treats. Saving you a fortune and giving your dog a very healthy treat. We buy cheap reduced liver or heart. Slice it thinly. Lay it over the racking. 8 hrs later you have something very special that all dogs go crazy for. We got the idea from a local dog walker / trainer. Who told us that it’s the highest value reward she can use to train a dog. She spent a lot of money on a dehydrator. Ninja 15-1 has this feature included. Once you have dehydrated the liver or heart. Put it in old Chinese take away container and store in the fridge for up to a month. Keep up the great work Barry

Love your videos. Learning so much as overwhelming when you first receive the Ninja 15 in 1 and never used an air fryer before so thank you for all your informative videos. I did follow the manual for a chicken on Xmas day and it was perfect. I experimented a couple of times beforehand but used the pressure cooker first and then the air fryer and for an extra large chicken it was cooked in under an hour and very juicy inside and crispy on the outside - perfect! I used the preset mode and quick release for the steam. My first attempt was with a small chicken and if I'd known to slide to the air fry mode once the quick release had finished it would have been fully cooked within 40 mins which is great. Still loads to learn with this cooker but great so far. I followed your method for roast potatoes and they were great thanks.

You'd already sold me on the pressure cooker and steam roast. I think some foods i resort to the oven when i should be using the 15 in 1 but you give me more confidence in expanding my repetoire. I'm going to try steaming dumplings next and maybe rice and bread.

I see that for steam cooking everyone says have the vent should be open, however, the ninja recipe book says it can be open or shut, bit confusing as if it’s open the steam comes out but if shut, whilst not pressure cooking the steam stays in, which is best?🤷🏻‍♀️. I kept the vent closed when doing a chicken on steam roast and it was beautiful, I did 30 minutes breast down and 30 minutes breast up. I have also done this in my ninja dual drawer air fryer on roast and both are excellent, but I digress, vent open or closed 🤷🏻‍♀️, I guess I have to get two chickens and try both as I can always make lots of chicken noodle soup with loads of vegetables 😋😋😋 with all the leftovers, such a good way of using up leftovers and really healthy and can be frozen. Love your channel though. ❤❤
@susannahskitchen
@susannahskitchen 7 ай бұрын
Hi, I didn’t realise to start with but recently realised… The vent only needs to be sealed for Pressure Cooking only Any steam recipes can be cooked with it in any position - it makes zero difference. I agree it’s confusing but this is my knowledge. You can open the lid at any point during a steam recipe but not during a pressure cook recipe. I’d recommend not to open the lid whilst steam is building as it will loose heat rapidly but for example when steam air frying once steam is built and its air frying I open to check as and when needed

Hi, I have found a stew to be hard once after slow Cooking. Also my gammon took longer on slow cooker than I thought. Seems like it’s not as effective as we’d like. I now pressure cook stew, pie fillings, brisket, pasta dishes etc. I love the pressure cook option, same result as slow cooking but better and faster!

Hi, not if the thing you are cooking stays the same size. For example if you use 250g of rice or 500g the grain of rice stays the same size so the length of cooking is the same. However if you are doubling up the size of a joint of meat then you would need longer cooking. I hope that helps

Hi Again, another very clear precise video with no extra waffle....thank you......BUT as usual I have a question (or comment). You say when pressure cooking protein and using the probe to always use quick release. I have been using an instant pot for years and the advice is to NEVER use quick release with protein the sudden change in pressure causes the fibres to contract and causes tough protein. Always at least a 10 min NPR. Advice on that appreciated ......cheers KH, KS, KC.
@susannahskitchen
@susannahskitchen 7 ай бұрын
I agree it’s contradictory. If meat is submerged in liquid it’s fine to QR. I understand that you don’t want to toughen the meat but if you’ve used the probe to cook it to temperature my thoughts are you need to stop the cooking process. Generally it is better for a NR with meat. I’ll look into this more…..

I’m still confused about the pressure cooker vent or seal choice. When doesn’t it have to be on Vent? And when using pressure cooker mode does it require adjusting from seal to vent? Thank you in advance
@susannahskitchen
@susannahskitchen 6 ай бұрын
When you are going to pressure cook something seal the vent. It will automatically release the pressure and move when the release you’ve chosen (delayed, quick, natural) has finished. If the pressure is taking longer than you want you can move it to vent and the rest will then release faster. Sometimes at the end of pressure cooking it will say open lid and it won’t that’s because there is a tiny amount of pressure/steam inside. You can either wait a minute of so or move the vent and it will release the lid
