The original clear GBA was the first Nintendo game system I ever had. Got it at Toys R Us in 2003 and it's still one of my favorites.

I have very fond memories with my Game Boy as well. I had the normal one with the pack in Tetris. My sister and I got ours for the Christmas of 1992. We each received one game extra, she got Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins and I got Kirby's Dreamland. She's older than me, and as she grew up, she grew out of her Game Boy and games, and I obtained the games she had, Mario Land 2 and Tiny Toons. I had a LOT of games beyond Dreamland. I had Kirby's Pinball Land, Block Ball, Dreamland 2, Super Mario Land 1 and 3, Pokemon Blue, Donkey Kong '94, Mighty Morphin Power Rangers The Movie and lastly, Battleship. I swear the computer player in this game cheated! lol. One turn it was randomly shooting like normal and the next one all of a sudden he uses one of the multi-shot weapons and he instantly knows where two of my ships were. I had a Game Boy Color, the grape purple one. But I only ever had three actual Color branded games, Duke Nukem, Super Mario Bros Deluxe and Star Wars Episode 1 Racer. For the Advance, Babbages only had a pink one left in stock and I decided that it was better than not having one at all, not to mention that the shade of pink was the same as Kirby, my favorite Nintendo character, so that was the mind set I used to accept it. I had all four of the Super Mario Advance games, both Kirby games, Pokemon Sapphire and Leaf Green and several of the Yugioh games. I was able to get my Flame SP at EB Games, a competitor to Gamestop in the early 2000s. I was in one day just looking around, not really intending to buy anything and they had this line of GBA SP boxes with this sticker on them that said trading an original model GBA with two Advance games and the trade value would pay for half of the cost of the SP. Well the promotion was actually already over, but since I was a customer who saw the stickers, they still had to honor it, so I went back home and got my Kirby GBA and two games I no longer wanted and walked out with the new system.

I remember I got the gba sp 2 for Christmas in 2006/07. Not sur for year. Traded it for used nes edition sp. I was obsessed with the nes one.

Too bad the GBA micro was released too closely to the release of the DS. I really liked the screen quality and small form factor. Also one of my main collection pieces which im proud to own is the 20th anniversary Famicom edition GBA micro.

The other ones for the micro are deluxe packs. The games are final fantasy 4, and the Japan only mother 3.

the Gameboy Advance SP was my first Gameboy which I bought from Kmart for $100 (which was all but $20 of my Christmas money). But I spent the other$20 on Super Mario Brother 3 and had to re pay my mother the rest of the cost for the game. the next year for Christmas my mom got me Harvest Moon which I played non stop, ever chance possible for weeks on end. Even to this day with all of my other systems and handhelds ( 11 others) I think I have the most time played on my GBA SP in Harvest Moon.

My first console ever was the gba sp, i got it on my 5th birthday (little did i know, it was on launch month!) and i got my first game with it, Mario Kart Super Circuit! Still have everything and it works flawlessly ;)

I had this exact glacier gba back in the day and I still have it, but the speaker no longer works and it's scratched to all hell. I had to beg my parents to get me one back in the day.

I enjoyed that thankyou...... Concerning the headphones on the sp..... I've got headphones that just plug straight into the Nintendo port..... I think they're a third party product at the time..... and no need for the adapter.....they also have a volume switch built in to the wires.

Whooaah Wow, i remember 15 years ago when i bought the gba,i was like whooaah a 32bit proccesor,a wide color screen,16bit graphics and clear digital sound ,how could this all be stiffed inside a cheap plastic looking handheld,it literly feeled like a portible snes once i saw mario advance on it,but later on i saw doom on it and i was like whooaaah,how could a cheap ass looking handheld handle doom,concidering many consoles from the 90's struggled running doom. Then in late 2002,i saw V rally 3 on it and i was like whoooaah real textured full color polygonal 3D on a gba, how could psx ports be potentialy be possible on it. It become so futuristic with many ideas in mind like an internet adaptor for multi player but it turned out to be combursome and it was only released in japan. But this little handheld along it's mind blowing launch titles caused lot's of huge cloud dusts around the globe.

That's too bad I prefer the shape of the game boy advance model to the sp if the original advance had the lighted screen and rechargeable battery that would be the one I would get but know I have to get the sp just because batteries are too expensive
