Nirvana is just too pure. Whether with Chad or dave on drums. Kurt's vision and passion for music and live performances just topples any band I've seen. They didnt want to look cool. They didnt want to be macho rock stars. They didnt want to play perfect music and have this perfect image. Kurt knew exactly what he was doing and was just a force of raw nature. Very few bands can match the rawness and purity of Nirvana.

Thank God for AI in this situation. It’s about the only thing it’s good for, but we would never see these shows in any kind of clarity if not for the AI enhancement. That’s why it wasn’t on the Internet 10 years ago. But yeah, thank God for VHS or it would have no source material. The interesting thing is that the AI weights for those split seconds were the people being filmed, were still enough to be clear, then fills in all of the dots where it’s blurry because it knows what the stuff looks like from the clear parts,. So, we’re not seeing this stuff as it necessarily really happened, it’s all artificial predictions of what was happening in the fuzzy parts based on the clear images. This would be pretty much unwatchable for all but the hardest fans and historians without the AI enhancement.

I have never commented on a you tube video as I have seen the trolls come out whom seem to feast on other people's joy or the green eyed monsters that spit their poison with equal equanimity in righteous indignation at others that have commented. So be kind in my simple indulgence, I am just reminiscing. I had the incredible fortune to not only be at this performance, but spent a short period of time with Kurt chatting before the show. Tad played the opening act and was interesting but so were most of the Sub Pop acts. Truthfully, I thought he paled in comparison to Nirvana. The whole set Nirvana played was excellent but the best song of the evening in my opinion was Negative Creep; It was deafening and amazing at the same time seeming to shake the very foundation of the building. The Blind Pig in Ann Arbor did not hold very many people back then so there wasn't many of us there and it was crowded even for the Blind Pig. Most of the cool kids in the audience knew each other, shopped at the same thrift shops (Value Village and St Vincent DePaul among others), went to a ton of shows and hung out at Drake's (where I went) or the Fleetwood. I am the blond haired boy with the short haircut right near Kurt. I was living in Depot Town; it feels like a lifetime ago.

Nirvana was a devestating live act, but at this point, they had the very bad habit of dicking around inteminably between songs. ANyway, the version of Negative Creeep here rivals Motorhead for intensity. It`s as if both Lemmy and Kurt had distortion pedals in their throats.
