In an alternate reality there's a band called Nirvana whose singer and composer is Krist Novoselic and he composed the hit "More than a feeling". They sometimes played a skit of Boston's hit "Smells like teen spirit" for fun.

1:10 I’m a lifelong amateur drummer. Dave shows he is the god of rock drums. His groove in the first verse got me. His snare placement and feel in this simplicity is the hardest thing you can pull off as a pro drummer. Usually people think it’s the fast things that are hard. But to maintain energy and pulse in simple moves its the true mastery. What he does here is pure raw drum mastery. So naked and revealing on such a big stage. All this while navigating through curts spontaneous madness. And. When drummers sound this good. The bass is doing it right. Had me in tears. Thank you for the music. All of you.

I understood VERY well how lucky I was to be there. Sleeping in a flooded tent. Stood in the middle of the field on an upturned oil drum with my best mates and a yellow waterproof shielding us from the rain. We knew then we were a part of history and have dined out on the experience every since 👌🏻

@ivoryjoker007 11 ай бұрын
@LizNewtonZHUCHI yup I've been dining out on this too and I remember the floods well! We were at Reading in 1990 too which was a scorcher, but we saw only a fraction of the bands as we spent the majority of the time stoned on the banks of the Thames, while we kept bottles of white Thunderbird cool in the river. Class 😂

Every time I watch this live version of Smells Like Teen Spirit, it feels like stepping into a moment that changed music forever. The raw energy, Kurt's haunting voice, and the band’s intensity-it’s like grunge captured in its purest form. Nirvana didn’t just perform, they unleashed a whole new sound and attitude that inspired generations. It's amazing how, decades later, this song still resonates with anyone who’s ever felt misunderstood or out of place. Long live Nirvana!

Ever since Kurt said he didn't like Smells Like Teen Spirit, every Nirvana fan feels the need to agree with him and say it sucks because they have taken idol worship beyond the point where they can have their own opinions. Stop telling people that they're not a true fan if this is their favorite, music taste is subjective. It's not my favorite Nirvana song, but I'd put it as one of their best. A proper anthem that everyone should stop putting so much pressure on themselves to not like. End of.

I was there in '92, about 15 people back from the front, all day. When the band walked on stage, the 50-60,000 people there pushed closer to the stage and all of us up front were crushed. I was afraid if I breathed out, I wasn't going to get another breath. People were passing out and we'd do the best we could to lift them up and surf them forward. Despite feeling like I'd die from asphyxiation, I'm still happy I was there for the 3rd day of that 3 day grunge festival to see them live, along with all the other great bands. Being that close, we could see Kurt, Dave and Krist jamming side stage to all the other bands playing. A really unforgettable experience

I think they did that because there was talk about the song being ripped off from the boston song. But ultimately a lot of songs are comparable in chord progression. Sheeran won that argument as well recently.

Gary Martin dude,that's right. Also,back then,there wasn't any phone/camera to record as a crowd. And in '00 were bad mps for those commercial cameras. That's why a lot of concerts are in bad resolution/quality when we talk 'bout '00.
