@CarrosCenasPT9 жыл бұрын
MrYnoter The GT-R does not come in manual, u only have automatic and/or semi-auto (paddle shifters). If you wanna get a gt-r for sure get one with paddle shifters and be ready to drop more $$ into tunning it.
@Rotasu_9 жыл бұрын
MrYnoter the car comes with an optional shifting paddles that he was talking about being attached at the steering column. Research about them to learn more of it. Considering most new cars are coming out with shifting paddles now and not stick shifts.

The Nissan GT-R is a monster car. It is not for the faint of heart nor is it a car for the novice. All of the electronics can make the driver feel like superman. The people that can afford the GT-R are very fortunate indeed. Good review Ross.

more like 70k from the first models of this new generation but yea the price has increased considerably. you do get a slightly more refined ride with the newest ones and some extra hp but personally I think it's only worth 10 to 15 thousand dollars more, anymore then that is just Nissan raining in extra profits.

I dropped 100K on it to purchase it. Then i upgraded the exhuast - mid-pipe. Stock is quite as an accord. Then I added Carbon fibre wrap in some spots. I feel totally safe in it. Winter tires [blizzacks] are awesome with it. I stopped counting how much i put in to be honest. Its just fun to spend to make it nicer. I love the car. It makes your driving dreams come true. Only bad part is that you can't see how good you look in it. Honestly, this car is SICK!

First, two words: naked envy. The GT-R is at the top of my fantasy car list, and you were PAID to drive it. Second, you drove it on your anniversary, your wife has to be one of the coolest women on earth...well done, you lucky SOB. Don't ever let go of her. Third, $100+ is not cheap, but you're right, it is an attainable fantasy. Unlike the McClaren or any Ferrari. Thanks for sharing the sheer fun with us video game warriors.

I agree with most here, the car is obviously a car for performance and not daily use. However I have a 911 Turbo and it can be used as a daily drive. Turn off the PASM (sports suspension) and it drives like any other 911 Carrera. If you wanted a daily driver in Nissan form, then you would choose the non Black edition I suppose.

@Aresbro12 жыл бұрын
@Ross Rapoport definitely. Of course the wild driving is going to be exciting for you and your viewers alike, but it was your journalism that made the video great. It's the way you were able paint the picture of the car in a very emotional level, and in a way that numbers & statistics (though critically important,) cannot achieve. This is what shined on through your well done video.

I'm an old guy at 56. I got the GTR 2009 model when it first came out. Not as fast as the 2013 but still pretty quick. Admittedly, it's not my daily driver but it certainly could be, so on that account I disagree with your assessment. Every time I get in this car, it delights me in every respect. Even being a four year old car, I really can't think of a newer production car that I'd trade it in for. Maybe a ZL1 or Porsche turbo S. But AMS or Cobb could give more speed for less money.

Tim, they did not have financing options when I got it. It really depends on the dealer. Give a few places calls and see if they have financing for GTR's. This car's Gear Train is just as impressive as its 0-60 in 2.7 seconds number. The handling, and transmission intelligence is astounding (to me anyway)

Brand new models like 2014 Black Edition one's go about $107k, while some older versions like some 2008/09 models go as low as $85k, which is crazy seeing that this car rolls with others like Lambo, Ferraris, and Porches which cost a lot lot more.

Nice review. As a R35 GTR owner, I agree - its a very exciting car to drive. On the track its heaps of fun and really tests your driving skills and nerve to the limit. Definitely not anything like playing a computer game. Yes the gearbox is clunky around town its a very stiff ride. But I love that about it. It reminds me of the mega potential that resides under my right foot. The gearbox and suspension on the track however, is unbelievable. If I want to be comfy, I take my BMW.

@TypeR101312 жыл бұрын
You sort of have a point here. The 911 is a much better daily driver and it gets much better gas mileage too. It also sounds better. However, I definitely had more than enough opportunities to enjoy the difference between the 911 Carrera S (which I also drove, and it was a lot more than $107k) and the GTR. It wasn't wasted by any means!
