Thank you so much! I am extremely novice when it comes to this stuff. I didn't check my hoses, which I will, but I just tapped on the pressure switch with my finger, and my furnace turned back on! Your knowledge is priceless!

I was getting code 2-3 as well. I work on pool and spa equipment, and most residential heater have a similar system. I was flummoxed because, even with my knowledge base, I couldn't figure out the problem. I had checked the vac switch and it tested fine... Or so I thought. What I didn't realize is that this switch has a dual switch configuration, where pool heaters only have a single switch. Thanks to this video and pointing out the dual switch set-up I was able to get my house heater up and running, which is great because it's cold outside, and was inside for a couple of days.

Thanks for the video. My Carrier furnace wouldn't start and I had fault code 23. Bought a replacement pressure switch from Supply House. The original switch part number was obsolete, but they had a replacement switch. The form factor on the replacement switch was slightly different. I made the appropriate connections and it worked. Thanks for the tips.

Thanks a bunch for this video. Woke up one morning to the cold and found that the furnace was not kicking on (even the fan would not turn on) but everything else did work. Made sure the thermostat and wires was not the problem first before seeing the board was displaying 23 (2 short 3 long blinks). Followed the video and checked the air hoses with no change then tapped the pressure switch (mine was a larger circular one.. look like it could hold a diaphragm) on start up and sure enough it spun up. Got to wait for parts but at least I know what's wrong now. Thanks for the vid

I have a Rheem with a flaky pressure switch. Get it to work by leaving the vacuum hose attached to it and blowing/sucking till it clicks, or tapping it like you did. Good video.

Should there be a plastic plug on the back port on the pressure switch? Looks like a needle.

You saved me, too. Would have helped if my code sheet wasn't upside down and I knew the 2-3 blink code meant 23 on that sheet.

Having issues with condensate yes it can cause that condition. One thing I find is other techs don’t clean the trap, gotta drain, worst case rotting the secondary. Always part of a yearly PM that most don’t do.

I’ve had the error code 23 happen a couple times this past week and have an HVAC tech out to do diagnostics but they havent been able to locate an issue and the error continues to periodically happen. When I turn off power to the furnace for 5 minutes it resets the code and the furnace eventually restarts. Does anyone have any idea what might be causing this intermittent malfunctioning?

Mine has the same code except mine won't even "purge" the first fan doesn't even come on. But it's flashing the same code

@@jaimecantu2611 I honestly don't know what I did, but it started working again. This was last winter and it's been working since.

You might want to drill that pressure port a little bit bigger , otherwise it will plug up with condensate again
@BillyN31 Жыл бұрын
Noooo don’t do that! They are designed to close and open on a certain amount of water column. You could jack it all up. The solution is to clean your condensate drain hoses and trap.
