This is the 'no music' version of Old Man Tcheng's direct and powerful teaching. The other version with music can be found under my Zen playlists here: kzbin.infoplaylists

I almost always prefer background music as it seems to allow the content to flow more easily but this nincompoop appreciates the silence here to receive the full breadth of my false seeing and seeking. Thank you Jayasara.

The first time this old geezer heard this was your ‘with aural soundscape’, so discretely chosen as to only grace the peace your voice establishes. But, I confess to a lot of laughter. Even still, and through many listenings, I am caught nearly off-guard by his gruff humour and his wonderful grumpiness. I take his lashings with delight, because I know them to be true, even though I know nothing. Oh. Bless you, Samaneri Jayasara. The planet cannot turn without this in the air, in the soil and fire and seas, and space itself! Will not. Bless your turning of this enormous and tender wheel.❣️

Absolutely magnificent, must be among the best videos/teachings I had the blessing to receive from this God-sponsored channel. Such a great find.. Is this something well known among Buddhist circles, how did you come across this gem and was what you posted the whole of the teaching or just a part? Oh, I got a million questions there is something timelessly relevant and strikingly sincere in this teaching, along with an amazing sense of humour.. nah I can't find the right words for this..

Hello my Melodious friend, very little more that what's in the description is known about this series of small teachings/vignettes than what is provided in the description above: "The Words of Old Tcheng first appeared in the French journal, Etre, in 1974. Where this text first originated and at what time are unknown. It was given by a Buddhist monk in the form of a written document to a Frenchman who was visiting Indochina. Indications of style suggest that it may belong to the school of Zen founded by Hui Neng, the 6th Zen patriarch." I've posted the entire teaching/s but that's all I know about it. Wonderful it is indeed!
