Nobody can help you | J. Krishnamurti
Extract from Public Discussion #1, Brockwood Park, UK, 1969
---
This channel is managed by the Krishnamurti Foundation Trust, UK, and by the Krishnamurti Foundation of America.
The role of the foundations was described by Krishnamurti when he said, 'The foundations will see to it that these teachings are kept whole, are not distorted, are not made corrupt. They will not give rise to any sectarian spirit in their activities... nor create any kind of place of worship around the teachings or the person.'
We maintain extensive archives of Krishnamurti's original works and all four Krishnamurti foundations are actively engaged in the publication of material in various forms.
Our videos contain thousands of subtitles in more than 25 languages, translated by volunteers from all over the world. If you would like to help us with translating subtitles, please contact us at digital@kfoundation.org

TRANSCRIPT: What have I learnt this morning? I have learnt - I am learning, rather - that deeply nobody can help me. That’s a tremendous realisation. The helper, whoever wants to help me, he is helping me according to his conditioning. He says, ‘I know better than you do, old boy, let me help you.’ Or, ‘I’ll help you, I’ll be your companion, to walk together. We’ll watch things together,’ which means I depend on him. I need someone to support me, in walking. And I have discovered, if I have to do something ultimately by myself, why don’t I begin right from the beginning, not wait? I can’t do it because I am frightened, I want support, I want security, I want somebody to tell me, ‘You’re doing very well, old boy, carry on.’ And I have seen that any form of resistance - any form, outwardly or inwardly - any form of resistance is a wastage of energy. I have an opinion about something or other - prime minister or the Labour Party, or I don’t know, whatever it is - I have an opinion - that there is or there is no God, that this is right, this is wrong - and I am unwilling to change it. That’s a resistance. And when you say something which is an opinion, your opinion, can I listen to it without resisting, and change because what you say is true? So I find… not to have opinions at all. So I see that where there is attention there is an abundance of energy. And that energy is attention, and that can look, observe without the observer. The observer is the conditioned entity, the reaction, the resistance. I’ve seen this very clearly, not intellectually but deeply - you know, feel it. Therefore I’m going to watch if there is any form of resistance creeping up, and I know what to do. Now I am free to listen. Free to listen and therefore free, all the time changing.

No one can heal the trauma that i have inside of myself. Only I can. By forgiving myself and grieving the love that was never given to me. That pain has to be felt. By feeling I heal.

you got it. absolutely. exactly. just this and only this. only feeling can help us accept, and acceptance makes the trauma lose its trigger/impact. then we see we are not as triggered by the same trauma as we were before we felt it. then we realize it is upto us to sow seeds of the life we want.

Keeping your attention on the present, implies division and concentration. When you're thinking, be aware of what you're thinking rather than escaping it as if it were different from that who wants to move away from it by concentrating on breath. That which you want to move away from is not different from you who wants to move away.

This is genuinely clearer and clearer. Truth is crucially clearer when I'm blue, but when I'm in an equilibrium kind of state it's beautifully clear, and I sense peace in the realisation of truth, in this case that nobody can help me, I'm blue, those are hard times we live in, and this is brutally clear for me.

In the video, the speaker has uttered the word " I" number of times. I am learning, i am seeing etc But where there is"I" there can be no learning Man is just a speck in the whole existence . He can't analyse this vastness that surrounds us. The role of sublime company (association) can never be rejected which k does everytime. Definitely good company inspires us to get rid of our shortcomings and limitations. The whole job of self transformation is done by man himself, but good company acts as a stimulator. It makes him reflect upon his real behaviour. It gives him a push to move forward After all what are your video meant for. They also compel man to look within You can't nullify the role of great company.

I think Krisnamurti was great, in another talk he gave, he spoke about observing without thought, now, i can manage that, but observing without feeling is another matter, especially for those of us who have trauma and i might be wrong but i'm not sure trauma was his specialist subject, or if he ever spoke of it. I become afraid in so many social situations that i can't enjoy a simple moment with people, my own gender or the opposite sex, my feelings are always fight or flight and great as these teachings are, such matters are up to psychiatrists or even in some cultures, shamans; and most psychiatrists don't really specialize in such things, so when you're young (28) and you have anxiety from trauma and depression, ocd and shyness and unemployed and no girlfriend and so and so on, life, really is difficult and even the best people, it seems, cannot even help. I'm not hopeless, in fact i'm not even a very heavy guy, paradoxically i have an upbeat outlook on life, i am not a very serious person and i always laugh, but at the same time i do have these very difficult feelings
@nanex_7726
@nanex_7726 4 жыл бұрын
Your problem is then not feeling it is in actual fact your state of mind. All those things you have mentioned are influencing your thoughts.. So then you cannot yet observe without thought because if you could, a great realization will happen within you that all the trauma is caused by your lack of self confidence, confidence in your own ability and yet that ability means nothing and so anyone else's ability also really means nothing, so what is there to be afraid of or worried about?
@JPMonstie

Peter O'Toole You just described what it’s like to live in fear (the hell of fear). The error is that you’re believing that feelings (the past) can occur without thought. All ‘feelings’ have an associated thought, which is what maintains the past, or suffering in you. Give up thought or the addiction to thinking, and the feelings/fear will begin to dissolve and your life circumstances will improve. How do I give up identifying with my feelings/thinking? Simply practice feeling (note the subtle but important difference between feelings and feeling) the sensations (especially the good feeling) in the body. Simple, but not easy. Part of humanity’s ignorance is that I doesn’t get that the brain/mind amplifies everything in it. What I acknowledge, I grow or get more of. Most people acknowledge negativity constantly or cyclicly. This is essential Universal Law. Acknowledge only the good, and that is what will grow in your life.

@RamblingRyan First find a job. And then start trying some form of therapy. You don't need a psychiatrist - you need a therapist. And you can help yourself by adding to the therapy some process (massage, tai-chi, even homeopathy) that would help you "open up" and let all that accumulated fear express itself wholly and exit your body. Listening to K.'s videos won't help you where you are. When your house is on fire you don't look at your thoughts: You take the water hose. Don't waist your time; it is precious.

Why is he holding these beautiful talks....? There is somewhat a contradictionairy thing about it for me....it seems he is doing it to entourage people to be attentive, conscious themselves and realise they ultamately 'need' no help...I consider this whole thing as him helping with his talks that people just observe the present moment/themselves....

Knowing that sun will rise tomorrow is it a conditioning or a fact. And to someone who never seen it.. it wouldn't be both. Thought and conditioning is helping to make sentences, cleverly. With layers in words. Once it was learning to speek, now its conditioning, as time goes on. If one is not aware of his work, knowledge on which work depends becomes conditioning.

From all his talks,I've realised this man has never experienced or seen suffering. That's why he can sit there for years and mumble incoherent nonesense without making any impact in the world.
