This is how I installed the NOCO Lithium Ion Battery in my Gold Wing. Had to make some "adjustments" so the connectors would fit correctly. So if you have a dead battery or dying batter take a look and see if it's for you. I believe this applies to 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022 goldwing models wether manual or automatic DCT or Tour models as well.

Nice video. I just bent the bike's battery connector outward a little bit and it worked just fine.

Bought battery went to install yep had to cut the plastic! Thanks for video! Night and day difference on how it starts game changer! as for warranty bullshit im not waiting 5 days for a battery to be exchanged. IF you get 2 years out of it the way it cranks your way ahead! i feel like it will easily last 5 years.

Running into a similar issue connecting a Noco battery to my NC700XD. Battery seems fine but terminal design is very poor. I might need to create a terminal adapter of some sort. I’m glad I’m not alone in this situation.

Going to order one too. Give Noco a shot. Great help with your video. My OEM is shit and I am only 2 years into it on a 2020 DCT Tour. I ca hear her struggling to start a bit. Mine is on a NOCO trickle smart charger 24/7 (AGM). I had enough with starting concerns. My charger is also applicable for Lithium batteries.

@@PrivateCitizen1214 correct, however the NOCO 20 has a smart electronics board under the terminals which controls the 14.5v the bike sends to recharge while on. It's almost like a controlled canal dam. These batteries don't need much and too long of a charge. You can use regular trickle but NOT ADVISED. It will damage the cells over time. The NOCO 1 charger is not expensive. Pays to have. I have the G1100. No longer available.

No issues. Have had a ride through New England last fall two days; no issues. Been out in weather in 40s without issue starting. When it does run down; keeping ignition on without engine running for hours while installing stuff or whatever it’s like a switch….. it never “tries to turn the engine over” it either does or doesn’t. And when it doesn’t you only have to charge a few minutes to give enough for “switch” to flip and your back in business.

So far I have had no problems with the battery at all. Only issues were what I mentioned during the installation. Hasn’t been a year yet but still have not had to put bike on charger and sadly bike has sat for at least 2-3 weeks at times. So short answer Yes I’d recommend it so long as you don’t mind the slight mod to connect it. Good price too!

Only Issue I’ve had was when installing as you’ve seen in the video. Always starts and if I ever continuously turn on the accessory mode enough to run it down so it won’t start, Only had to leave on charger 5 minutes for enough to turn over. I don’t think you’ll regret it.

Still no issues. It sat a month plus this winter also without a charger connected. I did notice one setting on my motorcycle alarm had changed and the Carplay option was somehow off on bike so not sure if at anytime while sitting voltage dropped enough for the battery to turn off then turn back on after temps rose (might happen if battery is low???)

You were supposed to get some D shaped spacers about 1/8” thick that will off set the terminals from the battery post to clear the plastic on the battery
@PrivateCitizen1214
@PrivateCitizen1214 2 жыл бұрын
I thought about using spacers but with the posts already being screwed into the battery and then adding another thing between the posts and the terminals I thought that too much. Would spacers allow the terminals to rotate and possibly loosen since there’s nothing to the tab of the post to touch? And I didn’t know they made D shaped spacers for batteries, thanks for the education I’ll look those up.

I read that for lithium battery packs you do need a special charger, but lithium batteries built for things that have recharging systems like vehicles, lawnmowers etc, have the charger/charge controller built in. The NOCO has the lithium packs inside at bottom and the electronic charge controller inside at the top. Void warranty, maybe 🤔

If you had an issue with a lead acid battery it's because moto batteries generally last about 2 1/2 years. Having the correct NOCO battery will facilitate easy install. I noticed that is a group 20. Did you choose that battery or did NOCO verify that is the correct group for that bike. Some motos will not support lithium batteries. Make sure you also have the correct trickle charger for that battery. My replacement for my bike is a group 30 700 cold cranking amps with 5 year warranty. Installed it last year and have no complaints. 🏍😁👍✌

So I did manage to drain it while testing out cubby fans in accessory mode. I noticed it either cracks hard or not at all, no in between. Good part is you only have to charge for 2 maybe 3 minutes and it’s ready to go. Bad part is, no real sign when it’s low, built in controller cuts current off when too low and just switches back on when charged enough.
