Hey everyone - thanks for watching! Please make sure to watch through towards the end - I play the captures through some effects, kind of a real world test - they REALLY come to life that way!

That’s really kind of you to say - thank you! Stay tuned - I’m gonna be releasing some capture packs over the coming months. I have a decent amp collection & will be profiling, capturing and modeling most of them soon! Thank you for watching!

That cab and mic setup you do always sounds incredible. That vintage modern is great sounding.

Thank you! I've got 4 cab/mic setups in my live room but I usually default to this one - those EVH Greenbacks are just something special. My Bogner with V30's sounds pretty sick too though! Thank you for watching!

The VM is an amazing amp - I can't believe it didn't catch on! There are so many fantastic tones in that amp & it takes drive pedals exceptionally well!

I’m waiting to see Steve take this out and use it live. Then I will be convinced that he absolutely loves this unit.

Always the cynic LOL! Right now I’m in ‘don’t fix what ain’t broke’ mode. That said I’m really wanting to take this live. Haven’t figured out how to do a few things that I do with the Kemper but if I do, it’s on!!!!!!!

@@TheGuitarNerdShow I know man, but honestly watching these videos I don’t feel your to far off from the idea of using it live. Keep em coming as I have been slowly looking at these as they seem to be more “user” friendly for us “non technical hehe” guys. Great content by the way. I hope your channel continues to grow

Thank you! Stay tuned cause I’m going to be making multiple captures of my whole amp collection (15 amps and counting) as well as some of my pedals and some impulse responses. These will be for sale & I think when people see what I’m including it’ll be a great bargain! Thank you for watching!

Just recently found this channel, enjoying the content, would love to hear your thoughts on DI captures versus cab captures as the DI may be even more accurate and flexible. Keep up the awesome CQ content!
@TheGuitarNerdShow3 ай бұрын
Thanks for your kind words. I actually did do a video comparing a direct capture with a cab capture…I guess it was about three weeks ago. In the video I captured the amp/speaker cab, then ran a direct capture and then played it through an IR I made of that same speaker cab. I’ll put a link here. Thank you for watching! In the context of a mix NO ONE WOULD TELL!! lol I use Amplitube right now until i can afford an Axe FX or one of these now that i hear it :), and NONE of my friends who are guitar players can tell if im using a real amp or sim. GREAT content dude!! easy sub!
@TheGuitarNerdShow4 ай бұрын
Thanks for your kind words! Amplitube does an amazing job, I’ve used it since v.2 For me, all the modelers nowadays really sound great! For me, the Quad Cortex wins because of Price, Availability and the ability to capture my own amps. I haven’t used a Fractal yet (I really want to try it) but from what I understand it’s so deep that there’s a pretty steep learning curve. The Quad Cortex is dead easy to use. Thanks for watching and for the sub!

Great demo, great to hear the comparisons. Love the Marshall Vintage Modern tone you have. Can you please tell me the exact settings you had on your amp. I have a VM as well and it is a great amp but takes some time to dial in. Thanks
@TheGuitarNerdShow3 ай бұрын
Ok, it's been several weeks, but if memory serves me, these are the settings. I think I was running through my no name 4x12 loaded with EVH Greenbacks. Dynamic Range is High. Mid Boost is off. The Master and Presence are on '6'. The Bass is at 9 o'clock, the mids are at 3 o'clock, highs at 9 o'clock. Detail at 1 o'clock, Body at 10 o'clock. These are approximate but should get you close. The Greenbacks reall contribute a lot to the tone!!!!! Again, thank you for watching!
@patmcwilliamsmusic3 ай бұрын
@@TheGuitarNerdShow Great, will give those settings a try as a starting point. Much appreciated

@TheGuitarNerdShow4 ай бұрын
Thanks for subscribing! I have a lotta good stuff coming up! I gotta be honest, doing this latest video the fact of how good the QC feels compared to the amps I captured really stood out to me. I’m in a different room from the speaker cabs but through the studio monitors, it feels IDENTICAL to the amps I was capturing. I was truly blown away!!!!!! I think you’re gonna be happy with the Quad Cortex. I know I love mine! Thank you for watching!
