My only problem with this game is that it's poorly optimized, even when having simple graphics and low resolution sprites. This should easily run 60+ fps even when the screen is full of enemies, but my laptops struggles at 10 fps at 20-30 minutes into the run.

Yeah, the literal only problem with the game so far is that it's very new. The gameplay loop is pretty easy to figure out and once you learn that the game is unbeatable unless you get evolved items, it gets a little dull. I'd say once they introduce more maps, as well as new item evolution combos, the game will be pretty dope. That way that game won't just be "paintrain max Axe and Candelabrador" to collect your free win. For it's cost this is one million percent worth the money, and will only appreciate in value TBH

Clover seems to me like wasting a passive slot for something that doesn't benefit you at all when the game starts getting hard. Same with crowns. I feel like every passive that doesn't directly improve your DPS or survivability can weigh you down a lot

My strat is to lock in as many level 1 combos as possible to fill up the slots in early game. Six weapons even with low levels are powerful enough to stay alive to like 15 minutes. It just means that every chest and level after that is full of only things you want.

Santa Water was doing 100 dps, second only to runetracer at 120. It softens up the map at later times really consistently. It was always there, lowkey keeping you alive.

NL's super casual gameplay got me to download it yesterday. After my 3rd try on Library, I beat the stage and figured out the essence of the game: get an evolved weapon ASAP. I also quickly learned which attacks are the best.

Yeah it's a great pick if you can compensate for a wasted slot in the late game. Wrecks weak mobs until ten minutes, and then does no damage for the rest of the time. The drawback isn't the worst once you have an evolved weapon.

It's possible to survive for a while after the "end". With laurel you get a small window of invulnerability after each layer of shield gets knocked giving you time to freeze death with lancet. Can stunlock them with that combo but an additional death will spawn every minute and they seemingly can't be killed, although not sure how rosary or pentagram work against it?

Bolt together two pieces of aluminum diamond plate texture sides out. Use aluminum washers in four stacks as spacers. Use aluminum bolts. You're creating a radiator to put your laptop on. Aluminum is excellent at conducting heat and the diamond plate will pull it out of your laptop and radiate it away. If you want a lap desk attach radiator to a piece of MDF and attach a pillow to the under side; for a more professional look use foam and fabric for a custom fit cushion.

Also, atractorb is legitimately a really good item. I did a run with it and I was at the same level NL was here 10 minutes before he was. You only have to invest like 2 or 3 levels on it to never have to worry about circling back to pick up exp ever again.

@@sergnb0 I wouldn't even claim that it's great quality of life. It's OK at best. You can quite consistently hit level 12 at 5 minutes on Mad Forest without it, and as long as you can do that, it should set you up quite nicely for a run.

Attract orb is actually S tier, you get increased survivability throughout the entire game and basically gives you regeneration in the last three minutes and with the garlic buff that makes it worth taking you have a free non evo slot available

Also, bracers don't give you attack speed. They give projectile speed, meaning your bones cover more ground and do more damage as a consequence.

​@@peace4626 Definitely, but projectiles scale coverage and dps a bit more i would say, i still go for the candelabra max combined with the evolved axe so area is no issue, Bible bores me after playing it like 4 times and realizing its broken af. Strongest Trinket is defnitely the pickup range for crystals, its not utility it legit speeds up your leveling by tenfold! Plus Skelly has a unique weapon that is actually strong as fuck if maxed and in the right build, it nearly always does my most dmg or second most dmg.

FYI, Attractorb is one of the better utility items. You eventually get to a point where it's hard to move to pick up exp, and Attractorb is the only thing that let's you pick it up. And picking up more exp early is a must have to win, especially on forest stage. At 22 min you should be practically maxed out on level items.

tips: Few high upgraded weapons are way better than many mid lvl upgraded weapons weapon upgrades are awesome: Axe + Candelabrador (area up) Cross + Clover (luck up) Fire Wand + Spinach (base damage) King Bible + Spellbinder (effect duration) Knife + Bracers (projectile speed) Magic Wand + Duplicator (extra shoots fired) Whip + Hollow Heart (+max hp)

NL and chat need to look at the level of the weapon in conjunction with the DPS. The cross may have had the lowest DPS in the second game 57:09 but it was also only level 1.

Gamers buying arcade cabinets is probably one of the most impractical things you can buy. They're huge so they take up a lot of space, they're expensive, they play games that you could probably buy for consoles that you probably already have for likely super cheap. I feel like the only reason you'd want to buy them is to get the arcade aesthetic for your home, but I never really went to arcades as a kid so I don't really have that desire.

4:58 Hey NL, I would recommend getting an AtGames Legend Ultimate cabinet and then using the built-in usb plug and play functionality to use the full controls with a retropie setup. I helped my dad get his sorted out and neither of us had any real hardware/arcade experience. As for me, I just got a couple of the 8bitdo arcade sticks and modded them to have octagonal gates and real sanwa switches and just use them straight off the pie. I like the portability of the controllers and I don't have room for a cabinet myself

I don't know how you can ignore Attract orb like that. You get like 3 points in that thing and you basically win the game, from my experience. You outscale the enemies so fast because you no longer need to kite through mobs to get your EXP, you just hoover it up and keep moving. Late in the game it becomes as big as the walls of the library and you can literally win by holding right on the keyboard and going afk.

I'm generally in agreement with most of NL's takes, but he's 100% off on the home arcade. I spent $500 on an arcade cabinet and it's fantastic. I play it way more than I thought I was going to. The trick is to get one you can put all the emulated games on though.

lightning is very good(when you use duplicator,spinach, lvl it up ) it literally cleans the screen edit : garlic also is pretty good even in late game
