@@7Mushrooms7 In the video, he states that there was a sponsor "that paid for the space." Assuming there was branding related to that, I would totally think that was a PR event. No business can justify paying for a private party. Legally, both the business and influencer who accepted the sponsorship could be breaking several different laws, including tax codes.
@rynne110415 күн бұрын
@@Kimberly_Sparkles idk abt tax codes and law but i tot like for example a wat if ceo wants to pay for his daughters party w his money but rumor goes around calling it sponsored. idk if its just in my culture that we use the term 'sponsor' pretty losely as somebody paying something for us. like i got engaged and my aunt 'sponsored' my event flowers, no business involved. was it said in this case who the sponsor was or if the sponsor advertise it? (genuinely asking if i missed it cos i think its mentioned she saw an advert? but why would thr be an ad for a private party unless they meant an invitation card/letter)
@Kimberly_Sparkles15 күн бұрын
@@rynne1104 In the US, sponsor is a regulated word. It means that an event is being paid for by corporate money. The father can pay for his daughter's party out of pocket, but he'd have very good reason to make sure people DON'T think it came from the corporation. I'd expect the influencer & the brand to post acknowledging the relationship and disavowing a working connection. The business owner should not let the impression go unchallenged because the FTC will fine over doing nothing. This is one thing small business owners can screw themselves up. Cooper mentions that it was sponsored as an aside and I'd like to know what that means as someone not on TikTok. As someone who has attended brand events at bars, and worked with alcohol brands for events, I can totally see why she would think it's okay to critique a branded party. I would never think an event is truly private if logos or branding is associated with it. I would also add if you are a professional influencer, you should not assume it's private legally. Do discuss this with an attorney. Gifts are taxed at a higher rate and if someone is truly giving you a venue for free in exchange for nothing? You're going to need to pay taxes on the value of that personally. If you are deducting costs as business expenses? It's not a private party, it's a business event. The IRS will not let you treat it both ways and public perception is a part of that.

Thing that makes no sense to me is. Unless it was just a terrible vet. If it’s true that cat was just malnourished. Why would the vet then advise to put the cat down? For a vet a malnourished cat would be a fairly simple solution. Give the owner a good diet plan with the cat and usually they will get better with time. Not instantly it should be put down? If a cats nothing but malnourished it’ll eat 9/10 and if not then go back to the vet. A sick cat will either not eat or not be able to hold in its food. And a sick cat might be a reason to put the cat down. I don’t believe that girl was starving the cat. Because if it died fairly soon after being stolen. It seems it was sick and then became stress from a new environment and died. I’m sure he meant well but he could’ve easily taken the cat to the vet. Then take it back to its home and even feed it himself if he wanted to. Unless I listened wrong didn’t he say he was a roommate? So why not feed it yourself? I get she should’ve herself. But I don’t think she was starving it. I think sick cats look sick. Maybe I’m wrong tho. All I’m saying is I’ve had to deal with sick and malnourished animals. Only time a cat offers to put an animal down is if it has an illness that can’t be treated or a contagious virus.

Vet tech here! 🐾Not to defend her because she very well could have been neglecting the cat, but sick cats typically do lose weight rapidly and look absolutely terrible (matted, crusty, etc). Sounds like it may have had some thyroid or kidney issues. Cats with hyperthyroidism will eat and eat and eat and still lose weight without aggressive treatment, which is a very pricey treatment involving radioactive iodine. When he took the cat to the vet and the vet said ‘hey, we should probably euthanize - this cat is suffering’ and he decided that he knew better than the vet (treatment options were likely provided but would have been costly)… he took the cat home and let it suffer for two weeks before it passed away. Which situation is more cruel? On another note - I know you said Gus is on allergy shots but if he’s still getting some flaky skin, talk to your vet about potential food allergies if you haven’t explored that yet! He may be mildly allergic to the protein in his food causing some of the allergy symptoms!

My cat passed away from cancer. He wasn't even diagnosed for a long time and trust me, we went to so many vets and tried all of the things. The only real sign was him not having fur and sometimes getting sores in the upper lip area, it didn't change or grow or anything. When we found out, we used meds for years, adding pain meds later on. He was otherwise a very healthy guy. In the end, he let me know it was time. Our vet also said it was time. He was in pain and had been fighting for so long, probably for around a decade. I had 11 amazing years with him. He was my soulchild, losing him is still incredibly hard all these years later. I held him in my arms while the vet stuck the needle in, and just a minute or two later, he was gone. The vet cried with me. I waited years before even thinking about getting another pet. I adopted a dog in 2017 and she's out here living her best life. I'll always miss my cat. If someone had stolen him, I don't think I'd still be here today. RIP my beautiful baby boy.

I would honestly say that the shelter really messed up by putting a terminally ill animal up for adoption without running a single test, and I feel bad for the owner because she definitely didn't know what was about to come. as someone who has had cats who are sick and at the end of their life, they look pretty bad regardless of how well you take care of them. in fact, losing a lot of weight despite having a proper diet is generally one of the first signs you can have that a pet isnt doing well since they instinctually try to hide their pain. so to me this just sounds like someone who wasnt aware of the situation made a negative assumption and took the cat away, separating the poor thing from its person which would put it under a lot of stress, and likely hastening its end :(

And why did he let it get to the point of malnourishment when he was living with her? Of course it’s 100% her responsibility to feed and take care of her cat and yes, her not taking the cat to the vet was neglect (even if it was ignorance based and not malicious). However, if I saw my roommate wasn’t feeding their animal, I would talk to them first and then take on that responsibility (and then promptly end the friendship). As someone who had a sick cat, they don't tend to eat or drink a lot. Sometimes not at all. I would bet she either did take the cat to a vet at some point and he didn't know, or she thought the cat could recover on its own. There's not much us owners can do outside of trying to bring comfort to the cat. I also find it weird the cat dies after two weeks, but she had the cat for god knows how long and the cat was still alive. She probably had a plan or was talking to someone about the recovery. Losing an animal is traumatic, but not being able to say your goodbye or even be with them in their last moments is just cruel.

He was a big boy and most of it was actually muscle. The illness was so aggressive tho, that in the span of 3 days, he looked pretty malnourished. It wasn’t just from him not eating but also from his body wasting away from illness. Pretty much most cats wasting away from an illness or old age will look scruffy and kinda malnourished. So she cou have been taking good care of her cat but due to the illness it could have looked malnourished. It's almost like they think it makes them superior to others, because they know just a little bit about disorders or how the brain works. Some of them bragged about getting into the field specifically because they wanted to "understand people." Not because they're actually interested in getting a job they just want to label people. These are the types of people who want to be your therapists and psychologists. A bunch of narcissists looking for a better tool kit. Also who tf wants to hang out with people on their birthday who only show up if they pay for transportation and drinks and food for them ON THEIR OWN BIRTHDAY? As someone who literally had a cat that wasn't eating or drinking water, like, I had to desperately stick syringes down my cat's throat to get him to eat, I'm pissed off at this cancellation. My cat only survived because he was young, about 3 years old, and even so he ended up being hospitalized and I had to spend nights praying that he would eat something or at least drink water. It was a constant struggle and even back then, the vets had no idea what he had. She adopted a cat that was already sick, could have been dying, and to make matters worse, it was kidnapped. This is really bad for an animal, taking it away from its owner and the home it was used to.

Omg I had to do the same thing. My bf and I took in this kitten that was around the apartment complex, we saw her a couple times and it started to get cold so we took her in and turns out she was pregnant. We found out when she started giving birth in my bfs closet in the middle of a crazy work week but she had complications and couldn’t give birth to all of them. We took her to the vet but Jesus 4000+ for a tiny c-section so they just gave her some pills. After one of the hardest work days ever I was up til 5 in the morning trying to get her to drink some water so she could give birth and I remembered my bf had one of those dentist water things in his bathroom so I grabbed that and force fed her the water I was so scared and I felt horrible but she needed it. She passed two still horns but the last tiny baby made it and she’s so sweet and spicy we kept the two girls and gave the boy to a coworker who has other cats and lots of cat experience. Long story but I totally understand that fear when your cat can’t do what it needs to survive on its own my poor little baby was so small and scared and tired but she powered through. You did an amazing job 🫶
@persianblue4420 күн бұрын
She was straight-up neglectful. The cat was visibly skinny, matted, and vomiting for 6-8 months, and she never took it to a vet once. That would be a different story. At that point, that would be abusive, and I don't even blame the guy for taking it to a vet. That was her responsibility, and she had the time and money to do it. Stealing is wrong, but his intent was obviously not malicious.

Honestly, it sounds like the shelter she got it from either knowingly or unknowingly adopted out a very ill cat and it just deteriorated from there because the vets at the shelter said it was a cold. Should she have taken it back to another vet? Most definitely. But depending on how long she had the cat to its death it may have been not noticeable until the very last second before it was stolen. Honestly, it dying after 2 weeks of supposed care it sounds like it had some type of terminal illness that wasnt diagnosed (because the vet after it was stolen should have ran tests, but sounds like the thief didnt want to pay for it) and it passed from that.
@UnicornsPoopRainbows27 күн бұрын
This. Shelters don't have a big budget either so probably have some standard tests they run for contagious diseases and wait until cats are obviously sick. Cats hide their illnesses more than dogs and would act very similar in a new environment, like a shelter.
@jasperjazzie27 күн бұрын
yeah, i had a cat a couple years ago who was fine when we adopted her, but in the last few weeks of her life she deteriorated quickly, apparently she had a tumor around her heart and she'd probably had it since we got her and it only just now started becoming an issue, and we took her to the vet and they gave her special food, but she still didn't want to eat or really do anything, she'd just lie down or stare into space, and there was nothing we or the vet could do about it. sometimes that's just what happens, you can't do anything to save them as much as you want to. maybe she should have done things differently but she didn't "kill her cat," and none of that justifies stealing someone's cat

Nope. There were no vets at the shelter. The cat was visibly skinny, matted, and vomiting for 6-8 months, and she never took it to one. That's just neglect. Someone can say that they've been caring for a pet by giving it basic food and water, but they need much more than that. The guy had a wrong way of approaching the situation, but why would it be malicious to get it to a vet, when everyone else in the house have seen how neglectful she was?

I had a cat that had cancer that couldn’t be cured so I tried to give him the best life while he had quality of life. He was happy and eating but looked more and more scruffy and lost weight. If someone didn’t know my cat had cancer, he would have looked sick and malnourished like he was being abused. I also had another cat who was almost 19 when she died. She was so healthy before she got cancer, but her fur was starting to look a bit straggly. Because she was old, and old healthy cats don’t look like young healthy cats. Also healthy for her age isn’t the same as healthy for a young cat. Age causes issues that impact how you look and how your body works. Dude had no clue what a healthy senior cat looked like, and that poor cat died without her family because he decided he knew better than her owner and her vet.
@KpopZuko26 күн бұрын
Unfortunately it wasn’t even a senior. It was a kitten. While i do think the baby was sick, it probably wasn’t Reagan’s doing. It was just an unfortunate situation made worse by some idiots who didn’t think to even ask their friend what was going on. They just assumed she must be starving it.
@shelbydan26 күн бұрын
i think y’all missed the point that her cat was visibly deteriorating and she didn’t once take him to a vet?? like you obviously got your cat diagnosed and did everything you could to make sure they were comfortable but this girl admitted her cat was sickly the whole time she had him but didn’t schedule a vet appointment. also people speculated from personal experience with their own cats that seven probably had feline aids. with the right medication, seven would have been much more comfortable and possibly could have lived a relatively long life. i think the guy who took the car acted impulsively but i also understand that he didn’t want to wait to see if what’s her name would finally step up meanwhile her cats getting sicker and sicker.

@@shelbydanTHANK YOU for saying this!! I keep seeing comments talking about this & feeling bad for her but I dug into the situation A LOT bc I needed answers & she 100% neglected her cat. There are MULTIPLE people coming forward to corroborate the guys story, as well, & even old videos resurfacing where someone in the group hinted at it on a podcast. Also, my cat has FIV & he is PERFECTLY healthy & looks totally normal - you’d never know he had it looking at him. He doesn’t even need medicine, we just don’t let him outside to prevent him from getting hurt or sick or getting an infection (bc of weakened immune system); plus, to make sure he doesn’t give it to another cat. But he is totally normal otherwise. Her cat was clearly soooo severely ill & NEEDED a vet appt SOONER. All the guy really did was take it to the vet, spent $1000 trying to save the cat, but they were too far gone already so they just cuddled the cat as it passed. He ultimately did more for her cat than she ever did.
@destinyrojas348126 күн бұрын
@@shelbydanokay but he took the cat to the vet got told the same shit she explained to him. He didn’t give her the cat back and apologize nor even tell her until years after it died. He was wrong and she did what she thought was best. Vets stress animals out and that’s probably why she didn’t want to bring it. We can’t hate every person who makes mistakes because everyone has made mistakes in their lives.

As someone who fosters kittens for my local shelter. We did get a batch of Kittens [1 day old] and their mother to foster until they where old enough to be adopted out. They had a full battery of tests run on them before we picked them up, and they all came up with a clean bill of health. The most that we could see was the mother had what the shelter said was a Sinus infection. We had medicine that we gave her but it didn't seem to help. We brought this up multiple times to the vet and the shelter and they kept going back to "shes just dealing with the sinus infection still" That then morphed into "Because she had the sinus infection for so long, her sinuses are messed up now. It will not affect her life at all...she will just have some trouble breathing. Keep cleaning out her nose" That was until the kittens where old enough to get fixed. When we took them to the vet to get fixed they ran another battery of tests on the them...and this time the test results came back to being positive for Feline Leukemia. When we questioned why its just showing up now...they informed us that it can take upwards to a couple months for cats to test positive for it after they are infected, and even if they are infected, they will not show symptoms right away. Because they all had FELV they couldn't be adopted out....AND they would have to be quarantined from the rest of the shelter. My Fiance and I decided that we where going to keep them and give them the best life we could at the time. This went on for 6 months to a year. They where acting like normal....everyday cats.....until they weren't. It was so fast how their health drops. They stopped eating, they stopped drinking. They just laid around all day and slept if they weren't trying to go somewhere to try and hide because they knew it was coming to be time. we eventually had to have all 5 euthanized because of it. The reason I'm saying this is because how her situation sounds is very very very similar to what happened with my set of fosters. If it was a stray cat that wasn't in the adoption center for that long, it could have had FeLV and the battery of tests never caught it. If the person who took it to the vet after they grabbed it from her never specifically had a battery of tests run for FeLV, they probably didn't know about it. Just from my experiences, I wouldn't judge to harshly unless I'm specifically told that test where run and everything came back clean.

I'm definitely not rolling in money, but I could never imagine not taking proper care of my dog. Moo (her name) has so many health issues (she was a breeding/bait dog left abandoned in a locked crate with no food or water). Her prescriptions are expensive and i cook her food due to her extensive allergies. She's had a mammory tumor removed (consequences of not being spayed until after adopting her when she was 5 years old). She's now being tested for cancer in her urethra. Moo has so much love to give and it breaks my heart that she has been through so much. Gustav is a beautiful boy! He's lucky to have attentive owners.

With the cat situation, most animals tend to stop eating while sick. I had a peagle breed for 12 years, and when he was about 6-7 years old he got deathly sick. Like his back end was unusable for him he was dragging himself around and at the time my grandmother could not afford the extra vet bills (as he was taken regularly for grooming because of his long, thick hair) and so his recovery was pretty much left up to himself and whatever I could do to assist him. I laid with him for hours, carefully gave him water out of a syringe, and I fed him lunch meat because it was the ONLY thing he'd eat. It worked, he recovered fully after a couple months, but after a week he was trying to walk again, and after 2 weeks he was stable just walked a little funny, and after a month or so he was just fine. My boyfriends parents had a 17 year old cat, he was sick with cancer. He did amazing for such a long time, for quite a few years actually, but whenever his time came close he stopped eating. Wasn't really drinking and he looked like a skeleton, but he was still being taken care of. Given his medication and they'd get him to eat and drink what they could, but after a month of his health declining he unfortunately passed away. Dying animals just don't eat. I personally think it's to speed up the process, honestly. I feel like they just don't want to continue suffering, and they know if they eat, it's gonna keep making them live in pain.
