Lily Vellekamp, a high school sophomore, has strong words for those of you who think that feminism equates to man-hating. Her passion is firey and her words are sharp, this talk is sure to make you question some assumptions you have about gender equality.
Lily Vellekamp is a high school sophomore here at SRDS and works at a burger restaurant in her spare time. She grew up in New Jersey, is an only child, and lives with her mom. She plays six musical instruments and desperately wants a pet bunny. Her talk today on the TEDx stage presents her feminist view of the society she lives in, but she is not here to rant. Instead, find yourself inspired and engaged by Lily’s passion and fiery words during her second talk at TEDxYouth@SRDS.
This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at www.ted.com/tedx

because men already have it pretty good, there is no need to fight for men's rights but there sure is a need to fight for women's rights.

The wage gap takes into account only the average salary. NOT... what jobs are more commonly done by a certain gender. Men more often work higher paying jobs

they dont even take into account that way more women work part time where men work fulltime.. But i guess they need to be payed way more than men to be happy. Who am i kidding they will never be happy..

If you want more women made companies then ask women to MAKE companies instead of saying it's mens faults.

I don’t get the whole unrealistic body standards, like the boy action figures all have muscles tf. The girl dolls are skinny but people can be skinny just like people can get muscles.👀

Women flooded the workplace with additional available labor. Naturally, the value of labor declined. So now dad can't support a family, mom has to work, and the kids have no parent at home. Hooray for feminists! They turned women into wage slaves.
