The plaintiff brought his car into a shop for an oil change, and one of the employees ran into his car, so the plaintiff is suing for damages. The defendant claims he already fixed the dent he caused, and now the plaintiff is trying to scam him for an unrelated transmission problem.

Some cars keep having problem after problem - ie nonstop problems after a particular age. Replaced the radiator , then other things , and another and another . It’s not just fixing one thing. Best to send the car to it’s good grave .. The plaintiff couldn’t prove the radiator was faulty, and then what about the temp gauge and overheat light - and the refusal to let the person drive off with the car?

years ago I had a Mustang and the block heater was leaking a little bit. My brother was a mechanic and told me to bring it to the business he worked at and he would replace it after work. When I came by to pick up the car I could see a massive puddle of coolant beneath the car. It turns out the problem was the water pump. I argued that he must have broken it because it definitely wasn't leaking when I brought it in. He argued that it wasn't his fault. Needless to say I have never asked for his help fixing my car since.

@@DonziGT230 lmao. Except I know my brother. I've seen him work. I've actually witnessed him damaged another person's car and then tell me not to worry, he'll just say it was like that when it came in. I've also heard him tell stories of breaking parts and then just making up some excuse to charge the customer. So yeah, it was just pure coincidence that my water pump, which is right beside the block heater, sprung a catastrophic leak in the 100 feet it was driven. C'mon man.
@DonziGT230
@DonziGT230 Жыл бұрын
@@tchevrier It's nearly impossible to damage a water pump seal without removing the pump and doing something to it intentionally. Some pump seals will leak a small amount for a long time before gushing, some go from perfect to gushing all at once. They almost always leak cold and will often stop as the engine warms up. It's dumb to let such a bad mechanic work on your car, but it's extremely unlikely that he caused the pump to leak.
@tchevrier
@tchevrier Жыл бұрын
@@DonziGT230 that was a load of bull. There was absolutely no signs of a leak around the pump before I took it in because I had personally examined it. What's dumb is believing that this type of behaviour is rare. Unfortunately, this is more common than you would like to believe.
