1:12:47 when I saw them talking I got goosebumps on my arms because Obi wan’s reaction seeing Anakin all burned up. And Obi wan apologizing for everything. Then to hear Vader “ You didn’t Kill Anakin Skywalker. I did.” sent shivers down my back. It was just breathtaking to see them talk

Episode 4 of Obi Wan has a direct connection to Jedi Survivor. Reva mentions that this is the second hidden path safe house they’ve found recently. The first would have been Cere’s compound on Jedha

@@BeyondTheDuneSea I got lucky I did a rewatch with my girlfriend who hadn’t seen it yet but I’m showing her all of Star Wars. I had finished playing the story for survivor the night I left for a vacation then we watched Kenobi on that same vacation. The force was my ally lol.

Why did Vader say he killed Anakin? Cause that's what Ben said in ep IV. When it came out that line made me roll my eyes a bit, because its one of the famous retcons from original trilogy.

Yes and no. I think Star Wars has done a good job at expanding on that premise from the OT. That as much as Vader would like to think that he “killed Anakin” he didn’t because Anakin is who he is and that good man is still there. Like we mentioned in the show, I think THIS show adds some weight and context to Ben’s lie.

This is something Seth and I disagree on. I very much don’t like the concept that Anakin and Vader are separate people. I think it takes away from his ultimate redemption. It removes Anakins agency from not only his horrible choices, but overcoming Vader too. Ask yourself this. If Vader and Anakin are separate people then does it really matter if Vader is redeemed? Because if they are separate, then when they die Anakins “soul” passes on while Vaders is condemned? Idk, I just don’t like that idea. I think Vader is just Anakin after he fell to the Darkside and we shouldn’t get to hung up on the fact that he has two different names. It’s like Walter white and Heisenberg. It’s the same guy, he just uses another name when he’s doing bad stuff

@@BeyondTheDuneSea reason why I also asked that question is when Obi wan asked him “ what have you become.” Then Vader Replies “ I am what you made me.” And that made me think about the whole thing

This is what ruins the show for me (and almost makes it pointless): “only Obi-Wan matters.” If that is the case, Vader wouldn’t have given up, even if Palpatine told him to. The one driving force that he would have would be to hunt Kenobi down at all cost. If he knew Obi-Wan was out there, he would have never given up. Better story was for Vader to never know what happened, to always wonder. For Obi-Wan to remain in exile and not taken the risk of abandoning Luke. And there never being a loose end like Reva. The story just fit so much better without the show. And the show ruined the Grand Inquisitor.

That’s so interesting! For me, Palpatines remark to Vader is all I needed to know as for why Vader would’ve stopped hunting Kenobi. He was terrified of his master and still the subservient, only beginning to break free when he learns of Luke.
