The Acolyte sucks ass

As you guys have pointed out. These so called Disney "TV shows" are trying so hard to emulate as these separate films rather than actually treating the TV show format as episodes. When TV shows aren't films. Not only for this how, but how many of Disney's other shows (the shows that Disney are actually part of and have their hands on it rather than just providing the financial means and marketing) are also taking this whole approach of "we want to be films". No wonder that so many networks, not just Disney shows, are taking their sweet time (feels like it) is because how these showrunners and writers are operating and treating shows differently. There is a reason why shows back about 10 years ago or so where the wait for shows were only about 1 year apart. My problem with this kind of approach though is...i forget they're even on. Another problem with Disney is the whole "8-10 hours, they're films" thing is nothing but a load of marketing bullshit. When actually, most if all of their shows are roughly 3 hours to 40 minutes in total, with some yes being slightly over 4 hours. Which is why the budgeting for this show and their other expensive shows, baffles me. I feel like most of SW shows could have easily been just anthology films. I think that was Disney's original intent to have these SW shows be films. But ever since the Mando S1 show became a surprise hit to them, all of a sudden the scrapped films are turning into shows. That's the only explanation to the weird structure these shows are doing, and maybe poorly done.

How do you kill Jedi without a weapon? You discredit them, you break the trust the galaxy has in them, you expose their lies, hubris, and arrogance. This started earlier with the Path of the Open Hand and the Nihil, and now I think is getting played out even further. Whatever happened on Brendok continues the slow downfall of the Jedi. I think Sol will be the one to fall, take the brunt of that burden. The sun (Sol) setting on the Jedi. This is becoming clearer through Vernestra's storyline - hiding things from the High Council, not wanting to share things with the senate, the hologram scene where she's talking to the senator and he says something like "the Jedi have always been honest with the Senate, you have nothing to worry about". As a High Republic book reader, her storyline intrigues me as she is portrayed very differently from the books - what happened in the 100 years from the books to this show....

They made a lot of the episodes too short and now feels like they are going to rush through everything. Imagine last episode is an hour and half of just teasing.

Im not sure if guys heard this or not but Abeloth is rumored to be in season 2 of Ahsoka and people want Either Liev Schreiber or Gerad Butler as Baylan Skoll

What you guys are forgetting is that the ACOLYTE has had LOTS of fighting vs Ashoka already. Good fight scenes as well. So at least there's that. I happen to really dig the show. We've Also seen ALOT of displays of power as well. ❤

God... LH does NOT know the deep cuts. She is NOT a fan. She isn't trying to actively ruin SW... she should just never should have been given the keys to dad's car. What a shame that this trash show might have one of the most important canon characters in it.

Guys the lack of runtime isn't the writers choice...The writer for eps 4 and 5 talked about runtime limits. MOST of the Disney plus shows have these pacing issues Marvel and Star Wars.... IMO what was there wasn't bad...the real issue is this felt like one half of a full episode. Would've been natural for the next scene to start the flashback. They should've gone with a six episode season with a few of the episodes being longer. These short limited series would benefit from binge or if they were to release key episodes together the way Bad Batch was doing.

This show feels like its only just started. And yet we still be drip fed Sith lore. I could say plenty of negative things about this episode but I did enjoy that Qimir figured her out straight away and applied a completely different tact to what he used with Mae, where before he was this masked faceless authority figure giving Mae orders, with Osha he's laying himself bare and appearing vulnerable to abuse her curiosity and lust - Great discussion as always fellas

The college student jedi is Padawan Mog Adana, who works within Master Vernestras cabinet/office in the Jedi Temple.

If Osha "harmed a unarmed person", maybe that why Quimir had Mae attempt to kill Jedi without a weapon 🖖

Kudos to throwing out Cade Skywalker. The whole “rule of One” and Darth Krauth was my favorite Legends story. And you guys discussing and debating is just peak fandom. Throwing out takes and ideas that fans might not be thinking about, constructive criticism instead of other…kinds of criticism. This is as good and it gets 👍

Basil isn’t really helping the pacing issue I thought he would be key to learning that Mae switched places with Osha but… nothing so what was the point of having him there. Loved the Osha/The Strangers dynamic should’ve maybe done some flashbacks for the benefit of Sol’s backstory and was kinda sad at Pips reset. Here hoping next episodes are longer too, loving the videos guys. You’re definitely hitting it on this one! Keep it up, see you next episode!

Agreed, I enjoy the quiet moments in star wars, but this episode was awkward. Little story related answers, a bunch of small lore tidbits. But then again, nothing new really. A little character development, but minimal. I thought we were gonna get some more backstory to expand on episode 3. But I'm optimistic. 4.7/10 episode.

All I care about is the Acolyte spinoff about HOW IN THE WORLD MOG become a Jedi Knight?!?!?!

Too often the show just feels like fan fiction. Some fan fiction had the soul of the writer put in it, but you can tell that it was a fan that did it. It’s had its moments lately, but too much is being played up.

I think that Qimir and Osha scene is more sensual than sexual if that makes sense

Regarding TLJ, it makes me so happy to know you all feel the same way: 1/3 was great, 2/3 not. When I liked it, I loved it… when I didn’t like it, I hated it.

“The Stanger”/Qirmir and master Sol are carrying this hard. I like how he’s trying a different approach with Osha than what he did with Mae and he’s opening up little by little but isn’t coming off as a good guy by it. He definitely was her padawan and his back scar looks like a whip scar to me. It makes sense and he admitted he was a padawan a long time ago and she’s known to be older

My biggest problem is what every Disney Plus series have as a problem. Too much of a rushed ending episodes/too few episodes. There’s 2 episodes left to conclude all this and it doesn’t feel like enough. A lot has to happen and it’s not enough time.

I feel like there just isn't enough time left to make this all wrap up well like I want it to stick the landing but it's just a meh 7/10 at this point

I’m struggling to find any substance going into the last 2 episodes that would make for a compelling or satisfying ending. This show rarely has dialogue, rather exposition propping up a poor, contrived, uninteresting plot. 6/8… 1-2 hours tops for this to feel satisfying. Not happening. This story didn’t need to be told. It shouldn’t exist.

Putting Kenobi in A tier is deranged 😂

If it’s all recycled garbage with bizarre dead end stories and very odd nonsense dialogue. Then why is it so expensive? They must be getting DEI kickbacks to offset the price? The people have spoken, it’s just not good. They are so angry from disappointment after disappointment that it’s being bombed, but the opposite is also happening especially from the shills and propaganda reviewers. I think it’s around a 13% right now, really it’s not that bad, it’s probably closer to a 30% on average. The action in episode 5 is the only reason it’s that high however, although the blocking and logic of that episode is all over the place and a 3 year theatre student would have done better. This tells me the actors were so trash at their physical work that the editing was used to fix everything in post. $200 million for this is pure hubris at best, at worst it’s embezzling. The best we can hope for is they are all just incompetent and too busy feeding us The Message instead of a story with a message. Story, acting, world building and message in that order, lazy dimwits.

Stakes irrelevant because no one cares about these characters.

Wow that's the point you simply don't care about them there's no character development at all that's why when one of them died! It's really pointless emotional absence or value

When were the Jedi good? The High Republic and Old Republic were supposed to be eras of Jedi ascension. The Jedi are absolute amateurs and pushovers in this series. Disney’s continued deconstruction of the Jedi is disappointing. They had the chance to show the Jedi at their best. They did the opposite. The Jedi are not formidable or interesting anymore. Next they will deconstruct KOTOR. So depressing.
