Your Giovanni battle brought out a deeply buried childhood memory of mine. I remember playing pokemon blue as a kid, and I wasn't old enough to really understand how to switch pokemon before battle so as a result I made it to the elite four using only Blastoise at the front of my party with 5 lower level pokemon that I caught but never used because I didn't learn how. One of these pokemon was a golbat from victory road. Without fail I would get through the elite four with blastoise, run out of pp at lance's dragonite and end up struggling to death. Except golbat would come out after blastoise fainted and would always win against dragonite, which just spammed barrier or reflect or whatever the move is. Of course I never beat the game after this because I didn't know how to use potions and revives and stuff so I'd just black out against blue. I think I had to ask my mom for help with teaching and using HMs, I'm not sure.

So for 39:01, Bruno's Hitmonchan causing a freeze actually won't always cause a loss since he has a 25% chance of thawing you with a follow up Fire Punch, although rolling for a defrost might be time consuming if you're unlucky. I think this might be something that is only unique to Bruno, though. Anyway, hey, I'm pleasantly surprised that Oddish got through all right! It's not a terrible Pokemon, but yeah, its typing, stats, and movepool only gave it so much to work with. Amazing video as always!
@ScottsThoughtsPokemon Жыл бұрын
It is unique to Bruno. Its happened once to me.

@@ScottsThoughtsPokemon It can happen with Lance as well, specifically with his Dragonite.
@SnowyTotodile Жыл бұрын
@@skeetermania3202 Ohhh, yes, I suppose that's true! Although, unlike Bruno, it is only possible if you have a Pokemon that his good AI will use both fire and ice moves against. That means if you're using, say, a pure Fire type like Arcanine, then he will avoid using Fire Blast but will happily spam Blizzard, Thunder, and Hyper Beam. Also, unlike Bruno's Hitmonchan which can probably be waited out by most Pokemon, Dragonite's special stat is pretty good, and all of his moves have 120 or more base power.

Oddish is a bit odd-ish😂, on paper grass and poison type with a sleep move sounds great, but these stats are awful and random like using sleep powder. 🤔And then add to that small movepool, and you got a run that would need a lot of luck going on there to get by most trainers, unlike with bellsprout. And I think bellsprout and oddish are looking like similar pokemon, but bellsprout's growth and even warp made a big difference in both runs. But hey at least oddish won first try against charizard in the oak battle that's something. And you could even make it have a better time with bide and mimic which were kind of surprising in a sense. 😊It is always nice to watch how bide is sometimes useful for some pokemon to get by all kinds obstacles. 👏👏Well done! Let's hope in gen 2 or gen 3 oddish could do better with its chlorophyll ability. One thing is for sure, its going to be fun using sunny day with this one. 😊

It might help a lot of new people understand what you're about and help them feel more connected. Since it would also be at the top of your channel, it would never just get lost in the constant stream of videos you make.
