Question, did you have to install a decoder/resistor. Installed a set for my daughter-in-law an got a chime with a low-beam our on dash board every 10 to 15 seconds. Thanks

Installed LED Headlights on a Dodge Dart . Both work although instrument panel reads and shines low-beam out. Any ideas? Thanks.

Yes I did. I don’t recall what brand it was, but it was a simple plug and play harness. Just make sure to get some that have good reviews for this size bulb.

Is there a possibility you could link the brand and specific canbus resistor that you bought? They all have mixed reviews on amazon and I’m torn on which to use (I have a 2015 dart). I want to install some LED lights but if the dash is chiming all the time for me it’s not worth the switch

I have a 2016 dodge dart. Led headlight will not turn on and show a message that my light is out. If I buy a canbus will the lights work and the light out message go off.

Before buying a canbus, try plugging in that led headlight bulb to the other side to see if it turns on. The led headlight bulb may be dead if only one side is working. Something the polarity in LED bulbs is reversed, so I posible try to connect the LED bulb with the connector flipped.

is the 9006 connection the same as the Stock headlight connctions? I am looking to upgrade my headlights and connctions are stock i have done no prior mods but I am sick of my dim headlights in my 2015 Dart GT

Jessica Antunez there is another video where I show you how to convert the 9006 bulbs to to fit the 9012 housing. It’ll be after this video was uploaded. And yes, you’ll need the canbus so you don’t get the low beams out message

A canbus is essentially a resistor that regulates the amount of energy pulled by the LED bulb. Since LED bulbs draw less energy than a regular bulb, some cars may show that there is a bulb that is out when you install an LED bulb. So the canbus lets the car know that you installed the correct bulb so you don’t get those annoying bulb-out error messages.

True Detective “CANBUS” stands for “Controller Area Network BUS. It’s a pulse width modulated system used by certain manufacturers to tell resistance between the BCM and the bulb. It is used to tell you when you have a bulb out. So like ole’ boy said, Light Emitting Diodes require less power to function so the BCM thinks it has a burnt out bulb.

I used a resistor harness to control the amount of electricity used by the LED headlight bulbs. LED bulbs require less electricity, so when LED headlight bulbs turn on, our Darts think those headlight bulbs are burned out. The headlight regulator harness makes the Dart think the LED bulbs are just a regular halogen bulb.
